Hello Everyone I have a 2.2 cu ft sealed enclosure (after displacement) and I was wondering if the new Mag would sound good in it. I have a PRSX720 amp that gives out 800 watts RMS @ 4 ohms thanks

I was listening to stereo pretty loud last night and every thing was fine. i went to leave today and i notice my rear side speakers were not working right. They are JBl 2 way 6x9 GTO 's. they came with the truck from the previous owner. They are rated at 150 watts. i had a 2 channel MTX 280 watt amp hooked up to them running at about half turned up. Now only the tweeter or the little spekear in the center of it is working. All i here is the highs and no mids. I checked all the connections and even hooked it back up to the head unit and still the same result. The fronts are just off the head unit and they are fine. I don't know what i did?? They sounded great. For not buyi…

OK, I just got rid of my last setup and looking to start new. I have $1000.00 to work with for subs and amp(s). I already have an upgraded electrical system (Stock Battery, Kinetik HC 2000, 230 amp HO alt. and the Big 3 done with 0 gauge). Now, am looking at 4 different subs and still up in the air on amps. I have 8 cb.ft to work b4 any displacement. So am thinking of running two 12" ported or 2 15" ported that doesn't need a lot of space to operate. For subs, am wanting a LOW END MONSTER with ok high end. Am currently looking at the DC lvl 4 or XL (Depending on price and amp), IA Death Row, FI BL, or the AQ HDC3 subs, but am still open to suggestions. As for amps, i w…

So in the next month i will be starting a new box build. I am kind of good at this stuff but always look for others advice. So the new build will be for 2 Fi sp4 18" fully loaded subs. 1 Crescendo Audio bc5500d and 3 xs power xp3000 batts. Still have to find some one that makes an upgraded alt for my car(2004 Hyundai Elantra gt HB) that does not cost an arm and a leg. I will be removing the back seat building a large box and then walling around it the box size is going to be 48"w x 36"h x 30"d. Will be 1.5in thick with at 2.5in front plate. From what i came up with(been a while since i made a box) was a box that will have 15.98 cuft after porting. The port is 7in tall and…

Hey guys, I'm new to these forums. Hopefully you are all enjoying your holidays. =) Anyways, I won't lie. I know little-to-nothing about car audio. I've been starting to pick some stuff up over the course of this past week, when I decided that I would like to start looking into subs/amps for my car. I own a 1998 Chevy Cavalier, and I currently have; Front Speakers - 4x6" JBL's (GTO6427) Click Rear Speakers - Energy 6x9" 3-Way's (ENC693X) Click Deck - Pioneer MP3 Deck w/ USB (DEH-P5000UB) Click I can't complain all that much about how things sound in my car, I really don't mind them. I'd just like to put some more power (specifically bass) into it now. When I first…

  12. Quick little background..... I'm 19 and own a '05 4runner. I started with (3) 10" mtx's and thought that was the sh*t! Soon I learned about JL,RE,RF etc.. Soon after learning about these brands and their reputation I ordered a 13w7, but soon after purchasing that sub I was introduced to FI Audio. After watching many video's of FI making many customers satisfied I decied to ditch my W7 and order a pair of 15" BTL's. I know some what about car audio, but nearly nothing compared to some people I've seen on these fourms. Soon I will be ordering a pair of 15" BTL's, but I'm not totally sure what options I should pick for the subwoofer? I would be using the subs as a daily…

Okay so today I showed up to my house with a free blown sub at my door and was wondering if there is a recone kit available for it. It is a Audiobahn 12" Eternal series (AWES12p) and I dont think audiobahn makes them anymore because they came out with a new immortal series. I don't know how to tell if the motor is still good but I assume it is due to the coil being the only thing that looked bad. So yeah, I would be needing the whole recone (coil, dustcap, cone/foam surround, spider, and so forth). Im almost possitive the coil is 2.5 inches in diameter (measured with measuring tape). Let me know if I let out any information. Your help is much appreciated, thanks!

Has anyone on here tried the Boston G5 12 inch sub? I got one the other day (cheap)brand new and haven't hooked it up to anything yet-just wanted peoples opinion's. I heard a pair on a JL 1000/1 at a local stereo shop-and I thought they sounded great (even on there display wall). I have a 1000/1 sitting around and was thinking about trying that combo in my Mariner? I have a baby on the way and probably will need to take my 15's out from time to time-so the box will be lighter to take in and out. Just wondered if anybody had tried them before-Thanks

  16. As the topic says iv decided to build a ported box for my mag 15". The output on the sealed just was lacking / geting traped in the trunk. Iv seen people useing 3.5 tuned to 27 4 tuned to 34 etc and loving it. What exactly is the advantages to straying from the recomend build? And wwhat size would you recomend? If size is not an issue.

I just bought some Kicker 1/0 gauge power wire kit and I'm having a difficult time figuring out how exactly I'm supposed to get the thick 1/0 wire into the ANL Fuse holder(which came included with the Kicker amp kit by the way). Here are some pictures to show you exactly what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance. I'll check back real soon as I would like to continue the install tomorrow if time permits. Ps. How do I post up an image. It will only let me link an url.

Anyone know when we might see a revamp of the punch line? They been on the same run for years now . Would love to see them go back to the 90's style with the spruce paper cones loved that sound and look..would be amazing to see a O.G company get back to roots of the hobby. I'm honestly sick of all these new kids with the same ol cookie cutter everything.

okay ive got a mag 15 in a 2.2 cuft box sealed. id prefer bigger but its what i already had. the box is almost square but the front and back are definetly parallel. now ive got a JL 1000/1 on it... and its not very loud. i dont blame it at all on the sub. i know its capable of pain.... but i dont see how it could be the amplifiers fault. i tuned it to 64V with a true rms dmm. at 4 ohms thats appx 1030w rms or something. plenty of power for a mag to scream. when i get my ported box built and if i still think its not loud enough im going to try to hook up my friends eDnine.1 to it and see if thats a problem. but for ported boxes parallel baffle and back is perfectly fine ri…

Ok guys. Subs are in the mail. Mono and 4 Channel amp will come with my next two checks. (RE SEx 12, AQ1200D, AQ4x90) As for the money I have now, I need 2 pairs of speakers. I have an Explorer, so 6x9's are out. I'm leaning towards 6.5 coaxials for the front, and either a cheaper pair of 6.5's or 6x8's for a rear fill. There is a hole already made for a tweeter in the door (as the car has a system in it already), so components would be a great choice, EXCEPT....I'm working in a semi-limited budget (not willing to spend more than 160 on both pairs). With all that said, I have two choices picked out. Rockford Fosgate T1652 for front, and P1653 for rear. Still a skeptic tho…

I am about to order a box for my dodge ram quad cab truck. There is a company that sells multiple different boxes for this. I was going to order a box for a single sub sealed. Becase it has 1.15 cubes I was going to order it for a single 12 inch sub. I liked this set up becasue it only takes up part of my underseat storage. They do also make some other enclosures for sealed setups. One is 2 seperate compartments sealed for 2 subs of either 8, 10 or 12 inch and have .6 cubes per sub compartment. One other box is another dual sub set up sealed with 1.45 cubes joined and can be ordered for 8, 10 or 12" subs. The third dual box is the same as the second joined setup but with …
