I have 2 fi Q 15's (w/ BP Power) in a sealed enclosure (seperate chambers) in a 2000 dodge dakota. Each chamber is 2.5 cu.ft after all displacment. I have my gain set on my amp (AQ2200D) to 4 V the same as the output of my head unit (Pioneer AVH-P5050DVD). My bass boss is all the way down, and so is my subsonic filter. The max vol. on this unit is 40 but i usually listen to my music with the vol. set to about 24-26. I just installed the system about three days ago so am still "breaking in the subs." On my way to work lastnight, i could smell whats seemed to be something buring. All my bass levels are set to either 0 or normal. Is there any reason for this to happen. I kno…

Hey everybody, I have a BL 15 dual 2 with every option except universal and extreme leads. I am currently giving the sub about 1400 watts RMS. I am pretty sure that it can handle this, but since it is quite a bit above the rated power I just wanted to be sure that I am not going to blow the sub (because it gets REALLY loud). I am sort of afraid to turn it up all the way right now so any advice would be appreciated. My amp is a Lanzar Opti2000D and my head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P6900UB (if that matters...) i. I have an old Fi Q that I need to get reconed. When I cut up the soft parts and cleaned up the basket I. Saw it had "Q D2". I figured that would give away the time period in which it was made. I was wondering the power handling of the magnet, as I was thinking of reconing it with a BL recone kit. Could I do that with a Q magnet? I have a mmatts d300hc reconing it to a dual 1 would be my plan. Could the BL recone work with this magnet?

I have 2 mtx thunder 7801d amps and was wondering if that is enough power for 1 of the Bl 18's? If yes what options should I choose for the Sub? I know I'm going to need the daily option for sure, but after that I'm lost.

I need some 2 cents on my new setup which will be 2 Fi Bl 12's fully loaded. im going to have 2 1700 rms watt amps total 3400rms. i have a 125 amp alternater and a redtop battery. i was wanting to keep my stock alternater for low funds reasons. for now what can i use to power the subs? could more batterys work for now?

I have 4 fully loaded 18 btls in a 20cuft ported enclosure..dual 1 ohm subs.. I have the option of using 1 or 2 jbl a6000 amps to power them. My installer thinks that using both amps will blow the subs. He hooked up both amps and said the woofers started smelling. When he used 1 he said it was actually louder. I think he may be trying to save me from replacing subs over and over. Will using both of theses amps eventually blow the subs? If I get 2 more and put 3 on each amp will it see a 4 ohm mono load...something like the JL w7s? Thanks for any help

preordered 3500d. now ordering subs i want bass,sq is a plus but i want more spl. i am going a sealed enclosure in a lexus gs400 i dont know the cu/ft. what would be better 3 fi q 12 or 4 ssd 12. and are the q the same displacement as the ssd, because then i could maybe do 4 instead of 3. then i would know the answer to my question. the 3 q would be dual 2 ohm at 1.34 ohms and the 4 ssd dual 2 ohm woulds get down to 1 ohm. plus it's hard to decide because i dont know the final rms of the amp.

Im looking around locally for a place to build a box for 2 15's. Ive heard of a place called precision audio but I'm not too sure if they use quality material/planning/preparation/etc. All I know is they charge about 250-300 for a box. Does this sound reasonable to you? I know there are a whole bunch of variables but judging from your past purchases and stuff, let me know, thanks.

I got a guy interested in buying my Fi Bl motor, but i dont have a clue as to how much to sell it for. The motor is practically new with nothin wrong with it. Any idea what price i should sell it for?

As I stated in another topic, I burnt one of the voice coils in one of my 12" SSDs. One of the voice coils is still fine. I was just wondering...until I get the recone kit in the mail, is there any way to wire up my amp to just one of the voice coils? The reason I thought about this is I did the AA battery test (hooking up the + and - to the sub to hear the pop) and since that made noise, I was thinking maybe it could run off one voice coil. If that is possible, would it be bad to have one sub like that and one sub wired normally? Technically wouldn't it just be 1.5 ohms? My amp is 1 ohm stable. Thanks a bunch, Mike

I wired up my BL 15 D2, eveything is wired correctly but the sub barly moves... im powing it with a 1700 watts amp... and i set it right... is the a wiring problem or my amp? or the sub? any opinions?

