ok i have been reading back through several posts on this forum and others, and i have some questions regarding ssa subs. from what i read most people consider the icon to comparable to the fi ssd and i have seen people comparing the xcon to the q mostly a few have said its like a bl..is this pretty acurate? i was truly considering a 18 xcon but if its more toward a sq sub thats not really the way i want to go. But if its more like the bl i am more likely to order it. Still torn between a few different subs but keep coming back to thew xcon for some reason. thanks

Looking at a dc audio lvl3 15"- would i be able to get good sq out of this if i put it in a sealed box?

Just got my new 2ohm dvc sub yesterday an threw it in my new box for 2 subs Immediately saw that new one flexed much more then other one. Pulled each out an tested them an here what I found.. Sub 1 has 2ohm at each coil Sub 2 has .6 at each coil I tested each sub in series by itself an got this.... Sub1 4ohm Sub2 1.6 ohm Sub 2 is bran new out the box to btw... any ideas?

hey. im buying 2 Kickedr L7's (the all black ones. i think 2009...? idk) after school today. and im getting a great deal. ($200 for both) he said they were only used for 2 weeks. but u never kno. he still has the boxes. i dont have an amp to test them. but when i asked him if it was ok if i brought one to test them...he said it was fine. so im assuming hes not BSing me. i think $200 is a great deal. what do you guys think? also, i will either be getting a kicker 750.1 and use one sub. or a 1500.1 and use both. i dont have the money to updrage my alternator...or get an extra batt, any opinions on that? its going into a 1994 Toyo…

my coworker just got in some Xtants. they are 10" and he is running 150W off a JL 5 channel amp and they sound quite nice, clear, linear, and smooth. not as loud as i would like but quite musical. I am running my home computer sub in my truck off my Viper 2500.1D in my truck right now while i decide on new subs. it is far more musical and flat than my SP4 was and while - at the time - i wanted to have ultra low and super loud i feel i have experienced that and wish to build a much more musical system. the sub i have in my truck right now is this one, purchased when i was 16 and has been used for many years, it is in a 4.7 cubic box tuned to 35Hz and i want my new subs to…

Let's talk about subwoofers in general, which way will it perform the best, subs facing upwards(the roof) or facing towards the rear end? just wondering since i ve seen a lot of people doing upwards around here.. unless i just dont notice anyone that points their subs towards the rear end..

hello. well iv narrowed my choices down to the ones above. i will have them running on a kicker zx1500.1, 4 gauge wireing, in a ext. cab ranger i want a little of both ( SQ and SPL) i dont want to spend over 325 max.

Does anybody have any experience with this driver? Does it sound decent? They are inexpensive and are supposed to be fairly nice drivers i was looking at pickin up two 10" and tossin each 1100w How would they stack up to two fi BL 10"?

Ok real simple. Wall in a first gen two door Blazer. 2x18"subs. I will buy the apms accordingly and have plenty o' space for a build. Back seat is out and will be staying out. Now would you go with the DP 18's or the new xcon 18's? I'm torn. Don't want a SPL only machine. Just a groundpounder.

I have had my ascendant havoc 12 for about a month. Recently I decided that it was broken in enough to see what it could do. I set my gains again, this time with the dd-1, but when I turn the volume up a little it sounds like it is bottoming out. I have a t1500-1bdcp that's rated at 1900 Watts rms at 1 ohm. I thought for sure that the havoc would take that much power and not bottom out. Could the noise be something else? or is it really maxed out?

Hey Gents! Could you please give me speaker recommendations for an active 2 way front stage? I want to run 1 set of tweeters where the tape measure is in this pic: 2" OD is probably the largest I'd like to mount here. Ok so I see a lot of conflicting answers regarding a small box if you plan on over powering your sub. Be believe in it, others say it's a lie. My question is if you're gonna over power a sub. What would be considered smaller ? I'm thinking about 2 15s. They call for 3-4 ft3 but I'm thinking of putting them in a 5 ft3 box. After displacement and port. Im looking into the sp4v2 and putting them on a hd8k. I know they are underrated. And the taramps is over the rms slightly. So I wa wondering if this will work out well. Before anyone freaks out we are still going to make subwoofers but we cannot use the name "Magnum" anymore. A Corporation called Mitek owns the rights to the word "Magnum" in car audio, so we cannot use it. This last batch of 12's and 15's that was just made will be the last speakers with "Magnum" on them. so i've googled everything i could think of with minimal results. so i'm asking you guys anyone know a good place to buy any and all parts needed to build/repair subs at decent prices? and im really looking for the tall arc shaped extended displacement surrounds, prefer rubber but foam will do. also looking for all other parts also. if anyone can help it would be much appreciated

Does anyone know the exact outter diameter of the hcca 15? Cant find it anywhere and doing a blowthrough for someone and its going to be a tight fit

A number of folks have been asking when the SPL-15 would be available. Given the existing sales of the current SPL-12, I am finding it difficult to justify the added expense for another driver in the line. I am however, open to doing a small run of SPL-15's provided there is commitment from those folks who are interested in acquiring one (or two or three...). To picture of what the SPL-15 would look like, imagine the beefiness of the SPL-12, only in a bigger version. There, simple wasn't it? As the title states... Im looking for the recommended box sizes for the subs (both sealed and ported). The place where they should be listed on Sundown's website are all blank. Tried searching as well... but no luck. I at least found the displacement on the 10" is .25 Thanks in advance for your help fellaz!

i recently picked up 2 15 inch RE destroyers...i thought they were MT's that had a recone. come to find out they are not lol. Apparently RE made 24 Destroyers. they are very similar to a MT with the same basket only painted dark gray metallic and have a slightly bigger motor. suppossedly they have 4 inch voicecoils and have to spl of a MT but better SQ too...only 24 EVER MADE! any info on these would be great cuz i know absolutley nothing about them other than they were used in comps by team toxic bass

My subs have arrived! CD on dustcap to show how big this thing is! Comparison pics. IXL beside a Pioneer TS-W384 15 inch woofer. I'll be starting my sub build pretty soon. I'll be going with 12 cubic feet tuned to 16 hz. This is a lot of sub for the money. I'm looking forward to getting these subs built and installed in my home theater!!!!

I just wanted to take a sec to thank Nick and everyone else accociated with Stereo Integrity. You guys make a great product for an excellent price. I have installed the mag in a temporary install. After breaking it in lastnight it was put into a 1.7cu.ft. sealed enclosure(before sub displacement). I am running a memphis 1000d to it. Going from 2 subs to one I will admit I lost some output, BUT, and I mean but, what I lost in output I drastically gained in low end extention and accuracy. Which is fine to me. I have ear problems anyways. Now in total I have about 1 hour listening time on it due to and unexpected amp problem (for some reason the amp goes into thermal p…
