Like the title says...I'm a noob, I just like alot of bass. so i just ordered a fully loaded BTL and was wondering if someone could help me get some dimensions for a box. The box can be about 35 long and 20 wide and however tall. I obviously want it to be ported. Also, I was checking out the RE calculator..Is that accurate at all? If someone has some box dimensions for a box they built themselves for their BTL I would love to see them. Thank you

right now i have 1 12" ssd fully powered in a ported box. it is 16X22X14. it sounds good and i listen to almost everything from rap to techno. I was wondering if it would be better to switch to a sealed box? i mean one advantage would be less used space. and which direction should i face the box also...

I have a 95 single cab Nissan pickup and want to put 1 10" SSD back there. I have buckets seats with about 10 1/2 - 11" of room between them don't have exact demensions and limited room behind the seats. If I have enough room I want a ported box but will use a sealed box due to the limited space. I also want to have a center console.

scott or nick, or anybody else that knows i have a question. i have two 12's that i bought in germany and being the dummy that i am i dropped the box they were in and one of them completely broke the basket all the way around! the woofer is still good i was able to line it up and push down and the voicecoil isnt damaged all the surround and wires are still attached. the speaker looks like it has almost the same basket as my fi 12's is it possible to take the woofer and replace the basket so i don't have to buy new woofers yet?and if so can you guys do it? or can only certain speakers be re-attached like this?

OK well, apparently the I didnt have a clean enough cut and the glue didnt hold my 1in thick dowels very well. The bass eventually flexed the fudge out of them. One came off and the other, well snapped... I noticed ever since around that time, the sub hits, but not as hard. Like its loud, but i used to have trouble breathing in or talking. Now I dont. Could the bracing have something to do with this since the box is flexing so much without it? Just a question is all. Didnt plan on replacing it.

Could you recone a FI SSD with a FI Q or BL recone? If so is there any advantage or difference?

I haven't built it yet I am just exploring options and found a design I kind of like. 8 cu. ft. tuned to 34 hz with 101.25 square inches of port. The port opening will be 4.5 " wide and 21.5" long. The box dimensions are 33x24x27.5 overall. It will be a crx style box , and will go inside of the cab of a 2000 chevy silverado. I plan on pointing the port towards the driver's side and have the sub behind the passengers seat. Do these specs seem alright to everyone? Would a different direction with the ports yield better results? Does that tuning seem alright or should I go lower/ higher? I want SPL but also enjoy the low notes that a highly tuned box sometimes lack. If any…

ok so one night i was sitting around thinking up some new box ideas. i really want to have my sub facing forward into the cab of my car, and have the port be on top of the subwoofer. so i was doing some concepting and came up with this, Box idea. I just want to know if it will work. i forgot to put notes so.... notes: 1. double baffle front plate 2. round port edges 3. 2.8 ^3 feet of airspace after all displacement 4. 3/4" mdf or particle board used. its going to be firing forward with the trunk sealed from the cabin. thanks, Anton Miller

I was just wondering if pictures and/or cut sheets would ever be available on the forum. At the very bottom of the Pinned BTL Enclosure Recommendations Thread it says that "Pictures and cut sheets for some enclosures [are] coming soon," however that has been up for many months now and I was wondering if they would ever be up. I just got my 12'' BTL reconed and am wanting a more simple design this time for my box, however I have not found any actual standard recommended designs posted up by Fi, and was just wondering if they would ever be made available. Thanks

The 15 inch BL box recommendations are (BL 15 – Ported box we recommend using 2.8-4 cubic feet @ 28-37Hz. Again use 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume) Im not exactly sure what size and hz i should tune my box to. I have one 15 BL fully loaded ment for daily personal use. Any recommendations on what will give my the best bang for my buck?

ok i plan on running 2 SSD 12's off a AQ1200D @ 1 ohm. the box it gonna be roughly 4.4 cubes depending on how much the aeros take up for space. what would you guys suggest for aero size? i know i would need less port area for aeros then say a slot port but im not sure how much less i can use. i was thinking 1 6" aero which would give me 28 sq inches of port area (6.27 per cube) or i was thinking of going with 3 4" aeros which would give me 37 sq inches of port area (8.69 per cube) now i know thats less then the recommended port area for slot ports but i was wondering if either of those would be acceptable for aero ports.

I was just wondering, if when adding a port to your box do I minus the width of port and then I'll have my true area of space the actual woofers will be in?
