I was wondering how much it would cost and if it could be done. I want to turn my 18" btl into a twelve. Can I just buy a basket and recone or will the motor need tooling? thanks for any help.

Could somebody help me to design an enclosure for the Fi BL 18 inch. I'm not good with the programs. I would like to let the box tuned to around 32 - 30 hertz. I'm gonna power it with around 1800W RMS. If somebody tell me the volume of the box and the port lenght and also the port area.

All of my subs I own have the positive terminal on the left and negative on the right. Whether they be single or dual they are always in this fashion. I ordered a 15 sexxx recone for a se and a claw basket. I also ordered new terminals and wanted to make sure that I'm not going to install them incorrectly. My glue should be here in a day or so(I hope) and would like to start when it arrives. Thanks CJ

  5. Hello, I recently purchased an Fi Q 10" and have it in a .6^3ft sealed box (Before displacement). I am running it off an Alphasonik PMA1200D @ 4ohms (approx. 1200 watts) and I notice that the output seems to be really low and kind of dissapointing. It seems to get any real output the gains have to be turned very high along with the bass boost (which of course in not what you want to do). At this point I am not sure if I should try it in a ported enclosure or if something could be wrong with my amp perhaps. Has anyone else had any of these issues? Any suggestions? Thanks, Jim

I opened my trunk this morning to find my Q15 had puked out a fairly hefty metal object and blew the dustcap off. I believe this happened listening to the sub well below tuning freq. (tuned to 30 hz. and playing "late Nite tip" by Three Six Mafia) What is this piece of metal and what purpose does it serve? You could stick your hand through the middle of the sub and this piece would have prevented that from happening. If this can be glued back in what do I use? CA glue? The sub still works but i want to fix it before playing it again. Thanks in advance for all of your help!

I am going to be building a new box for my 15 inch q because my current one is a little too big. The dimensions I am working with are 14high, 32 long, 20 inches deep. I am having a hard time understanding what size slot port would it take for this box to be tuned to 33hz. Since I will be going with sub up+port up, the port can be either 30.5 or 18.5 inches long(depending on if make it long ways , or short ways) but how wide, and long should it be? (would like to face them back but they will be too close to the back of the trunk....I can also face them forward). Also, current box is 14x32x24 tuned to 33hz....will I see a huge decrease in output with this smaller box?

My current box pounds in the 30-32hz range and I love it but I also love to compete in local competitions so I need a new box for all out spl. My trucks frequency is 41hz. Can someone help me with the correct box volume and port specs for a box that will peak at 41hz for spl only? The subs are a pair of Fi Bl 18s. Thanks.

I was wondering if you could send me the exact dimensions, that would be the best for the 12" BTL that I just bought from you tuned to 32HZ? The biggest size box that fits in the trunk of my Chrysler 300 is 32"wide by 35"long by 15"tall, that is the biggest size box that we can fit in there. If you could help me out that would be great. This is the exact sub that I bought: BTL12 Ohm: dual 1 P_Chamfer: no Cooling: yes +$40 3rdMagnet: yes +$30 HiXmCoil: yes +$20 Daily_or_SPL: Daily Inner_H_Sink: not available Universal: yes

I have 10 foot of it to go from the box to the amp, and while I haven't seen the sub yet, I'm having a hard time seeing 8 gauge in a 1ohm configuration on the coils. Will it fit? Or should I use 12 gauge for inside the box? (This isn't really a question about power...I already have 10 foot of 8 gauge so it's more availability. I'd have to go buy anything but the 8 which I have)

  18. I'm only going to be running around 700 - 1100 watts rms to the sub when playing music. Probally no more than 10 min sessions. And the sub will probally move no more than 3/8 of an inch in excursion each way. Will I have any problems with this small amonunt of excursion?

Ordering one x12 4 ohm sub today with BP Power option. It will be running in the 320 to 400 watt range. The specs call for a box .6 to 1.1 cuft. Why is there such a range and what is the difference if i built a box at .6 cuft versus building it at 1.1cuft? I have the room to build it to the max dimensions, just would like some more info? How do I figure out exactly what size I need to make it sound great? I listen to mostly older rock, 70's and 80's, but some newer stuff to as well as a little rap if it is a good song.

Hey all, bought a 15" Q last night to mess around with and have some questions. Recommended enclosure is 2.8 to 4 cubes and tuning anywhere from 28 to 33. I need to figure out where in that range I should build. I listen to mostly metal, rock, blues/folk and on the rare occasion I'll crank some old school hip hop. I know kick drum is front stage and I will get flamed for this but I still like cutting my subs at 80 to get some impact for kicks out of them. I have a Kicker sx1250.1 that will be going on the Q so it will be just a bit over the rated limit of the woofer. It will be going in the back of my 07 extended cab F150. I toyed with the idea of going sealed but I …

Guys, I know the BTL enclosure recommendation for the 15" BTL is 3-5 cubes net, however I also know that required volume is also dependent on power supplied. I was wanting to know if there would be any problems with running (3) 15" BTL's in a 8 cube net shared chamber enclosure? I should have roughly 3500 watts on tap for each sub, but I will not submit them to that much power, I was just wondering what I could get away with in terms of enclosure size? This is a daily beater.

Ok I got 2 18" Qs in a 12 cu. box at 28 hz. I know thats just barely the minimum for them, but thats the most I can go. I was wondering if I switched to a sealed box around 13.6 cu. would be more appropriate for these woofers. I havent heard what a Q sounds like sealed before so I was just some opinions on what you guys think. The box would also have bracing inside, so after displacement it would be around 13 cu. Let me know thanks ps..... the woofers would be facing towards the back

Will 15" BTL's work in a ported box for DD 9515 subs. Port area is 165" per sub and port is 9" deep. This is what I was told to use for the DD subs. This is a SPL set up only. I know this is more than FI recomends for port area. Total box area is about 17-18 cubic feet.
