Need to hit all of the Sundown owners up to what boxes you have used. Ihave 2 SA 12's that i will be running at a 2ohm load off a Kicker ZX1000.1. Ihave always had sealed boxes and thought that they were better for SQ and the lower bass notes. I am open to suggestions as i have NEVER used one of these subs before. If i should go ported what should it be tuned to and how many cubic ft for 2? If sealed should i use poly fill and if so how much and how many cubic ft for 2? Any reference material or you tube videos you can link me to would be great. thanks guys.

I have a sundown saz 1500d v3, and was hoping to run all sundown equipment soon, so the question is would a 1500d push two sa 15s nice or would they seem ' under powered'. Would most likely have the box be 3.5 cubes each @ 35 hz

Hi guys I have been looking at these little guys for awhile and have thought about running them in my 03 ford explorer behind the third row seats. At first I thought about running them off a sundown sax 1200d but now I have come across this website and discovered crescendo audio and seen the bc 2000d and love the way it looks and its a little cheaper. I was just wondering if these little beast would hold up or am I better off running the sax 1200d?

I have a 08 Tundra that I want to push two 10's in a ported enclosure the SD's would save me some space but my issue is I don't mind losing some leg room for the SA's but will my Arc Audio 2500 XXK at 1150 watts of clean power be enough to push SA's? or will It push the SD's more efficiantly. In other words what is better for this amp SD's or SA's this thing is new in the box I've had it lying around for a while it's a good amp and my budget can't afford a newer more powerful one

  9. Planning on running two SA-15s probably off something like this http://www.sonicelec...-BK1300.1D.html in the back of a 2000 ford focus wagon. Would subs like these require an alternator upgrade or would they run fine off stock, and also if SA reccomends a 3.0-4.0 ft^3 @ 35hz ported box for one sa-15; around what size do you think two of these would require? And would a box that big fit in the back of a ford focus? Any help and suggestions on things I havent asked here are also appreciated !

Will SA-8's perform well in a sealed box for midbass (80hz-250hz)? I honestly have no idea what makes for a good midbass driver vs subwoofer. any input would be appreciated

Hey all. not sure if my sub is bottoming out or i have the settings done incorrectly. its an sa-8 running at 2ohm 500watts. during some songs it sounds like the sub is banging into something but if i turn the volume down it stops. box is a .75 ^3 tuned to 34hz designed by ram designs. this is my first attempt at a stereo install in over 10 years so im sure its something ive done. gain is set to half on the dial and sensitivity is at 3/4. Amp is an alpine mrd500. Any thoughts? Thanks kevin i

  12. I currently have a 2005 single cab Dodge Ram 1500. I recently ordered a Sundown Audio SA-8 D4 v.1. I have a 1k Hifonics Mono Amp i was hoping to push this sub with. Im having issues getting a box design. I built my own and friends boxes but only merely guessing needed airspace and very unfamiliar with tuning. I under stand its got to do with the driver, box volume and port length and size but beyond that im a noob. From reading around I've seen that these subs need about .5-.75 cubs of box at about 30 to 40hz? My first box attempt was around .6cubs but the port was about 1"x8" and only 27" long which im almost positive is incorrect because the sub will not even do any not…

I have a buddy that I built a box for and installed two SA-8's. He bought both of them used, one from Darren Francis, the other from a local guy. Anyway, with the subs wired in series/paralell for a 4 ohm load, one of the subs gets extremely hot after only about 3-5 minutes of play. If the sub hasn't been played and is cool, there is no scratching when pushed in, but when it's been played and gets hot, it has a little scratching noise when pushed in. Anyone know why this would be happening to only 1 sub? The other sub stays completely cool and plays fine. It is possible that one of the coils could be blown on the bad sub? I did a quick test with a DMM on the subs wired to…

I am planning on running 2 SA-8s in my mustang install (not sure if theyll be v1 or v2 yet) and I have a few enclosure questions and need a little help. Im wanting to run them in slot ported enclosures BUT they will not fire into the trunk the will fire into a space that is sealed off from the trunk but ported through the rear deck. My questions are; 1) Whats the smallest box youd reccomend for them to perform great in a daily app and still do good in a burp situation. 2) Anybody have a box design program that will map out the whole design (dimensions and all) ? They would like to use to give me a box idea.

Ok well one of the two 8's I have currently is having some mechanical issues so I have opted to switch brands all together to Sundown to match my amps i currently have. Right now it has two Atomic AP8's in it and the volume I'm working with is 1.8ish i think that was before displacement give or take a little. I can knock out the ports out and make them longer if need bit but it seems to be that the overall tuning should be roughly 35 hz from what i have been reading. I would run this through my bass box pro app but i dont have it loaded on any computers at the moment could someone give me an idea of what the length of the ports im working with should be? FYI the curre…

2013 dodge charger, 180amp alternator. setup 1: 2 ported (32hz) SA12s on 1400rms amp @1ohm (700rms each) setup2: 3 sealed SA12s on 2400rms amp @1.3 ohm (615 rms each) Will the stock battery and amp be able to handle the 2nd setup? which of these is better for SPL and which for SQ? Any info will help, thanks. I am leaning towards 1st setup, just wanted to know if it was worth the 2nd. Im looking at a Hifonics GLX1400.1D

I was set on buying some SA12s and a sundown 1200d, until I saw Lethal injections on sale here for 151 each. Which ones are better, SA12 or LI12??? I like low end bass on rap songs. I built a box for the SA12s, would the LI12s fit in 3.2ft at 30hz? I'm terrible with decision making when it comes to buying something!

I've made a few threads and I can't get a straight answer. WHICH ONE SA 12s 350 shipped VVS 12s 320 shipped LI 12s 370 shipped What im hearing is they're all equal. Im thinking the vvx since they're the cheapest. The amp will be a sundwowm 1200d. Im looking for heavy lows that shake the whole car. Sq doesn't really matter to me. More of an spl sound. Straight answers please! Thank you!

I have a skar 1500.1 and im going to buy two 12s, I just cant make up my mind. Everything ive read says the sa's works wonderful and they would match with the amp I have. The xfls take a lot of power but some people have ran them with lower power and have had success. I m just stuck. these will be the last subs I can get for quite a while so I want to make the right choice and unless my amp takes a dump I wont be replacing that either. In the search's ive done most people say xfl over sa's but most people also feed them more power. Advice appreciated.

So I went to go edit it and then I got to thinking, which section should I put this in to get the most attention? So Mod's if you feel necessary, please delete the one you think would attract the least amount of attention, but Id like to have the Poll. Hey guys, I am in the talks with Steve, the owner of Subthump.com. They make some of the best sealed prefabbed boxes I have ever dealt with. They are simply amazing, the prices are budget friendly. Their main focus are on sealed boxes, because they aim at the people who are on a budget and they can mass produce. So I have…
