I wanna get a box built for my civic but don't know wtf to look for. Ok some info I plan on getting 1 fully loaded 15" btl when they update the site, and I wanna run at the most 2000w to it. Right now I only got an 800w amp but I plan on upgrading to a rockford fosgate t20001bd within a month. I also wanted to go ported instead of sealed on the box and I'm not to sure what Hz I should go with. Damn I feel so loss but I guess we all gotta start somewhere. So I'd appreciate the help and if more info is needed I'll give it. Thanks in advance

Well, i've figured out that I can fit a 5.5 cu box in my trunk, now i was originally going to go with two 15" btl's but after taking measurements, it seems like my trunk would be more suited for two 12" btl's. My question is, which would sound better/be louder/hit lower freq's better in a 5.5cu ported box? they will be tuned at about 32hz Any help would be appreciated, thankss

This is my first time to mount a sub (have to learn sometime, eh?), so bare with me. The screw holes, when i look through them, i see the foam/rubber that extends from the surround. If i stretch the circle with the screw holes, i can barely get past the outer rim of the basket; making it impossible to screw the opposite side in. SO my question is, how exactly do i screw (or bolt, undecided) the thing in? I know to pilot/predrill my holes, its just i dont know how to safely do it.

Quick question...I've had my heart set on the 12" Q (after much reading on this and the BL) with my main intentions towards sound quality. Im putting this in my trunk of a jetta and my question is.....is the sound quality going to really be that prevalent through the back seats? Maybe i shouldve gone BL? thanks in advance

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/s...ke/boxspecs.jpg http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/s...tycake/box1.jpg http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/s...tycake/box2.jpg ok what do you guys think of this box. i am going to build it for 1 12" SSD fully loaded. i used re box builder. is it any good? i havent taken the corner pieces out of the total box volume or the sub itself yet, but i think it should still be within 1.8-2.5 cft. and i am wanting to know where i should put braces. damn, maybe after the braces, i would be out of optimum volume. also i was wondering if it would help if i filled the lil slits from the corner pieces with wood filler.

I was originally talking to Scott about a Q 18 in my h/t setup, but I have a chance to get a used SSD 15 instead. It needs reconed, so I was just wondering about the best coil for the recone, and a few questions. I was planning on asking for the copper coils with the recone, but I was just wondering if it would be best with my setup. I was goin to use one of the following plate amps with it, so around 500rms at 4 ohms. Bash 500 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-752 Dayton 500 http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=300-806 At the moment I'm leaning more towards the Dayton, but I wasn't sure if it was worth the price difference. Also cou…

hey guys... i am trying to find out the T/S Parameters of the Copper Coil Option. i was looking at the Fi site and thought it was weird that the BL rating was so low when compared to so many other drivers. would a very low BL rating not be ideal for Porting? i was considering doing a PR or Porting the box, but i was told by the guys at AE Speakers that a low BL # leads him to believe that it is not a good candidate for porting or a PR. does anyone have decent experience in porting the copper coil SSD and what results have you had?

I had an enclosure built and waiting for it to arrive. I am impatient and wondering what you guys think about the demensions. I got a basic 12" Q D1. Sealed enclosure: Width= 14.75" Height= 12" Depth= 15" Which is said to be 1.27 cubic feet "net volume" I am planning on facing the sub upward toward the roof in the back seat of my truck

I am kinda worried about something damaging my Q. It is going to be firing upward, toward the roof of my tacoma in the extra cab. But i don't want it to be in the way of the sub (excursion)

I was told I can wire this in series to achieve 2ohms. But when I looked up a diagram for the wiring, it didn't make any sense. can someonen post a link of a good diagram? The amp is rated at 1200 watts @2ohms. rms. I figured this would be a perfect match for the Q. Thanks for the help.

I need help with box specs. I have 4 BL 15's going in a 2003 tahoe. I want to face them up( at the roof) and have these measurements; 48 wide, 28 high, 36 deep. Can someone give me a box layout or cut sheet with port measurements to make this a winner. Daily playing tuned low 29-32hz please. Thanks in Advance.

Hey everyone. I am a new member but have been reading a lot of threads here for a while. I recently purchased a 12'' SSD with the copper coil option for my 03 S-10 ext cab. I plan on throwing the recommended RMS or more at it. I am now struggling to figure out what type of enclosure to build for it. I have read good things about sealed and ported for this subwoofer. My goal is to have a good sounding setup that has the potential to be loud if I felt the need. I want to build a ported enclosure but am afraid of port noise seeing the enclosure is in the cab with me. I can build a sealed enclosure also pending peoples thoughts on this. If anyone with knowledge on desig…

If I were to order 3/4 MDF boards from Home Depot. How much should I get? I want to get a LITTLE more then I should get, but not an overload of it. This is for a 20H x 25W x 20D box that will hold a 15" BTL. Thanks, -Curt

I'm pretty sure this isn't possible but, I was wondering if the Q series was universal. I have a Q10 D1 coils paired with a Sundown sae-1000D wired at 2ohms. I know that some of the subs you can change with a recone. Otherwise anyone know some magical way to get a 1ohm load on my amp haha.

I will be building my first custom box for a Fi Q15. I will be putting it in a 1994 Toyota Camry. The cargo space is 14.9 cuft, I will edit my post later knowing the actual dimensions I know there are a lot of experts on this forum that can give me some helpful advice on how to prepare the box and how to correctly brace it. I have used a layout generator online and I was wondering if these dimensions were suitable for it. Net Volume: 3.3 cubic feet Tuning Frequency: 32 Hz Port Width: 4.75 inches Port Area: 78.375 Square Inches Port Length: 55.25 inches External Dimensions: 28 wide x 18 tall x 26.75 deep. Color Count Width Height Top/Bottom 2 28 inches 26.75 inches Red 1 2…
