All of my subs I own have the positive terminal on the left and negative on the right. Whether they be single or dual they are always in this fashion. I ordered a 15 sexxx recone for a se and a claw basket. I also ordered new terminals and wanted to make sure that I'm not going to install them incorrectly. My glue should be here in a day or so(I hope) and would like to start when it arrives. Thanks CJ

I'm looking at building a custom box for my 2 fully loaded fi btl 15s and need some help with the dimensioning. Im looking at have a 9.5 net cubic foot box tuned to 32-34hz with a solid wall brace in the middle separating the two subs. For power im looking at either 2 rf t2500-1bds, 2 sundown audio saz 3000ds, or a autotek mean machine 4000.1. Does this seem like a good setup. Im looking at putting it into a chevy silverado ext. cab of course with all of the electrical upgrades also. Thanks for any help

I was wondering if you could send me the exact dimensions, that would be the best for the 12" BTL that I just bought from you tuned to 32HZ? The biggest size box that fits in the trunk of my Chrysler 300 is 32"wide by 35"long by 15"tall, that is the biggest size box that we can fit in there. If you could help me out that would be great. This is the exact sub that I bought: BTL12 Ohm: dual 1 P_Chamfer: no Cooling: yes +$40 3rdMagnet: yes +$30 HiXmCoil: yes +$20 Daily_or_SPL: Daily Inner_H_Sink: not available Universal: yes

Could somebody help me to design an enclosure for the Fi BL 18 inch. I'm not good with the programs. I would like to let the box tuned to around 32 - 30 hertz. I'm gonna power it with around 1800W RMS. If somebody tell me the volume of the box and the port lenght and also the port area.

  8. I plan on building the enclosure per Fi's specs of 1.5 ft @33hz. The dimensions I have come up with is 14.5" x 14.5" x 18" using3/4" MDF this gives me 1.4937ft after subtracting the woofer and material displacement. I can add to the 14.5" sections of the enclosure if need be to account for port displacement. I'm not familiar with how to calculate port displacement though so I'll need some help on that as well. I planned on mounting the sub on the 14.5" X 18" side and would also prefer to have the port on that side as well. I just want to make sure that I get this right. I'm looking for maximum SQ but still want to have good output. It will be powered by 550w/rms in a PT …

Will 15" BTL's work in a ported box for DD 9515 subs. Port area is 165" per sub and port is 9" deep. This is what I was told to use for the DD subs. This is a SPL set up only. I know this is more than FI recomends for port area. Total box area is about 17-18 cubic feet.

Hey guys, first post! Haha. Well, I recently just received my 15" BTL in the mail. I was looking and it and noticed that there were no screw holes for mounting the sub to your box. So how do you mount it? Another question I had was, is there a special way that I should be breakin in the sub? I didn't know if there was a good way to do it. Thanks guys and appreciate all the feedback.

Figured i would post up design, hopefully i will have it built next couple weeks. We been workin 7 days a week, so as soon as i get a break, will get started on it.

I ordered recones for Konaki motors, if you can remember, I have the thread up in the General Fi section, anyway, I was wondering what type of spiders and coils you used in the recones construction. It looked to me like 3 spiders were used and the coils were copper flatwind. Also would like to find out what you guys would estimate the power handling (rms) of the sub would be with the soft parts you sent me. They are seeing probably 1200 watts each, which I am sure they can handle fine, I do not plan on upgrading my amp EVER, but I am wondering just out of curiosity what the rms of these things would be.

My current box pounds in the 30-32hz range and I love it but I also love to compete in local competitions so I need a new box for all out spl. My trucks frequency is 41hz. Can someone help me with the correct box volume and port specs for a box that will peak at 41hz for spl only? The subs are a pair of Fi Bl 18s. Thanks.

