I have two BL tens and I was looking to recone them but I can't figure out if it has a flatwind coil. If it doesn't can I upgrade to it without it being a problem? How can I tell if it has one or not cuz I need it but idk if it'll work with it

About to get started on getting a box for a fi bl 15. I have the space so was thinking about 4-5 cubes as one fi page suggests 2.8-4 and another 2.8-5? want to hit lows and still have it get a little loud and don't really know 100 percent about tuning but was thinking 33 hz ? Any suggestions I appreciate or input...power is a saz 1500d v3...thanks for your time

I have 2 mtx thunder 7801d amps and was wondering if that is enough power for 1 of the Bl 18's? If yes what options should I choose for the Sub? I know I'm going to need the daily option for sure, but after that I'm lost.

  12. My sub sounds like ass in the box that I currently have it in. Waaaay too much port noise! I am only running a single sub right now, but I will have two Q's pretty soon. I am in desperate need of a box design to fit my needs, my parameters are as follows: (Max Dimensions Given) Depth - 15" Height - 16" Width - 34" I need the box tuned to about 32HZ. I would like to keep the chambers separate, as it might be a while before I buy the other sub. I would like to hear what the first sub sounds like before spending more money on another 1. All help would be appreciated. You can PM me on caraudio.com under Qbenjamin.

I just hooked up my brand new fi ssd 12 dual 1 ohm sub and hooked it up to a kicker zx750.1 amp and put it in a 2.5 cu ft box tuned to 33 hz. i turned the gain 1/2 way and bass boost to 9db. When i turn the head unit up the sub starts to smell like its burning glue or something. any ideas?

Tryed CA glue and it worked well for a while, but its coming lose again. I was wondering if a recone was possible for this sub. BTW, I sent a email to Nick a few weeks ago, but didnt get a response, so I decided to make this thread to possible get a solution. Thanks.

I've read and read. Perhaps under the explaination of options, this could be added to the flatwinds description if it holds out to be true: Does Flatwind add power handling and excursion at the expense of sound quality?

So my buddy has the newest version of the 12" Type R that he wants to upgrade. Here's the details, and hopefully I can give enough info. He has an ONX1.1500. He also has EQ'ing at 30, 45, 60, and I think 80hz. We'll make a ported box, but it'll need to be on the smaller side, maybe 3-3.5ft^3 net. His Type R is tuned to 33hz at ~1.5ft^3 net, I know that's not the only way to judge things, but he may want to go a bit lower on tuning frequency, maybe 28-30hz (this is in a 2000 Explorer btw, and any port frequency opinions for this sub are definitely appreciated). This dude needs a tough sub, he can be hard on stuff He wants loud, and if he goes on a trip, he may play the su…

I have two 15" SSDs with copper coils, going to be running them off of a Kicker ZX1500.1. I don't have a lot of room to work with after I reinstall the back seats of my truck and all, and I was wondering if anyone has had experience running them in a sealed enclosure? What's the smallest I can afford to run?

I think I'm gonna add another sub soonish and am hunting for an amp. My budget will be around $150 and was thinking 500 watts total. I'm going sealed. I have ~160 watts on this one now and it gets loud which is why I was gonna add another with a little more power each. Or would I be better off just getting a bigger amp on the one I have. My budget may go up some just depends on the amp. Definitely not over $200. I have 4ga wire running and will need to put an amp on fronts. I have a 4 channel now running entire system. My car is a 2011 Honda civic systems in Sig. If I'm a noob and you have questions just ask

I have a 15 inch q with bp already, and I need a second one. Just wondering if the parameters will still be close enough that they can share an enclosure and be alright. The new and the old.
