To get right to the point I'm trying to determine what upgrades are necessary, and most importantly where to get this done. I installed a 200amp alternator, and 3 batteries with a single run of 1/0 from the front. I am wanting to run around 8-10kwatts rms, have about 7k now, and want to try to keep my voltage pretty steady. More batteries are in the plan when I figure out how to put them, but I really want some info on the alternators/wire. I have this on 2 btl 18s. I went to all the local shops here in Myrtle Beach, including alternator specialist shops, and besides the one that wanted way too much for a 300a alt, all of them said they could not get anything above 200amp…

I have never had this problem untill I started using my FI sub... So hopfully someone can shed some light on the subject.. When hitting major bass notes on full tilt, the amp shuts off and shows CUR..Which is excessive current. What is this and how the hell do I fix it?

I see that the mounting depth on the 15" BTL is 8.25"; so Im assuming the mounting depth with the 3rd mag would be a inch more @ 9.25"? Would 1/2" between the back of the woofer and the enclosure be enough to let the sub vent? Cuz 1/2" is all I can do

Alright I started on one more box last week and I am ditching it already. Well im going to finish it for my friends sub, and then start over. I need advice though. Its a daily driver, but I want it to go as loud as possible. I think Ill stay with 32hz 8 Cubes Box Design thanks to rpfuror on caraudio.com Round the ports And 45's in every corner Double Baffled Bracing Any other ideas? Will Sound Deadener(Second Skin) make that much of a difference in SPL score?

I haven't purchased the Q yet but here is the box. Will the bracing get in the way or will I be good? I'll get measurements tomorrow of how far from the hole the bracing is and how many inches in between the two peices if that would help. Appreciate it!

  10. Hey guys, can someone with knowledge I don't have give me a hand PLEASE! I'll be real grateful! I bought my 2 10" FI D2 Q's for this box for my 350Z which has a advertised inside dimensions that produce .70cuft per chamber. Scott's advertised cuft spec for these subs is .20 -.60cuft. So I'm about .10cuft over. First a couple of questions. (getting old sucks....memory shot! LOL!) #1. I think Scott said he wanted the .20 - .60cuft space for the box PRE sub installation???? So in other words don't use the sub displacement itself in the final cuft #. The box without the sub should be .20 -.60cuft. Does that sound right? #2. Obvisously I want the BEST possible performanc…

I dont understand, its almost as if the system has gotten quieter... I mean If I put my hand to the window, i can feel the air pushing on it hard, but the bag just vibrates like a mother fudgeer...doesnt move... I am always looking to be loud(its why i went with an 18) and although im bumping it up to another BL, id like to suceed with 1 for now. Any advice? Bigger Box? Different tuning?

The SSD is a great sub... The SSD is currently being powered by a SAZ-1500d on my stock electrical along with my beautiful Pioneer 860mp as the captain of the ship Anywho When I first purcahsed the sub I only had a 4.5 cu ft ported enclosure for its home and well lets say it was a great experience to say the least. 4.5 cu ft review: 4.5 cu ft enclosure didn't really provide the SQ that I was looking for but it was loud and allowed it to produce a substantial amount of spl. Very noticable to the point it would tickle my ears and this is one sub mind you had friends that rode in my car think I had 2 subs. I enjoyed the 4.5 cu ft enclosure but due to me having copper coil…

  15. I see a ton of pretty designs floating around was wondering what people were using. I Googled it but they all "calculate" various specs and I'm looking for a drawing program? Photoshop seems a little excessive for this. Wanted to draw something up and have you all take a look before I get all my pieces cut but the sub hasn't shipped out yet so I've got some time. Thanks!
