Hi all, I have, what I hope is an easy question.... I have a pair of fully loaded BL 10's, So I am using WinISD to design a box, and I have some missing driver parameters: Pe: ????? ( I was assuming 1000watts ) Le: ????? Z: ????? Any help would be most appreciated! I currently have them housed in a 2.56 cu ft boxed tuned to 28.33 hz that I built for my previous cerwin vega v-max's, and the FI's sound really good in it, I just want to make sure I am not missing anything by not building a spec'd out box. Thanks!

Found pretty vague threads on this subject, so posting my own. Just wondering how well the BTL would hold up on a T2500-1bdCP rockford wired down to 1 ohm. This is my first Fi sub and i don't know how touchy they are. I'm going keep the box within specs ofc. 34 Hz, etc.....upgraded the electrical and have a guy thats excellent at tuning. I'm not crazy with the volume or gain so I figure running this beast at 2500 shouldn't be a problem, but just wanted to make sure with you guys if you have any experience with this. Thanks.

Looking to purchase 15" ssd d1 and it will be powered by a soundstream ref1.1000 (1000watts@2ohm). Have always wanted to do a single 15 sealed. So question is; should my enclosure be closer to 2 cuft or 3 cuft. I listen to mainly, metal, rap and techno. Any input on what size enclosure will work best for my music preferences would be greatly appreciated. Thnx. Mark Oh yeah, car is a 2001 VW Jetta. If that matters. Cheers

So, i hate to be one of those bums that asks for help on designing a box. (help?? who am i kidding, i need full assistance) I have a Fi BTL 18 just sitting here teasing me while i earn my money for a refurbished SAZ 3000d. i thought as i was waiting, i might as well build the box. Space should not be an issue, i want this box to built for performance. It will be used for daily use. So my question is, what would you do? From my understandings, tuning at 32hz seems to be the mostly desired tuning frequency. Alternator and batteries are all taken care of, just down to the box. SO! if space was not an issue (cause its not! =] ), what would your box design be for a Fi BTL 18 w…

I am planning on ordering a 12" Q sometime soon. I have the design for a 6th order parallel bandpass enclosure. Tuning is 2.5 cu ft @ 32Hz and 0.590 cu ft @ 74Hz. My Q will have the cooling option so it will have somewhere around 12-1500 rms. I will be powering this by my SAZ-1500d @ 1 ohm. This is going into my 2000 Celica. My question is do you guys think I need the extra spider? The price is not my concern (just $5 difference). But I heard this option takes away from SQ, but I also heard that if you go over rated power on the Q, you need to add an extra spider. IF i do get the extra spider, how big of a difference in the change of SQ? Any input helps

Will tuning to 35hz be good for daily driving? Alot of people say that tuning is a little to high for a btl. What do you think?

I didn't think that I'd do this but. Heh, it happens. I'm a complete boxbuilding noob. I know how many cuft Fi recommends and how much port area they recommend. But, I've tried my hand at it and failed. But anyways, Here are my max specs. 49 inches wide 27 inches deep 16(I may be able to squeeze 16.5 out of it) inches tall I'd like to do the port either on the left or in the middle. But, since I have seen/read/heard loading problems I'm pretty unsure as to what to do. I may be concerned about being loud but i would much rather have my woofers happy and lasting longer. I love reading posts about box tuning and loading. Since that is probably the only area of car audio that…

all right so i currently have 1 12" bl 2008 model and im thinking up my new set up and im throwing some things aorund. i was thinking one 15" btl or 1 12" BTL but then i remembered that 2 12" BL's should be louder than a single BTL and i was just thinking how much louder would 2 12" BL's be compared to 1 12" bl. It would be 2 12" BL in a custom ported enclosure in the trunk of a little cavalier 2 door. it would be 2.5 cu ft per sub with 39 sq inches of port per sub and a tuning of 32, and on a rockford 2500 (be approximatly 1400-1500 per sub rms) compared to a single 12" bl in a 2.5 cu ft after displacment tuned to 34 hz with 39 sq inches of port. also on a rockford 150…

Ordering one x12 4 ohm sub today with BP Power option. It will be running in the 320 to 400 watt range. The specs call for a box .6 to 1.1 cuft. Why is there such a range and what is the difference if i built a box at .6 cuft versus building it at 1.1cuft? I have the room to build it to the max dimensions, just would like some more info? How do I figure out exactly what size I need to make it sound great? I listen to mostly older rock, 70's and 80's, but some newer stuff to as well as a little rap if it is a good song.

