Subwoofers / Speakers

I am having a problem finding the right amp for my 1 image dynamic 15 idq dual 2ohm subwoofer. I want about 600 watts rms at 4ohms mono. I looking at a us amp ax600, and a kicker sx600.2 right now. I also like orion and mtx as well but not sure which amp to go with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

yeah..the box was made by fine custom works, and is 4 ft^3, tuned to 32 hz. i didn't take any excursion porn pictures...im still only running it with a crappy power acoustik 900 watt amp with the gains turned down low, but it still gets so loud and stays so clean. my old subs (don't laugh, audiobahns) sounded like crap compared to this. when i'd turn them loud, i'd hear popping and it sounded terrible. these sound so much better. im surprised at how good the sq is on this 15"...i always heard that 15"s were a little sloppier than 12"s, but they definately are not like that at all.

If a 12" needs 1.75 cubes and has a displacement of .12, does the same model 10" need 1.4 and has a displacement of .096? Do you multiply 1.75 & .12 by .2 because there is a 20% size increase from 10 to 12?

If I wall it off in my truck, the subs will go right into my seats. Will they still sound loud this way or does all the sound go into my seats?

this is not for debating or anything im just curious and want to know everyones opinions if you got to pick a single sub setup and had the room for one 18 and the amp to power it what would you go with?

I have enough airspace to properly port either (2) 12"s or (1) 18" subwoofer. I would like to spend 900 or less on just the subwoofer(s). What would you choose? It will be ran on a sundown 3500D.

i couldnt take it no more guys! i was dying from the inside out because i was missing my favorite hobby of all. while i was half waisted last night (not trying to brag) i got to watching all my old videos of the hccas and zcons... so i got on craigslist this morning and hit a dude up. i ended up trading the 3 OS vfl 10s i had and $50 for 2 kicker l5 12s in a box. now before everyone starts in on the whole kicker thing, i dont have enough $ to get some nice sundown or ssa stuff.. the l5s are just a start. i have like $120 in them so i dont think thats bad at all... so glad to be back in the game!! And they are MINT condition...

hey. im buying 2 Kickedr L7's (the all black ones. i think 2009...? idk) after school today. and im getting a great deal. ($200 for both) he said they were only used for 2 weeks. but u never kno. he still has the boxes. i dont have an amp to test them. but when i asked him if it was ok if i brought one to test them...he said it was fine. so im assuming hes not BSing me. i think $200 is a great deal. what do you guys think? also, i will either be getting a kicker 750.1 and use one sub. or a 1500.1 and use both. i dont have the money to updrage my alternator...or get an extra batt, any opinions on that? its going into a 1994 Toyo…

So there's way too many new products coming out and I don't know what I want to try. I want a good clean sounding system, but I'm a bit of a bass head and do like to crank the bass. I have a Q12 sealed in my other car and like the sound and how low it goes, but I want to look at other things. I drive a Magnum and could get two 15's or something big no problem, but other than lots of bass my goal is to stay low profile so I still have cargo room AND i'd like to keep the spare. So I'm thinking either in floor low profile or something that only comes slightly out of the floor. i seen this one time in a lincoln towncar, made a center channel with two 3 inch subs, and for mids, anyhow i cant seem to find any one that makes 3 inch subs, so i turn to SSA<

ok well i have decided to go SQ for my system... i wanna know what the best speakers would be for this... i need 2 5.25" speakers and 2 4" speakers.... right now i am using the infinity reference speakers and they sound pretty good i was wondering what might be better then these... price doesnt matter and im gonna fit up an amp that will match the specs of the speakers.

whats should i go with dd or nightshade would be four 12's of ether. being pushed but two saz 3000d's strapped

I've been in the market for some new boom for a long time now. For the last couple years I had two ten inch L5's doing the duty for me. I'm about to purchase three id 10v3's but it doesn't seem like many people on any boards these days are running ID. I do stupid things with my money, and I want to make sure these are worth the 120/ea or whatever I'm gonna pay. I was going to go with two RL-P 12's but that'll cost an extra hundred dollars....anyone think it's worth the wait/saving? What are your guys thoughts on the ID Max 12'. What do you think of the company. and is the sub more for big bass or sound quality? Would 500 watts of JL be enough. Found it for $358 on http://www.cardomain.com/item/IDSIDMAX12V3D4. Is there any where cheaper?

Does anyone own these components ? The have a closeout deal on these only a few bucks more then the ctx models

Which one would be the best at 600-700W at 2Ohms in an SUV. Which one would be the overall winner on comparing the lows, distortion, mechanical noise, efficiency, how musical it is, how clean it sounds. Basically for an SQ build I'm gonna look into very soon. Other suggestions in the price range are welcome.

hi, what you think of this subs ID-12D2 or anything better? it has to be 12 inches and dual 2 OHM, arround 400 W RMS and near $150 shipped i looked Boston acoustic G2 but it only comes 4 OHM, i want LSQ

alright, so i went back to the drawing board and got rid of the stuff i already bought. i have since purchased 2 new sets of Pioneer Tweets that come with the stage 4 system and i am thinking about getting these mids to mate up with them. i will be running them active with an Alpine INE-S920HD with the Imprint processor. what do you guys think about this set? i really liked how the tweeters sounded thats why i bought them.

I want to get rid of my factory speakers, at least the front ones for now (in the future, ill get another pair for the rear). I originally intended to go for the alpine type X, but then started digging more choices and ended up with a few recommendations. These included image dynamics, diamond audio, and the alpine type x themselves. Now, I have heard the Image dynamics are REALLY GOOD. Easy choice over the type X. so i'd say about 4-6months ago i thought i damaged my RF power hx2 15 and was looking for a recone. it was making a noise like tinsel slap or dustcap rattle. i found a recone w/ coil and suspension upgrade to the team fosgate version. but i built a different box and it stopped makin noises so i thought it was the box. my box is way to big for my current car so i pulled the sub out, put the box in the garage and noticed this befor i put the sub up in the closet btw since its been a blown coil this whole time, the other working coil has been taking an saz1500 at full power...... the reason for the coil issue was i went a lil to hard on the sub when i got the saz1500......…

So I've always noticed the impeadence/graph phases on most (good) subwoofer companies manuals, but I've never understood necessarily how they worked. Of course I know what impeadence and phase meant, but not too sure how it works on this graph (the frequency on the X axis, resistance on Y). To my understanding, it has to do with backpressure in the intended enclosure, so at the certain frequency where the resistance peaks that is where the backpressure in the enclosure its meant for peaks? And as for phase I guess thats just saying that 1 line is at 0 degrees and the other is at 180? But thats my guess whether its right or wrong the factor of backpressure? I've been getti…

is there any relation? ie. would two subs showing an impedance of 4 ohms have a better chance at SQ than two subs showing 1 ohm
