Went with 10" bl, cooled, RF t10001bd at 1 ohm, 1cf ported box, (which is tuned a little high, might take apart and add an L to the port to lengthen it and drop tuning a bit). Just bought a 200amp alt. 1/0 wire all around, 4awg on alt. Was wondering if i should go for a cap, read that independent testing puts this amp closer to 1500watts at 1 ohm and want plenty of aux power, for starting the car and what not. Also should I stuff the box? Been a while since i had bass in the car, but then nit was just a thrown together mismatch system with no regard to resistance on the amp or any other important factor for that matter..wanna do it right this time. Any advice is appreciat…

It is 2.375ft/3 and tuned to 30Hz. I mostly listen to rap and some techno. Is this a good box for a Fi Q 12? http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=280672

I have a 12'' Q dual 2 ohm and it will be wired down to one ohm. I have a hifonics bxi1208d powering it. I wanna make sure i get my settings right on my amp. Where should i set the SSF at and the low pass at? Also since my HU has 4 volt output, should i set my level to 4 volt? As for the box, what hz should i have it tuned to. I listen to mainly rap and deathmetal...yeah i know complete opposites haha any suggestions will be greatly appreciated :)

  5. I plan on building the enclosure per Fi's specs of 1.5 ft @33hz. The dimensions I have come up with is 14.5" x 14.5" x 18" using3/4" MDF this gives me 1.4937ft after subtracting the woofer and material displacement. I can add to the 14.5" sections of the enclosure if need be to account for port displacement. I'm not familiar with how to calculate port displacement though so I'll need some help on that as well. I planned on mounting the sub on the 14.5" X 18" side and would also prefer to have the port on that side as well. I just want to make sure that I get this right. I'm looking for maximum SQ but still want to have good output. It will be powered by 550w/rms in a PT …

I was wondering if you could send me the exact dimensions, that would be the best for the 12" BTL that I just bought from you tuned to 32HZ? The biggest size box that fits in the trunk of my Chrysler 300 is 32"wide by 35"long by 15"tall, that is the biggest size box that we can fit in there. If you could help me out that would be great. This is the exact sub that I bought: BTL12 Ohm: dual 1 P_Chamfer: no Cooling: yes +$40 3rdMagnet: yes +$30 HiXmCoil: yes +$20 Daily_or_SPL: Daily Inner_H_Sink: not available Universal: yes

Figured i would post up design, hopefully i will have it built next couple weeks. We been workin 7 days a week, so as soon as i get a break, will get started on it.

What up everyone! Newbie to this forum!!! Just want some opinions on going sealed with my Q18s. I read a couple of threads on here were some folks are running their Qs in sealed enclosures and they seem to like it. Currently mine are in a 12.3cu enclosure tuned to 30hz and I pulled a 146 @ 39hz with it. Here a link to my current build http://www.*****.com/board/ind...?showtopic=3714 Vids http://www.*****.com/board/ind...?showtopic=8473 I've got good sq now but want better and I think going with a big sealed enclosure would do it. Want you guy's opinions! Thanks!

Ok, since i've got the new amplifier, I was looking into the bl's a little and keep seeing all these posts about them missing out on the low end, (ie sub 35 hz). Is this true? My enclosure is tuned to 27hz at 8.18 cu ft and the Q's perform awesome in it. I want to go with the BL's because they will handle a little more power than the Q's because I'll be running a IA 40.1. How do you guys think they will perform in that enclosure tuned to those specs? If they won't handle the bottom end like the Q's, I am also looking at the AA Havocs, and I've read that they handle the low bass frequencies pretty well like he q's. Feel free to chime in with any responces. thanks

Ok here is the email I sent to Fi. Just thought Id post it here while I wait for their reply cause they r so busy. I bought an 18" BTL a while ago and need some recommendations on the type of enclosure I should use. First I went to my local shop to see what kind of designs they could offer me and what they thought would work best for my application. I talked to the guy that specializes in enclosures and unfortunately he hasn't heard of Fi before. So I gave him the web addy to get the parameters of the sub so he could plug the numbers into the enclosure software they have. But, the bad thing was, it couldn't calculate the specs for whatever reason. At that point we started…

Well I've finally decided to stop being lazy and put my BL in my truck but I ran into a problem while figuring out the port length. I have a 12" BL and I want to put it in a 2.5^2 ft. box tuned to 32 Hz. To do this with 2 4" aero ports they are gonna have to be about 24" I would just do slotted but since the box has to be slanted down on the top and up on the bottom I'm not sure how that would work. So I'm wondering if i could just use one 4" aero or if there are any other thing I can do to make this work. Thanks

So my buddy has the newest version of the 12" Type R that he wants to upgrade. Here's the details, and hopefully I can give enough info. He has an ONX1.1500. He also has EQ'ing at 30, 45, 60, and I think 80hz. We'll make a ported box, but it'll need to be on the smaller side, maybe 3-3.5ft^3 net. His Type R is tuned to 33hz at ~1.5ft^3 net, I know that's not the only way to judge things, but he may want to go a bit lower on tuning frequency, maybe 28-30hz (this is in a 2000 Explorer btw, and any port frequency opinions for this sub are definitely appreciated). This dude needs a tough sub, he can be hard on stuff He wants loud, and if he goes on a trip, he may play the su…

  20. Since my second Q is getting here tomorrow, I thought why dont I start working on the box like tomorrow or Saturday since I have nothing better to do on those days.. So I was hoping that there is someone around here that is an expert at box designs and cutout measurements could help me on making a design and measurements then I'll build it... The box is going to be for 2 15 inch Fi Q's.. Ported.. I would like the subs firing upwards and port firing towards the hatch.. Also, I want it to be tuned at 32hz.. It will be going in my explorer.. so the max dimensions I got: Height: 16 1/2 inches Length: 41 1/2 inches Width: This wont matter, I got plenty of room, but would li…

Any reason my first SSD with D1 copper coils suspension is way looser than my newer one which is about a month older? I know there would be a difference because of the break in period and that eventually the new one would soften up slightly to sit like the old one but the newer one has a firmer suspension as oppose my old one and worries me that it may be a possible problem with my old sub. I got the first sub in february and the second one in march and have beating on them since day one but the second seems to have a better suspension than the old one? Please let me know what the deal is?
