So I have a 10" Q I'll be running about 1000 rms to. What kind of box dimensions do you recommend. I bought a prefab box for $20 because I figured if it didn't work, oh well I'm out 20 bucks. Well, the Q is a little oversized for the box so I figured, well, might as well just build one. What dimensions should I build it if I plan to run the above mentioned power? Is the .6 cubes best or would it be better to have closer to 1?

I have a 12'' Q dual 2 ohm and it will be wired down to one ohm. I have a hifonics bxi1208d powering it. I wanna make sure i get my settings right on my amp. Where should i set the SSF at and the low pass at? Also since my HU has 4 volt output, should i set my level to 4 volt? As for the box, what hz should i have it tuned to. I listen to mainly rap and deathmetal...yeah i know complete opposites haha any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

Hi, have my new car since a few days now, a 08 BMW 330xd :bigclap: :bigclap: :bigclap: But this time i just want a lil boombox in the panel of my trunk. I just ordered a 10 inch Fi SSD Dual 2 Ohms today and expect it by the end of the week... I wanna put it in a sealed enclosured like this finished looks like this I measured about 0.5-0.6 cu ft What you think, will this work fine?? And it gets about 900 RMS

I got a guy interested in buying my Fi Bl motor, but i dont have a clue as to how much to sell it for. The motor is practically new with nothin wrong with it. Any idea what price i should sell it for?

Okay so im going with a 12" Q with the BP option and an audioque 1200D amp. I want to port this sub around 33Hz. How big of a box should i make? I know Fi recommends anywhere from 1.8-2.5 cubic feet but what would be the best? Would it be better to go bigger than 2.5 cubic feet or should i just stay around that number? Thanks

ok so one night i was sitting around thinking up some new box ideas. i really want to have my sub facing forward into the cab of my car, and have the port be on top of the subwoofer. so i was doing some concepting and came up with this, Box idea. I just want to know if it will work. i forgot to put notes so.... notes: 1. double baffle front plate 2. round port edges 3. 2.8 ^3 feet of airspace after all displacement 4. 3/4" mdf or particle board used. its going to be firing forward with the trunk sealed from the cabin. thanks, Anton Miller

I have the basics for this box already, but I need to know if I need any bracing (if so, what kind) or any other tweaking. Also the sub is facing up, does it matter where I place the sub? (closest to the port opening or furthest away) Box is 24x30x15.5 Port Width is 3.9" Volume a little under 4^3 (after displacement) Tuned a bit above 30hz Thanks

Im getting a Fi SSD 15". I need to know what options to get and what i should get for an amp. Its GOING TO BE A DAILY SUB THAT WILL BEAT TO ITS MAX EVERY DAY. I want to go with the hifonics brand amp and wonder which is right. I myself think it'll take 1,500 rms no prob. These are the amps im considering... I want to get a 4.0 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz HIFONICS TXI1508D ---------1,500 rms HIFONICS-BXI1608D ---------1,600 rms HIFONICS BXI1208D----------1,200 rms All are 1ohm stable Im going with hifonics cause they are affordable but open to others. i only have like 400 for an amp.

I don't compete and would like a SQ/LOUD SOUND QUALITY setup and am having the hardest time designing a box to use. Obviously Fi recommends a sealed enclosure and that's what I was going to do originally until I started playing around in WinISD. Now I'm completely unsure so I figured I'd ask you guys. How do you guys think a 12" Fi Q would sound in a 2.3 cu ft enclosure tuned to 24-25hz as opposed to a 1.3 cu ft sealed enclosure? I can't upload the WinISD output on my current connection but I will after midnight when I get home.

im about to switch to port tubes instead of slot ports and i was wondering if i have 2 18" fi q's how many 6" diameter ports would i need. i have the box set up into two chambers at 7.1 cubes each. i was wanting to tune the box around 31-33 hz. i didn't know if i should use 2 ports per chamber or just one and what the exact lengthe should be.....ive used most calculators and they are telling me with 1 6" port in a 7.1 cube box the length should only have to be 6 inches, which doesnt seem right b/c i was thinkin more like 15-16 inches. shoot me some info thanks

Hello all I have just received 2 FI Q 12s dual 2ohm subs. Now I am having all kinds of battles with self over what to do with them!! 1st issue is my amp is a Memphis Belle 5ch. If I run both subs, my wiring options are .5 ohm, 2ohm, and 8ohm. The amp is not .5ohm stable, only has 600watts at 2ohm, and not sure what it would be at 8ohm(only 400 at 4ohm). Would 600 be enough watts for 2 subs?? I have a Trans Am so if running both, I would have to have a sealed box. Is this doable without changing amps? I have been thinking of just running 1 sub and selling the other. If I do, I could choose a sealed or a ported enclosure. I have read the sticky about enclosure size my qu…

Hello , Fi community I got my fi Q 18inch a month ago. I had some time to play with it.... hooked on a bxi2006d @1ohm Right now, it's in a 6.5 net enclosure tuned to 30hz with three 4x15 inch aeros. It hit the 35-40hz freq nicely, but i'm sure i can get more out of it. This summer, i'll be might be working on a way to use my wheel pit and get another 2ft/cu maybe. How will the increase enclosure volume help the Q, i mean in loudness and sq. I'm thinking i might get more prononced 30-40hz range, is that accurated? how much louder? is it worth the trouble fiberglassing the wheel pit??? Also, the 55-80hz range ain't loud at all, is it normal? i mean my old alpine type r we…

Q#2- I love very deep, low bass! I was planning on a box 3.5-4 cf ported, tuned to 28hz. Is setup going to please my needs?? Q#3- Should I have went with the BP option with my power available?? The trunk of my car( 1999 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI) has opening that connects the trunk with the inside cabin of the car. I was wondering if facing the port towards this opening instead of towards the rear of the car would increase SPL or hurt it. Will the air be pushed into the cabin of the car or will it just be trapped in the trunk bouncing around on it self. I will prob end up leaving a gap of about 3" - 5" between the enclosure and the actual opening because the trunk gets narrow towards the back. Would I have to place the port directly in front of the opening or would having the port on one side of the box facing the front of the car matter? Below is a pic of …

Went with 10" bl, cooled, RF t10001bd at 1 ohm, 1cf ported box, (which is tuned a little high, might take apart and add an L to the port to lengthen it and drop tuning a bit). Just bought a 200amp alt. 1/0 wire all around, 4awg on alt. Was wondering if i should go for a cap, read that independent testing puts this amp closer to 1500watts at 1 ohm and want plenty of aux power, for starting the car and what not. Also should I stuff the box? Been a while since i had bass in the car, but then nit was just a thrown together mismatch system with no regard to resistance on the amp or any other important factor for that matter..wanna do it right this time. I am getting the 15" Q w/bp power but my amp is a profile ap2000 and only puts out 960 rms bridged at 4 ohms. How can I hook up another amp so that I have about 1500 rms going to the sub and also some new 6x8's that I will be putting in?

would anyone recommend running 2 hifonics brutus 1606d mono class amps to a 15" fi btl sub at 2ohms and connecting each voice coil separately if no. why not?

I am running (2) of the 12SSD's in a ported box at right about 4 cu. ft. net and its tuned to about 32 hz. power is rated Zapco 1000W if I can get another cu. ft. What can i expect in the characteristic of the box? More efficent? more boomy? I do not want to make it sloppy, it's already ported which is a trade off for me to begin with. Or I might consider the max sized sealed box. How would you compair that to my existing ported box? thanks