Hey all, Today I just got my 12" BTL and my Crunch GP3000D along with my custom box and I installed everything today and to be honest I am not impressed with this subwoofer at all. Like when the subwoofer hits, it sounds like it is bottoming out and I dont understand why. I use to have 2 12w6v2s to a JL 1000/1 and it was hitting WAY harder than my 12" BTL. I just met my friend who I sold my w6s to and he was running them to a Kenwood amp pushing 600rms to them and they were slamming compared to my BTL. I just am not impressed with the performance of the BTL at all. It cannot pick up anything high at all. I know it is a SPL sub, but I have read tons and tons of peoples rev…

Hey guys i have a FI Q 10 that is run in .5 cu ft sealed its run by a Rockford Fosgate T2500bdcp. Problem is that when you get any kind of power going to it the driver seems to unload starts popping like its has reached the mechanical limit and this is what i would consider to be at a very low volume not sure what to look for to figure this out is there anyone that has had same problem. Please help really want to hear what this thing can do any advice would be apperciated.

I've had my Q12 for about 2 weeks now. It's been playing very nicely and hitting hard. But last night while driving around it started to cut out. It would hit a few notes and then stop. A few seconds later it would pick back up for a while. It's a D2 woofer connected to a Cadence TXA1000D amp 1ohm. It's wired in parallel. I turned down the gains and reset the settings to zero and tried to retune it. Now it seems like it isn't getting any power to the sub...I checked all the wire connections...seem to be fine. I'm lost and kinda worried that my 2 week old sub is fried... =[ Please help...

Just would like some info on how to tune my box correctly. I see these "port calculators" all over the Internet and wonder if they're even reliable.. I'm looking on making a slot port about 12.5"high x 4"wide. The dimensions of the box are 35" wide, 14" high, 20" depth. (outside dimensions). Thanks in advance

so this sunday, at a local comp i heard rumor that a guy was using a BTL N3 for a daly setup. I ended up seeing his name on the record board and couldnt believe it was true. The guys setup was a 18" N3 box 5 cubes tuned to 35hz, and he metered a 150.7 outlaw in a SUV. i was most impressed. I had the thought that the n3 could NOT play music daily, untill i heard his tonight. It sounded very good. i messaged nick immediately and he got back to me within a couple hours "as usual" and notified me that they can play music, BUT that him and scott believe the motor force is too great and will actually decrease SPL. so in other words you guys, the n3 can be played daily, however …

So... I was on my way home listening to my Q and it suddenly stopped working. I parked and left it on and felt the sub while it was playing. When I pushed in just a tad, I felt it move a little. But when I let off...nothing. I took the sub out and found that the black plastic piece that holds the push terminals in came un glued. Im assuming that's the problem... I tried to get a reading with my DMM, but I think its a piece of junk. It just read 1. My gain is at about half. Amp is a planet audio rxd1000d which im selling soon. 2.5ft^3 box at 32hz. Ok, I am used to building the everyday run of the mill square sealed boxes. I have a 4 door truck with the 60/40 split seat, which I will be removing the 40 section and building a box with an upward firing sub...but I am thinking of porting this one. My question is, can I run ports out of PVC that sit about 2" inside the box and run external under the other part of the seat? Trying to think of some options to possibly install a 15" BL instead of a 12. And the volume of the pvc pipe should be equivalent to the total recommended port in the BL specs correct?

i'm building two enclosures one sealed and one vented 3/4" mdf my dims are 17-18" high {could go either way a little bit more} 41" wide{also have room over the wheel wells if needed} depth as needed running off an saz 1500d i am looking for the best all around sound this will see all kinds of music at differing levels [daily driver, wife two kids} i'm not looking for every last .01 db but every once and awhile it will have to take a pounding would anyone be able to help me come up with a design for the ported ? any thoghts on the sealed, with those dims it will end up not very deep. is that a problem sound wise, with it being so slim and wide or should i make it more c…

Guys finally going to start building an enclosure for my Q 15. My question is: 1. What is the recommended port are for the Q15? I want to make the port as big as possible for more air to move out of the port. 2. Has anyone ever modelled the Q15 in WinISD as everytime I tried to key in the value either I will get some errors or different t/s value. I dont know whether my box will yield linear response. 3. Ok I have read many posts and I think its something I will need. The Q cant take 2000w daily I dont think. I want to run my Autotek mm2000.1. If I buy the dual 1 and run in at 2 ohms the Q will get 1500 daily. I dont really compete, just little local shows. I think that much daily I should probably get the BP option just to be safe. Does it take away from SQ with the changes that are made? Am I better off selling my amp and buying something smaller?

The ssd 15" does 21 mm xmax. How did you guys get 27 out of the Q15" with only 200 more rms? Also will it be alot louder then the ssd 15"? Its going in a ported enclosure.
