Well during our testing tonight we had ... a development. We tested two prototypes tonight and when we took the second prototype out the motor fell off. The prototype that survived was our mid-line prototype that we got in a few days ago. And in case I haven't posted about it, we are coming out with a mid-line speaker. They'll be available in 10's and 12's. So yeah, here's some pics. The first two pics are of the busted driver and the third pic is of our new mid-line 12.

Hey guys just had a question on what this might be. Me and sencheezy finally finished tuning the amp and getting everything installed correctly. I've got 2 12' dual 4 ohm Dcons wired at 1 ohm on a 15001d audiopipe amp. Today we heard a popping noise coming out of only one sub at higher volume. The other sounded just fine. Any ideas on what might be causing it? Almost positive it is not blown.

Hi. I am new here, and somewhat new to the whole car audio thing. I just got a 2001 Pontiac Gand AM GT, and was wondering what kind of speakers (not subwoofers) would fit and sound nice in it. There is just one blown speaker (rear right), and I need it fixed soon so I can start installing my system. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

As most of you may know, the BM's are going ultra-shallow! Ultra-shallow being 3.5" for a 12" model. The new BM will be offered in a 12" only with dual 4 Ohm coils. Enclosure sizes are 0.75 cubes sealed and 1.5 cubes ported. Power handling will be 500 watts RMS. That's all the information I'll let out for now, but here is a picture of the basket we are going to use (and before anyone asks, this may or may not be the color of the basket )

So I was thinking about it today and I hear a lot of mixed opinions on subwoofer size and its benefits regarding sound quality and SPL. I'd like to here everyone's say on this one between a 10 a 12 and a 15 what are the main advantages or disadvantages of each of these as well as say 2 10s vs. 1 12 or 2 12s vs. 1 15 or even 2 or more 10s vs. a 15. what would you gain vs. what would you lose. As much details and actual real world evidence as possible. Lookin forward to hearing some good responses. Have at it. Also you could vote for your favorite setup above.

I've been looking to get some components for my car. As I stated in another post I ordered the IA3.4 so I'm looking for clear loud sounding speakers I listen to rap and salsa and u want to be able to hear the trumpet and guitars nice and clear. Ice been told to get the jbl p660 and the tantrics and the image dynamics so what do you guys think

Just wondering what would anyone pick Hertz HSK Image Dynamics CTX65CS Sounstream RF -60c ARC FD6000 Boston Acoustics SR60 Audison Voce AV X6.5 I do not have anywhere to try any of these out Also . Is clipping protection necessary ? It seems to be in most high end componenets . My Old Orions Hcca would do this and it was'nt that loud .... Any one know of components around $200-300 great for SQ and handle lots of power .

I have about $300 budget. Thats maximum... Including me making a box. I was thinking 4 infinity refrence 8" subs... Or 2 10" obsidian audio subs. Or like one ssd 15... Idek if i could fit any of this in my truck where i want it. The back seat behind the drivers seat.. So i still need 2 seats in the back aswell. Its a toyota tundra access cab. I hopefully an getting a hifonics brz.1800 on monday for a bday presant... If not iv been wastig all my time thinking and hoping for it. I just got it from my uncle, it's an Orion 15", it says "The hott set-up" on the front, the sticker is pealed off the magnet so I have no idea how many watts it is or how many ohms the coil is, or even the model number. I'm not gonna try emailing Orion because the last time I did that, they sent me 7 PDFs that were all the wrong subwoofer, and then stopped replying to my emails. Anyone know anything about this subwoofer? I can post a pic if needed.

The prototype is in flight right now after being assembled and is scheduled to arrive at our facility tomorrow. The reps and I have known about the arrival for a few days but I'm posting this now to let you all know when the proto is scheduled to arrive. I'll take pictures and get them posted by this weekend. This weekend will also be the initial testing of the new Mag, and it's going to be a tough test! We're going to position the new Mag against the old/current Mag and our testing will be published complete with numbers of the comparission. Anyway, the new Mag proto is coming soon!

How does the IXL compare to the Fi Q? Output and SQ wise... TIA

I am a proud owner and representer off SSA line of subwoofers. I have owned the Icon and currently the Zcon, and have installed a pair of Dcons. All three sound great, the Icon being my favorite at the moment. The problem that I am encountering right now is the stress noise I am hearing on lower notes at higher volume. This first became apparent on the install of a local Dcon's. Where we began testing and preparing initial gain setting. His setup consisted of 2 12' Dcons on a single AP1500 in a sealed enclosure for his maxima. I need some advise for a friend, somewhat new to the car audio scene, with a decent amount of money... For about 300 bucks, he can get a kicker L7 15in sub. For the same price, he could get a Fi Q or a Fi BL (both also 15 inch subs) they will be recieving about 800-1000wrms. Any sugestions on which would be the best. He is more of a SPL guy (thats why he is leaning towards kicker) but still wants to get a somewhat decent sq from the settup? He listens to mainly rock and metal,(metallica to All that Remains to three days grace). the box will be custom made, probably tuned to 32ish hz. No shops around here carry kicker so we have never heard any of the three. Any suggestio…

I have an saz 1500 on tap and want the best SQ I can get out of it, and be able to play verry verry low deep bass with authority. I was thinking 18"s or so but the ICON is sooooo nice. I also thought about the last gen d2 mags, but a pair would be harder to find and I get confused with how I could wire them to not go lower than the 1 ohm load. What suggestions do you guys have? Any other ideas? It's going in an expedition 98 EB edition.

which of these two woofers will provide the best sq and the best spl? i want something that gets loud yet retains nice sq in a ported enclosure. i have an 03 civic and was going to have it front facing and have the seats down quite a bit but i dont know if that would be better than rear facing. i listen to mostly rap but occasionally rock. im going to power either one with an audioque 2200d. the rd will probably have the flat wind option so it will be able to handle the power. all opinions are welcome, thanks

Since I can attatch movies here and I seem to have quite a few. Anyone want to see more? I will post some as long as the mod's deem it ok. I just don't want to suck up a ton of bandwidth. Most movies are in the 3-5 meg range.

Hey guys, driving home tonight listening to my music normally @ around volume 22/60 The song "on my level" my wiz Khalifa played and it's probably one of my hardest hitting songs on my CD. I turned it up to 25/60 about a minute and a half into the song I'm at the red light and my sub was making a terrible noise! Like it was bottoming out. So I immediately turned my music down. When I got home I checked it out, everything seemed fine.. So I tried a little demo this time playing "Late Night Tip" by three 6 mafia and when the bass hit the sub was overflexing and "bottoming out" this time volume was only @ 21. I checked amps gains wires and batteries and everything was fine..…

Hey guys im just wondering are there any quad stacked magnet subs out there? Im just curious and im sure other people are too.

So my xcon has been getting hot lately only after 30 mins of play on 1100 rms. Voltage stays anywhere from 13-14 while its bumping. Gain isnt even halfway up and there isnt really any distortion. Anybody have experience with this or am i just paranoid? Thanks
