Subwoofers / Speakers

I was looking at this set of Hybrids, I had already set my budget at $500 before looking around a lot and I have heard good things about Hybrid Audio so how do you guys think they would do running active with a Sundown 100.4? Also I'm not so sure that the 6.5's will fit without mods to the door so if they don't then how will the 5.25's compare to them?

I'm trying to learn more about setting up my mids/highs & I've been reading a lot of threads about "going active." I think I've got the gist of what it is and how to do it (kind of) but I'm trying to figure out what the benefit is. Is going active and using the HPF & LPF on the amp better than just using the passive x-over that comes with ur components? The only thing I can think of is maybe it's cheaper to buy a midrange and a set of tweets than buying a nice component set....Somebody wanna help me understand this a lil' better?

im thinkin about getting 2 of these for my girl's ride. it will be powered with a audiobahn hct-1500 @ 2 ohms. if anybody has ran these b4 let me know which type of box it likes best. my girlfriend listens to alot of r&b and pop music..thanks

Hey guys! got a bit of a scenario I'm hoping you can help me with. In about august every year we have a local competition that we compete in and every year we've won our class. Typically every year i buy a new sub and try to beat our old score and so on and so on. Last year I used an 18" BL with D1 coils. I ran it off my JBL BP amp and things weren't to bad. Recently though i've acquired a Sundown and am very happy to be using it to its full potential. Problem #1, the BP puts out max power @ 2 ohms and the sundown puts it out @ 1 ohms and my BL is either a .5 ohm or 2 ohm subwoofer. (its not universal) This got me thinking though and this is where I am hoping to get some…

I listen to quite a bit of metal and need some real nice mid bass drivers...... no budget... 08 explorer 5x7 w/about 3.5 - 4in depth... ..i can do 8in drivers .... any help would be appreciated...

Hey i am new. I was wondering if the sub woofer brands on this site are more reliable then lets say kicker and audiobahn. I am an audiobahn guy and have my system deck out. I never knew about sites like this because they are not in retail stores around here. I was just hoping to get some insight on why these subs are so much cooler them mine and they aren't every where.

So I plan on taking advantage of the SAZ-1500D sale this month and I am going to need to decide which sub(s) to purchase as well. I'm looking for a little guidance in this respect. I own a trunk car so I'd like to keep the size of the box down if at all possible - I'm thinking under 3 cubes. So that probably leaves me with either one 12" ported, or 2 12" sealed. I guess I could do 1 15" sealed too. I listen to mostly rap, so SQ is of little concern, but I don't want it to sound like complete crap either, at least to me. Hey guys, so I'm thinking of making the switch to a no sub set-up for awhile at least because the room in the trunk would be nice and I am starting to go away from that whole rap/bass phase. Currently, I just have a layer or two of eDead in my doors that are pretty solid on the actual door metal, but I am sure I am lacking covering up the larger holes. My question is what can I do or what would be my best bet for setting up a good deadening scheme. I've heard to maybe get some quality deadener (second skin or raammat?) and maybe some ensolite, but if I could hear it some more in detail or some tips that'd be great. The specs and design for the DC Sound Lab LFB-2k are exactly the same as the Batcap 2000 and the price is too. So my questions is, are these the same? I've been looking at The Batcap 2000 for a while, so perhaps someone may persuade me towards a DC Sound Lab.

I'm in the process of working out a system for my TJ Jeep. I'd appreciate some advice on different ported-enclosure arrangements to suit it. Leaning towards down firing, but i am concerened about wind interference from port positioning, as if is a soft-top. Also, it will be to suit two Fi BTL 18's or 15's, undecided... Thanks!

I have a ssundown sae 1000d. I am looking for a good 15" sub that is more loud and boomy. I have about 6 cubic feet to work with. I dont have a budget but I dont want to go crazy on buying a sub. Id put it in a ported box. Im mainly looking for loud and boomy and not sq. I mainly listen to rap. Any help would be great thanks.

This is for a friend this time, not for me. Anyways, he just bought an autotek SM1-1500 (street machine), pushin 375 rms in 4 channels at 4ohms. Lookin for 6.5s in the front and 6x9s in the back, tryin to spend somehwere around the $200 range for each.

just ordered a kx550.3 and i need some suggestions on a sub. if the maw's were still in production , id snag one up , but i decided to downsize too late. so i need some suggestions for a 12" that will work well in both sealed and ported enclosures being fed 350-400wrms @ 2 ohm that will get decently loud and not sound like poop. budget is around $100 but ill spend a bit more if i have to get something quality. i was looking at the RE SR , but i really couldnt find enough reviews on them. thanks in advance.

I'm looking to upgrade the midbass performance in my truck, while still blending in with the rest of my equipment and sounding good. I know I will not be able to keep up with my substage ever, because I am a basshead, but thats OK with me. I was looking at a set of the Peerless SLS 8" drivers. They would be mounted in my doors, right next to my set of Pioneer PRS C720 component speakers. Door will be sealed and deadened. I have around 150-200 watts available per channel for just midbass. I'm running stereo with no rear fill. I don't have any external processors but I have a P800-PRS head deck with the rear channels unused. What would I all need, and need to do setup…

is there anything bad about using passive radiators? for the sound i am trying to get i think i either need to have a wall or open space for my subs (no trunk). i am not so much concerned with spl or sq i want my car to have a lot of impact and with the limited space that i have 4 15's wouldnt fit into my trunk with adequate airspace.