Hey all, bought a 15" Q last night to mess around with and have some questions. Recommended enclosure is 2.8 to 4 cubes and tuning anywhere from 28 to 33. I need to figure out where in that range I should build. I listen to mostly metal, rock, blues/folk and on the rare occasion I'll crank some old school hip hop. I know kick drum is front stage and I will get flamed for this but I still like cutting my subs at 80 to get some impact for kicks out of them. I have a Kicker sx1250.1 that will be going on the Q so it will be just a bit over the rated limit of the woofer. It will be going in the back of my 07 extended cab F150. I toyed with the idea of going sealed but I …

As titled says. my max dimension is W33 H17 D26 which I calculate would be 6.52cu^3 after speaker displacement. I have 6.25 round ports and I know its kinna small for the 15Q but thats what I'm planning to use. When I use winisd (i know) with 6.5 cu^3 and 2 round 6.25" port tuned to 30hz I got a 23.57" long. I know my calculation is off because I have not deduct port displacement but hope someone can give input. I know the box is kinna small for the 2 15 but thats the only space I can spare. Most online port calculator wouldn't allow me to calculate 2 ports. Also the sub will be powered by 2 SAZ1500d. Thanks

I have an Older 12" Q thats blown. I''ve finally decided to get it reconed but I want to build a ported box for it too. I see the the diagrams and cut sheets for the new Q, but i'm not sure if that will work for older model Q. It's also unfortunate that the cut sheets for that one are a tad too large for my trunk. I have a maximum of 30W 15H 18D, but depth can vary a bit. i was hoping on building the box during the time it takes to get my Q reconed. That should give me enough time to learn how to design a ported box. I have no idea on how to calculate port length and all that jazz. Thanks.

I opened my trunk this morning to find my Q15 had puked out a fairly hefty metal object and blew the dustcap off. I believe this happened listening to the sub well below tuning freq. (tuned to 30 hz. and playing "late Nite tip" by Three Six Mafia) What is this piece of metal and what purpose does it serve? You could stick your hand through the middle of the sub and this piece would have prevented that from happening. If this can be glued back in what do I use? CA glue? The sub still works but i want to fix it before playing it again. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

Ok, since i've got the new amplifier, I was looking into the bl's a little and keep seeing all these posts about them missing out on the low end, (ie sub 35 hz). Is this true? My enclosure is tuned to 27hz at 8.18 cu ft and the Q's perform awesome in it. I want to go with the BL's because they will handle a little more power than the Q's because I'll be running a IA 40.1. How do you guys think they will perform in that enclosure tuned to those specs? If they won't handle the bottom end like the Q's, I am also looking at the AA Havocs, and I've read that they handle the low bass frequencies pretty well like he q's. Feel free to chime in with any responces. thanks

I have a 07 Tahoe and 2 BL dual 1 ohm 18s on a hifonics BXi 2010. I was looking to add 2 more 18 BLs in a 18cu. ft. ported box tuned to 32Hz. I also wanted to upgrade my amps to 2 RF T2500-BDs strapped at 2ohms. My question is will this be too much power for the subs? They are fully loaded for daily use. Please help. Thanx.

so, i got an enclosure built for my 12" BTL (single slug motor) but the magnet refuses to fit into the cutout. i was wondering what the cutout diameter would make it fit. i can't trim the cutout because its only enough for the cutout itself since the box is 14"H with only .25" clearance on the top and bottom.

i recently ordered a fi q 10 and it came in today i hooked it up to my RF p6002 wired 4 ohms and when ever i turn the volume up i hear a awful rattling noise it sounds like it is coming from under the dust cap. i read through the forum and found another person that had the same problem and i think it said his dust cap broke the glue loose or something. if this is the problem how do i fix it? and what do i need to do to fix it? again this is a brand new sub and has never been used before. does fi even test the subs before sending them out?

  25. i want to get a 15" BTL and put it in a 1999 dodge stratus. i cant decide if i want a ported box with the BTL firing at a 45 degree angle towards the trunk and have the port firing towards the seats (i currently leave my back seat down, it is MUCH louder). OR go with a sealed box with the BTL firing towards the seats with my back seat down. i was thinking a Hifonics Brutus 2406 for it, which is 2,400 watts RMS at 1 ohm. i would get it fully loaded. PLEASE MAKE ALL THE RECOMMENDATIONS YOU WISH! another thing is the new BTL's, there is no triple stack magnet!?!?!?!?!?!? it is just a single magnet, why would they to that???
