a single 15" MT in a 3.25 cu ft enclosure with 130 sq in port area and very well rounded interior of enclosure or two 15" MT's with only 50sq in port area in aprox 4 - 4.5 su ft of box volume assuming same amount of power is used peak frequency is 49 Hz if that really matters

As some of you are aware, I have a pair of Q15's sealed in a 4.4ft^3 enclosure. I had to build the box ackwardly to make it fit in a G35(sedan) trunk. I enjoy competing at local comps, but want to see if I can increase my output. I am pretty steady with hitting ~148db at the dash. My question for you box gurus is with the given specs of my sealed box only being 4.4ft^3 would I still get an output increase if I added a pair of external 4" aero ports (actually just pvc) and how long should they be to tune to ~34hz? Specs again: Sealed 4.4ft^3 (2) Q15's Desired tuning approx. 34hz using (2) 4" round ports What length?

I picked this sub for cheap and all I have to power it is a sundown that pushes 600rms at 2ohm just was wondering if it would be okay to give the sub such low rms compare to what it could handle. or should I just get another amp that does 1000 at 2ohm. Also I have kinectic batteries with a 120amp alt wondering if that be fine or would I have to upgrade it anything. 12.8v and 14.5 at startup i think.

Hello all... after a lot of questions i have ordered my last big toy...a FI BTL 15 full loaded (dual 2ohms) i have ordered a rf 20001bd too .....but at this time it is backorder :Doh: :Doh: so what is the best amp for this sub? new hifonics 2007d ? orion 2500d ? sundown 3000? please helllllppppppppp me

How much can these take cuz my saz-1500d is feeding them pretty well but sometimes it sounds like they can take a bit more power...???

I'm looking at upgrading my subs in the near future to a 15" Q. Could someone give me an idea on the outer box dimensions so I can see if a 15 will fit in my 1994 Mazda 626. looking for about the 4 cu. ft. net tuned to 30-32 Hz. I'm limited to about 17" high by about 30" wide. I assume with those dimensions I'll likely have to go with the sub facing up. Is there any potential problems with this? If it doesn't work out with the 15 I'll have to get a 12 instead.

i am looking to get some ssq subs whether their 12 or 15's i dont know yet. i want to get the amp first then the subs. i cant stand when people do it the other way around. i was looking at the alphasonik pma 1200da. the amp is 1500 watts @4 ohms, 2000 watts @2 ohms and 3000 watts @1 ohm. ive heard people say these are good amps but i want to know if the wattage is true. or even if they are crap. i would run the the 2 dual 2 ohm subs parallel to one ohm then series em to make 2 ohms combined. at 1600 watts rms for the two i would be giving them 2000 watts with the amp at 2 ohms. is it smart to purchase this amp or should i search around. can some one help me? or give advi…

what kind of enclosure am i looking for? i have a 1995 lumina, and now im seeing what kind of box i should go for. ( i have a very large trunk. ) i think my MTX JH55 is a 4 cube box. and i still have room for a little more, could someone post the exact and best enclosure for the FI BL 15? and is there any very good box builder for xp or vista? also could i get exact specs for the 15bl with cooling, daily, universal, and a red dustcap. ALSO would a hifonics 1200ixd amp wire at 1 ohm be ok to power this amazing sub?

Hey i just bought a 15" bl. i was looking around and everyone said a 4cubic box would do but anyone have any cut outs or exact directions. im not sure what i should tune the box to? hertz?? anyone have any suggestions!

