i have an audiobahn 4002T amp and i am gonna be getting some money from my scholarships that i didnt use for tuition. i dont have a whole lot of money and i am runnin stock battery and alternator so i cant go too many watts. i may get a new amp someday, but if i do it wont be over 600 watts. anyways, i have 400 watts bridged at 4 ohms and i am trying to figure out what sub i want. i know i want 1 12" and a ported box tuned to 30-32 Hz. i want pretty decent SQ, i want it to hit low, hit hard, and get loud. so basically LSQ. i am between the RE SX and the Rl-p but i just cant decide. since the SX is only dual 4 ohm, i can wire it to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. i am a little worried …

ill do the best i can to explain. my buddy just got some memphis subs the mclass 12s he has about 400 watts going to each the day after he got them one started smoking and then quit it still works but makes a clicking noise i took it out and took a look at it but didnt see anything wrong does anyone know what this could be?

I am getting very mixed opinions about this. I have 2 12 inch ssd's going in a 04 escalade running off of a saz 1500d. What should I make a sealed or a ported enclosure. give me the reason why don't just pick one. What is the biggest difference between the two. It is my first real setup, so I don't know. The SSD's can be in either enclosure.

I was hoping someone could give me thoughts on going from a 15" Mag in a 3cuft sealed box to a 12" Arc Audio Flatline in a 2cuft portet box tuned to 32hz. I'm happy with the Mag's output and sq but I think I want a little more output now. Does the Flatline keep the same sq as the Mag does? How is the output of the Flatline compared to the Mag? Are the lows of the Flatline as good as the Mags? Thanks

hi, my freind that i wound up selling my xxx componot set to told me that they are making a mechincal type noise whenever they get past half volume. And he has them powering off of a sundown sax100.2 and set for 20volts at 2 ohms (200watts) now he left me them to mess around with them and i got them to not make the noise if i turn down the equalizer ( it's an alpine 9887) so was it just the speakers reaching their mechincal limit or should i tell him to start looking for new speakers. i already emailed re audio but have not gotten a response yet. thanks

Hi guys, i was wondering if you can give some suggestions for a sub that my friend could use with the info i got from him... - small maybe 10" or even 8" - musical sounding sub - can go loud abit i think? - good for sealed enclosures - good for 500W only or maybe less for efficiency - max of $300 if possible i think the reason for small is he plans to put in in the corner of the trunk. behind the tail lights. and if im not mistaken, he needs it for .7 or less cubes after displacement. he was thinking of putting flat subs/slim subs but i advised him to wait, and ill try to get more suggestions for i think slims subs output would not be enough for him, but if you can sugg…

I was curious of any of your experiences with 6.5" subs. I saw this thread on DIYMA as sometimes they get too technical for me. I was wanting to put two 6.5" subs in my truck, but I am curious how well they will balance with the rest of my system. I currently have 8" Rainbow X-plain midbass and Cal27 tweeter. I can fit 8,10,12,15,18...but if I can do more with less, I think that will be great.

I have a 12w3v2 with a blown coil. Is it worth reconing? or can I just do it for fun? Who and where or what can I use to recone it?

Well this weekend has been eventful. I was sure I wasn't going to have enough time to do all 3 and I was correct in my assumption. However, I took a giant stab at it and have took some pics along the way. I have been doing this a little at a time so if you have any advice then by all means. does anyone on this forum have any experience with orion hcca's? buying some very shortly and i want some testimony as to how they perform and if they experience any common problems. i watched their head to head comp on youtube but that doesnt tell me much. any feedback is greatly appreciated. they are for daily street beating and are gonna be powered by a zx2500.1 and in a 6 cub ft. box @ 35hz.

As title stated im looking into the mach5 IXL. Getting a sae1200 and i was looking into the ssa icon and the fi q or even th fi bl, doing a single 12 . Then i started looking at the mach 5. good price and nice specs. How do they compare to the others i listed? and does anyone have imput or imfo on these subs?

I built a sealed box for my car already but i need to build a ported box for comps. Ive got 2 15'' d2s with 1200 watts rms My cars resonant frequency is about 35 from what ive read. Should i tune it to 35? or to what the subs are reccommended to? or ive heard to tune about 10-12 hz above my cars resonant freq.?

Ok well one of the two 8's I have currently is having some mechanical issues so I have opted to switch brands all together to Sundown to match my amps i currently have. Right now it has two Atomic AP8's in it and the volume I'm working with is 1.8ish i think that was before displacement give or take a little. I can knock out the ports out and make them longer if need bit but it seems to be that the overall tuning should be roughly 35 hz from what i have been reading. I would run this through my bass box pro app but i dont have it loaded on any computers at the moment could someone give me an idea of what the length of the ports im working with should be? ok my friend will build me a box in his wood shop but i need to get him plans. Im looking at both of these setups to be ran as a daily driver setup in my second car .... both can be had for about the same price and require the same power ... what do u guys think? both have good reveiws, work well in all types of setups ... im looking to put either one in a 4.5 cu ft box .. tuned to 32hz ... ish depending on what i wanna do with the application .. just looking for some input .. thanks guys