I found these specs ~4 cuft net tuned to 32 Hz 16" h x 40" w x 20" d Port is 14.5" x 4", 30" long. To get 30", you make the side port wall so it extends into the box until it is 4" from the back wall, then add a piece 10" long running parallel to the back wall. Box is .75" thick, except the baffle is 1.5" thick. I made this in sketch up to specs I wanted to see if it looked right. besides the port being off the ground i think it is. I am new to building sub woofer boxes so any help is appreciated

Driving along one day and my 12" SSD cuts out. Its in a sealed 1.1 cu ft box. I l=pulled the sub out of the box, and noticed that an internal lead on each of the voice coils has come undone and is frayed. (Photo: http://www.i.imgur.com/jCFOwGQ.jpg) I called the shop i got it installed at, and they said they don't touch sub repairs. Is this something that can be repaired? Am i Going to have to send it in to Fi to get reconed? Does anyone know a good shop in the SF Bay Area that could fix this? Also, after a bit more research, it seems this can happen when using an improper sized box. But i was using the Fi recommended 1.1 cu ft for a sealed box. But I do not have the…

Just recieved my FiQ12" need some help on box ideas measurments.. etc.. I drive an 06 Nissan Xterrra. I would like to build a box the slants at an angle "towards" you following the countour of the back seats to.. (larger on the bottom , to smaller on top with the front being straight , facing the back) if that makes sense...Ill post a measurement of the height of the back seat at the angle but if any one is an SUV owner out there you know what i mean... i hope...that makes sense... I am assuming an angle on the back of the box doesnt make a difference.. its the amount of air inside.. I also need some recomendations on terminals for the box.... I am open to alternate id…

Just yesterday listening to my system, and my sub went out. I checked all the wiring and nothing looks loose. And I don't think I blew it because there was no smoke when it went out. Is there an easy way to tell if it's blown or not? Or if anyone might know what is wrong here, please let me know. The sub is a 12" fully loaded BTL that I bought this summer. Any answers or suggestions are greatly appreciated. And if there's anything else that you need to know, feel free to ask. Thank you.

Eli.

Hey guys, as the topic says I have a problem with a SSD 12... the spider feels very weak in a spot like there is a crack under the top one. So my question is will it be fine to run like that? (i don't know how long its been that way but it worked fine till the day I took it out) or do I need a recone so it doesn't get any worse? Thanks

Never mounted an amplifier right next to a woofer before, so it i tried it. Currently I have two 15" Fi Q's mounted invertedly behind the back seat of my car. There was just enough room to mount the p450.4 in between the magnets of the Q's, which positioned the amp perfectly at the reach through in the back seat. Doesn't seem to affect any perfomance aspect of the amplifier, so I guess all is good there, maybe i got lucky, or maybe i'm just sketchin. Next item of business though, What about mounting batteries too close to woofers? Does it matter? Talking kinetiks here too, not some cheap lead acid. I wouldn't see why this would be a problem, but I learn new things al…

i want to get a 15" BTL and put it in a 1999 dodge stratus. i cant decide if i want a ported box with the BTL firing at a 45 degree angle towards the trunk and have the port firing towards the seats (i currently leave my back seat down, it is MUCH louder). OR go with a sealed box with the BTL firing towards the seats with my back seat down. i was thinking a Hifonics Brutus 2406 for it, which is 2,400 watts RMS at 1 ohm. i would get it fully loaded. PLEASE MAKE ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS YOU WISH! another thing is the new BTL's, there is no triple stack magnet!?!?!?!?!?!? it is just a single magnet, why would they to that???

I am planning to purchase a BTL 15 when they are available, i would like to know what kinda applications this sub is gonna be adaptable to. I had a DD 9515G, but everytime i talk to them via e-mail or on the phone their customer service is severely lacking lately. So i sold it. I would like to run one of the BTL's in the DD's place daily in a T-line Enclosure, and then in a standard slot ported, or possibly kerf ported enclosure for when i wanna meter it. What kind of options are gonna be available, and what the specifics of them. I went the the website, and the options and just complete overview of the sub is obviously being revised for the new model. Options i reme…
