I am trying to get a box together for my to fi q 12s & I am looking at about 5 cubes net (maybe too big for the subs possibly 5 cubes gross would be better?) after port, sub, bracing displacement tuned to about 32hz powered by saz 3500v2.I am stuck on port area or it was just less than I expected I could put 2 6inch aeros in but the length is what gets me. I was using the torres box calculator 5.57 per cubic foot & that seemed kinda low to me since the specs say 12-16ft per cu ft I know thats a general rule of thumb for slot ports but still. I guess what I need is some help designing a box my max dimensions are 19" Height x 39" Length x 17" depth. This is going…

I would dare to say I am pretty cautious. I have a 12" Q dual 2, cooling and all that, and am running a 1000 watt rms mono amp to it. I was just kinda curious as to whether it was possible to blow the sub with that amp or do any damage to it. I have the level a pretty safe setting and make sure to keep the bass equalizer down, but i would like to get a little more out of it. Any insight would be appreciated

I want another t-line in my truck. I had a dd 9515g, it didn't hold up. I will have 3kw on hand. What options on the 08 model BTL would get where i want to be with suspension, cooling, and power handling, as well as x max........If a combination of stiff spiders was needed then that would be ok as well. I just don't really know how well they will handle this type of application. It a 2006 nissan frontier(the big ones) xtra cab so i have a decent amount of room as my backseats are removed. advice will be appreciated. Jason

I've been searching google for a long time now, trying to find the actual formula. I have always used an online calculator when building my boxes, and ended up just building where I thought looked good. I was using this calculator here: http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=31 because I am wanting to build a new enclosure for my yukon, but I keep getting different figures depending on if the width of the port is larger, or the height. I want to build a box with 20ft after displacement so each btl will have its minimum 5ft. I was going to see how long I needed to make the slot port if I just stretched it across the bottom of the box. The box external dimensions are…

Hi, need some blueprints for my 15 inch fi btl fully loaded. it is feeded with aprox. 3 kw. the enclosure is used for spl competitions only, perhabs a flared port is the better choice. The woofer is going in a 1990 volkswagen golf mk2 and the car peaks at 52-55 hz. I'm of course ready to pay for the blueprint. The max width is 37 inch, feel free to the rest, it doesnt matter. Please email or pm me or just post in here Patrick :-)

I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD FIT 2 15'' BTL'S IN MY TRUNK. IF NOT COULD I FIT 2 12'S? I wanted to build a ported sub enclosure tuned to 32 hz. I ALSO WANTED TO KNOW IF THERE WAS SOMEONE I COULD PAY TO DESIGN ME A SUB ENCLOSURE? AND I ALSO WANTED TO KNOW IF HAVING 1 AMP POWER BOTH SUBS IS ANY BETTER THAN HAVING ONE AMP PER SUB (FOR EXAMPLE 2-2,000 WATT AMPS AS OPPOSED TO 1 4,000 WATT AMP? IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME OUT I WOULD APPRECIATE IT, THANKS, IM TERRIBLE AT MATH. My trunk mesurements are in the following link, I wasn't able to figure out how to post the picture. Trunk specs

Will I be doing a great injustice to my Q10 by only have 600 on it? It will be in a .6 sealed box. Amp is an Arc XDI600. I was trying to sell the sub but cant seem to get it sold, and am tired of it sitting around. So I finally decided screw the weight gain and am going to put it in my T/A. Thoughts?

Well I have been looking for a new set of 12's for my truck. I just purchased a dodge mega cab that needs some serious audio loving. I have (2) 15 eclipse ti subs that will not fit. I am trying to put (2) 12's behind the rear mega cab seats. I have been thinking seriously about buying a pair of Fi BL or BTL subs but I am worried about space for the BTL's. I have 60 inches of width 23 inch height but the depth is only 7.5 inches at the top and around 11 at the bottom. Is there a way I could build a ported enclosure with those dimensions that could effectively push 2 BTL's or BL's. I would be using 2 DEI Viper D1200.1 amps. I am very impressed with the BL and BTL line. I al…

Well, I've been looking to start my first real system, and I found a really good deal on these 2 subs. They are the 1ohm 12" Q's. I am pretty newbish and was wondering what configuration would be best (I would guess just wiring them for 1ohm final), and what amps would be good options to push these? Im still in highschool with a part time job so my budget is a little tight (but feel free to say what you think, I can save up if need be). Many thanks, Ben

My trunk is 14.7 cf so getting a 7 cf box in there can happen I'm just clueless on how to go about it. My opening is 19x40 Ball parking that. of course there is the angle too... Any tips or ticks to get this built and in there would be very helpful. Also I hope I posted this in the correct spot.. Also I feel havering the sub firing tends the trunk lid would be my best bet

Does the 15" BL need to be in a 4cf enclosure to work well or can it be used in the smallest recommended enclosure which is 3cf without sacrificing anything?

Hey guys, I'm pretty new to the car audio world, being that I'm only 16. But I have worked all summer and have finally saved up enough for my first system. I want to get a 12" Q and I want to build my own box but I want to get it all planned out before I start ordering everything. I have designed up a ported box that is 25"x20.25"x14.625" and is tuned to 32 Hz and has a net internal volume of 2.2 cubic feet. My question is how much bracing do I need to use and I know that it will reduce the volume, but what will that do to the frequency of the box?

Hello all, Havent been on the forums for a while but Im doing a new build and need some recommendations. I was thinking of purchasing 2 Q10" subs and installing them in .8cu ft enclosures. These enclosures are Subthump stealth boxes that fit behind the wheel wells of a 2010 Camaro. I have a few questions. 1) Whats the diameter of the magnet on the 10" Q? The max magnet diameter of this box design is 6.75". Will it fit? And do any of the build options change the magnet size? (cooling option. pchamfer, etc.) 2) The specs on Fi's website recommend .2-.5 cuft after displacement with the high qts option. The boxes I'm looking at are .8cuft. I see people on the forum talking a…

Ive got a Kicker KX600.1 that I'd like to pair with a 10" SSD to avoid purchasing another amp. The amp specs are RMS Power at 2 Ohms 600 W x 1 RMS Power at 4 Ohms 300 W x 1 Opinions on this vs getting something for the 1000rms rating of the 10" SSD

Hey. I am doing a 5.5 ported box in a hatch of my 1995 camaro, off of a hifonics 20006D, What Sub(s) would you recommend? I want the sub to hit the lows and be pretty loud. I was thinking a 18" BL. Tuned to 36-37. Or maybe 2 15" SSDs? Not sure if these subs will be suffocating in the box that is 5.5 without displacements.

Approximetely 1-2 weeks ago, I decided to I needed a new sub. There was a big upcoming sound competition in my town and I needed something to beat a rival of mine that had more money, and more time, haha So I knew Fi was a good place to go. At this point, i was extremely focused on beating my rival and so I decided to go all out with my power options (JBL BP1200.1) and get an 18" BL fully loaded. This worked pretty good for the competition. Didn't do as well as expected, but we tuned the box way to high in a poor guess on our part of the cars freq. it was around 41 and we were tuned for 47-49hz. still, we managed to hit 141.6 at the headrest with 1400 watts of power, stoc…
