Ok guys heres the situation. I ordered a BL 15 with cooling and flat wind dual 2 ohm. I'm building a box myself and having trouble on what to do with the port. The box is planned at 3.76 ft^3 with the woofer displacement added in. Its recommended to have 12-16 sq in of port per cube so i need anywhere from 45-60 sq in of port. I want to just maybe slap a 3x6 aero port or maybe a 4x6 aero port. The 3x6 is 42 sq in and the 4x6 is 75. Both not in the range i need. Also looked on amazon and found precision ports 3 in and a 4 in round. Doesn't say the length on them tho . Reviews say there adjustable somehow. Help would be appreciated. Also wanted some recommendations on ampl…

  2. So I am trying to decide on which Fi.Q I want... Either the 10 or the 12. My plan is to build a custom sealed enclosure to sit in between the second row captains chairs in my Tahoe, and the sub will down fire. I am leaning more toward the 10 because of space constraints... the maximum size enclosure I can fit in there is 27" L X 14" W X 10" H... So would y'all recommend the 10 or 12 with that, and what cubic footage for the enclosure? Also, What amps would pair well with the Fi? I listen to some rap, but mainly mashups, EDM, and lots of rock/country (basically everything hahaha) Side question... I don't know if any of y'all have a Tahoe with the Bose upgraded sound…

Simply as the title has stated. Scott do you have enough parts to build another X 12 for me? or a recone for my current sub? or possibly just a dustcap and some tensil so i could fix the sub myself? What would be the cost of these different things if they are even available? Thankss!

I was wondering if the specs are close enough between the two subs , that can I use my old box (really not old, 3 months) to house my new Fi 18 inch BTL Sub.

Hello everyone. I am receiving a 12 inch Q for Christmas which I am rather pleased about because Fi woofers are class... I was wondering what I should do about a box, the woofer is going in my bedroom instead of a car but all the reviews I have read about the Q lead me to it. It will be used entirely for music, rock, techno, a little pop, and perhaps some rap to show off a little. The room is about 8x10x8 with a chunk removed that is about a 18 inches by 3 feet for a closet, so not a terribly large room. One of my questions is the great sealed vs ported debate, which would sound better in this application. The Q will be more than plenty in a room this size either way. I…

  11. I am trying to construct a ported box for the driver’s console of a 2007 Malibu VLX wakeboard boat. I would like to install an Fi BL12 and push it with a Kicker 1000.1 amplifier in 2 ohms. The dimensions of the box I plan to build are as follows 18” wide x 18” deep x 18.5” high. I am going to use a PSP (Precison Sound Products) port tuned to 32hz. Is this box size adequate for this sub? Will this sub be ok in this environment? (ie. 100% humidity, maybe a few drops of water and a little bit of full sun). Any tips and advice would be much appreciated. I am use to building only sealed boxes, so ports are totally unfamiliar territory for me, but I’m willing to learn. T…

These questions may have been answered before but a quick search did not turn up the obvious answers. I have 2 completely separate and very specific applications I'm looking at for 12" drivers (neither of which involve being inside a vehicle BTW) and I need a little bit more information to help in the decision making process. What is the motor OD on the Q series and the BTL (11.5" I think?) What is the overall depth of the 12" version of the Q and BTL? Also what is the motor only depth of both from the back of the frame? What is the generic xmech of both series? It's nearly the same I assume as baskets, vc od and suspensions are very similar. I figure about 35-36mm inwa…

Right now I'm in the middle of my build with 2 18" BL's with a Trutech Hammer H1 per sub in a 16cuft wall tuned to 30hz. After this I'm pondering changing to two BTL 18's with a DDZ1. Just wondering would it be worth it in terms of being a major leap over the BL's and the Hammers ?

any box builders out there wondering how much you charge for a box for 2 18 BTL FL, flared port, 13ply birch, 5-6 cu a piece shared chamber. dimensions would be 52 width x 20 depth x 25 height that would be my max dimensions give or take a few in. Another guy (Ryan Wallace aka Belunt from CAJ.com) was suppose to build me a box, but i cant get in touch with him now, and im trying to get a refund. but someone let me know something. thanks

since some of you knows very well this product i though it might be a good thing to ask before making a choice... i got a btl 12 that will run on a soundstream tarantula trx2000d... ive done the big 3 and im wondering how to maintain a constant 14.4 load to my amp?? plus a need a box desing. im gonna be using this sub daily for mostly hip hop and got a mazda protege 1999 with enough space in the trunk . i also heard that a square box aint the best option since the sound produced by the woofer would hit the back panel then bounce back troughout the cone area and produce distortion(by the way sorry for my english im french) is it true???? and thats about it thanks for you…

Lookin for info on the q18, you guys recommend 4 to 8 cubes for the 18 sealed. With ~1kw each would 5 cubes each be acceptable? I'm looking for them to carry into the upper range a little more so I'm thinking a smaller box would fit that. Toying with the idea of doing 3 of them sealed in my ext cab truck on a saz3000 for a bassrace/daily ground pounding application. I'm currently running an hdc318 on 2200w and it gets downright loud and I like the upper end response as well as the lows it gets, just looking to try something different. Always wanted to try a large sealed application that got loud both bottom and top end, just not sure if the q18 will do it, which is …

Well I have been looking for a new set of 12's for my truck. I just purchased a dodge mega cab that needs some serious audio loving. I have (2) 15 eclipse ti subs that will not fit. I am trying to put (2) 12's behind the rear mega cab seats. I have been thinking seriously about buying a pair of Fi BL or BTL subs but I am worried about space for the BTL's. I have 60 inches of width 23 inch height but the depth is only 7.5 inches at the top and around 11 at the bottom. Is there a way I could build a ported enclosure with those dimensions that could effectively push 2 BTL's or BL's. I would be using 2 DEI Viper D1200.1 amps. I am very impressed with the BL and BTL line. I al…