Just wanted to know what peoples thoughts are on the aq1200d amp.. how are they? will they hit hard with the 15" BL ? i heard their rms output is unnderated. but listed at 1200RMS at 1 ohm

I recently purchased a 12" Q series sub. I am installing it in a ported enclosure and I am curious to the size and tuning. After purchasing the sub I found a deal too good to pass up on an amp that is a little underpowered for the Q. It is a kicker zx750.1. It puts out between 800-900 watts rms. I see on the pinned topic at the top the recommended ported enclosure is 1.8-2.5@ 28-33hz. With 12-16 square inches of port volume. My question is should I change the box size or port area since the speaker will not be driven at full rms power? I want to get as much out of the speaker as I can with the power I have available. I thought I would ask on here instead of calling seeing…

Hey everybody, I have a BL 15 dual 2 with every option except universal and extreme leads. I am currently giving the sub about 1400 watts RMS. I am pretty sure that it can handle this, but since it is quite a bit above the rated power I just wanted to be sure that I am not going to blow the sub (because it gets REALLY loud). I am sort of afraid to turn it up all the way right now so any advice would be appreciated. My amp is a Lanzar Opti2000D and my head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P6900UB (if that matters...) hey, i have access to some ED Ov.2 motors, and was thinking it might be a good start to recone. Can a drop in recone kit be had for this sub? the vc is 62.5mm which is right around 2.5 in. I would like something inexpensive and sq related. i read in previous threads where the older e12k (desjil) was reconeable for like $60 or something. I'm thinking about a having a box with the subs facing inside the car right behind the rear seats. I'm a bit worried though that the subs might hit the seats if it's not far enough. Any idea what would be a good distance? The subs are 12" Qs.

Just wondering what options I have to get this motor reconed. Are there any options I can choose to build a custom or hybrid sub or do you only have a standard setup for recones. thanks

Hello all, First post here, so be kind to an old-schooler... Looking to do a bed box in my Chev 1500 step side. Max dimensions I've got are: Width = 48 Height = 18 Depth = variable I'd like to go with 2 BTL 12's, dual 1ohm. Both subs will be powered by a RF T2500. Wondering if one of you fine gentleman would point me in the right direction with: Net Vb for common chamber enclosure... 2.65 cu.ft. per sub? Optimum vent dimensions based on a 16.5" vent height? Hopefully I provided enough info... I certainly don't expect a full design, maybe just some guidance. Thanks guys, C

hey so I bought Bl 18in dual 1ohm. Im using the Re calculator for a L port, but im seeing there are many variable s that i have to account for so if you guys can help me understand what to do. Its going to be tuned at 32 hertz So how much port area should i have? My demnsions are 37W by 20H by 15 D. How much box voulme should i have? And where should i mount the subwoofer can i have it on the same side as where the vent will be? how far from the vent should it be? This is the first time i have ever done somthing like this so i dont know all the terms and what they mean so if you could plz explain it. thx!

you guys think a 10 cu ft box ported tuned anywhere from like 30-34 is alot? i was talking to a guy about him builing me a box casue i dont wanna get into making one. he said around 10 cu ft. tho its also going in the back of a suv. but do you guys think thats alot for just a single 18 bl running off a hifonics 2k watt.im not gonna be giving it to much probly arounf 1200 to 1600 its got pf chamber and cooling -thanks

In order to get a 1 ohm load out of the 2OHM DVC, I wire the two negative terminals together with speaker wire coming out of one of them, and both the positive terminals with speaker wire coming out of the same set that the negative came out of right?

I recently totaled my car, so I'm selling the system to my cousin. He has an Explorer and where they're from, loud is the only thing that matters. Anyway, he's been entering in comps with two JL 12w6 on a old punch 500(or somethin like that, not sure the model). I have two FI Q 12 with Bp power I'm selling him, along with a Rockford Fosgate T20001BD. Size is not really a problem...he has the entire back of the explorer to fill if necessary. I'm just looking for a big box or whatever will get the job done to throw up big numbers and still sound decent. He said he put up like a 141 Outlaw with the JL's. Hi all. I'm about to order a btl 15 d2 with cooling, I heat ring, and high Xmax coil. I have a hifonics bxi2010d. I came up with this box design, but I want to make sure I haven't overlooked anything important. Will I get port noise or any other bad stuff? Its for the trunk of a 97 ford thunderbird. With the current design I have, the box would be lying with the port and the sub facing up toward the rear deck. I could change the dimensions slightly, any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. EDIT: link to image was broken
