hey iv had my dcon 12 in a sealed box that is a little too small for it, and im now looking for a ported box that is big enough to get the job done. i want loudness. im trying to stay cheap as possible, limited on money. its in a 94 blazer pointed back right now. i found a ported box on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-0-FT-3-TUNED-32Hz-SLOT-VENTED-CUSTOM-MDF-BOX-ENCLOSURE-for-12-INCH-SUBWOOFER-/400334071728?pt=US_Speaker_Sub_Enclosures&hash=item5d35c527b0 how is that?

  3. well i think i'm pretty much sold on SI subs now. Since my car's setup is out of commission for a bit while i redo the wiring and install, i took the Magnum over to my friends who just got a SX. I always wanted to see how the SX and Magnum compared and finally got to see. The SX is an admirable sub but i think the Magnum was a little bit much for it. While the average SPL could be considered equal, the Magnum seemed to want to be abused much more than the SX. also the SQ on the magnum never really seemed to waiver while the SX had problems on really tough bass songs like the "woofer cooker" and even Perfect Circle's Lullaby and song 11 or 12 on ....(crap don't rememb…

I have a buddy that had someone put his system together and they put in RF P1 10's. How much better would it be to recommend a DCON instead (SQ and SPL)? One thing also, is the P1's are single 4 ohm and he has a 600d1 or something, so my guess is 600rms at 1ohm. right off the bat, I would think the DCON's would be better, because he can get them in dual 4's, and run it at 1 ohm. (he does have 2 10's) Any experiance would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to look like an idiot if I gave him the wrong answer.

Ok guys I got 2 10'' JL w0's (old ones), they beat pretty good in my truck (ext. cab sonoma), but it is time for bigger and better things. My buddy has 3 12'' JL w0's (also old ones) that I am buying, but 2 of them are 4ohm and the other is 8ohm. I have 2 amps to use. I'm not sure if I should run all 3 12's ( 8ohm on one amp and 2 4ohm on the other), or run the 2 4ohm 12's with my 2 4ohm 10's. Either way I will build a sealed enclosure with each one in its own chamber. I'm just open for suggestion. Got alot of stuff and don't know what to do, any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Planning on pairing one or the other with the L1 and taking advantage of the group buy. My question becomes which is going to be better for my application? I'm quite sure that I can fit the L3 in the A-pillar, not so sure about the L4. The tweet will likely be an A-pillar install either way. The L3 would be a pretty simple install the L4 not so much. I'm not sure that I need the extra top end of the L4 since it will be paired with a tweet. Through the midrange freqs (say 250hz-10k) is the L4 worth the extra money and install hassle? I should be able to get the L3 much more on-axis if that matters. Thanks for any inputs.

  7. It's time for something new, and I'm thinking that I'd be better off buying a pair of more efficient, daily oriented 18's than buying a second 9518g and underpowering it with 2k each. My amp is a Memphis 4kw, and I'm looking for a pair of 18's along the lines of a Level 4 XL, Death Penaltys, Fi BLs, Nightshades... something like that. I don't compete, so I just want loud to the ear. How would these type of subs compare to a pair of 9518g's on only 2k each, and does anyone know of someone selling 1 or 2 of these 18's?

At the moment i have a Kicker l7 12" running on a saz-2000D and I'm thinking about upgrading. This Setup is in a 97 Ford taurus Wagon i have space about 40X21(possibly 34if i sacrifice the entire cargo area). My budget is about 250-400. I'm just looking for something to take full advantage of this amp Thanks for the help! EDIT: Suggestions on which way i should point the ports and box demensions and all are welcome too. I'll post pictures tomorrow to give you a better idea of what i have to work with. I mostly listen to hardcore with alot of lows during breakdowns and some rap too. Thanks again!

I'm looking for a sub to go with my amp its a da7232 old school. Last time I used it was on a nightshade 12 v2. The setup wasn't optimal so I'm not sure on its performance. The amp is dual mono 2 ohm. Suppose to put out around 1k per channel not bridgable obviously. It will be going in the back of a suburban behind the 3rd row. So I have a decent amount of space but not unlimited. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hey all. not sure if my sub is bottoming out or i have the settings done incorrectly. its an sa-8 running at 2ohm 500watts. during some songs it sounds like the sub is banging into something but if i turn the volume down it stops. box is a .75 ^3 tuned to 34hz designed by ram designs. this is my first attempt at a stereo install in over 10 years so im sure its something ive done. gain is set to half on the dial and sensitivity is at 3/4. Amp is an alpine mrd500. Any thoughts? Thanks kevin i

I'm currently running an 05 XXX 15 in a sealed 2.2 cubic foot enclosure, power by my Linear Power 2.2HV @ 8ohms...I'd guess about 800 watts rms. The output is great, however, the added weight of a 55lb driver and I guess another 20-30 for the box is whats killing me. So I think I've decided to run 2 10s or 2 8s, though good 8s are hard to find, and I don't want to run an Rl-i, I've used TC products before and weren't too impressed with them. I'm kinda leaning towards an Icon or SSD/Q, but am having a hard time deciding. I listen to heavy metal, so large amounts of output are not truly necessary, but it is nice every once and a while...and by that I mean maybe 5 mins a we…

So how about it Mach 5? Why not take the current IXL motor structure from the 10 and 12 and use it to make an 8 inch version? I think it would be awesome and if priced as the IXL 10 and 12 they would be very competitive... I'd order a few, with the same motor as the 10 it would be one very very beefy sub :bigclap: It seems these days more and more are looking to drivers in a smaller size which can be seen in Soundsplinters sucess with their 8. Mach 5 should cptialise on this market Anyway... PLEASE

Should i use one amp two etc. The 3 subs are dvc 15" fosgate 2 ohm 250 rms P2d215 .After the box i will be making a panel on the door for one 8" sub and an 6-3/4 component set along with two component sets in the rear. well actually it's a good day but also sad. a few days ago i got a 1999 s10 xtreme standard cab with bagssss baby! that's the good news. the bad news is i have no way of fitting my 15" d2 in my truck. it's a standard cab with bench seats. in my blazer, i had that baby in a 4ft^3 box ported to 32hz and it was crazy nice. i don't really wanna make a blow through in this truck because it has only 35,000 miles and it's in mint condition. the frame wasn't c-notched for the bags or anything (sadly i don't lay frame...yet). so yeah. umm...is there anyone who has fit a 15" in a standard cab truck without creating a blow through and without having my steering wheel at my knees wit…
