Subwoofers / Speakers

I'm building a 99 2dr Tahoe with 4 DC level 6 18's with 20k watts going to them, and I need some suggestions on the mids and highs. I have an Eclipse 7200 mkII head unit and an Audision bit one laying around that I will be using. I lalso have a DD C2 and an Alpine pdx 150.4 that are not being used that i can use or I might just buy new amps. I need a front stage that will keep up with the bass and not sound horrible. Thanks

Looks like I desoldered a tinsel lead from my BTL...on accident. It looks like it's too short...I resoldered it already but I can't turn it up loud or I get a scraping from (guessing) the lead being too short causing the cone/coil to rock. Can I just desolder the lead from the landing, resolder a piece of 12ga stranded wire to the landing and crimp the lead to that? Or should I order 5 meters of tinsel from an online vendor and try to desolder the lead from a difficult spot near the cone and try to do it "right"? Thoughts? Thanks.

with shipping the hdc3 is 339 and the bl with the ups i need will also be 339. i am getting the hdc3 with copper coil... if thats what i get. i have an AQ2200 amp so i am wanting a pair of 18s.... i have been told great things about both subs. i had a BL a month ago and it was great. but i want to be smart about this and get what is best for what i am going to be doing to my car. the hdc has a xmas of 17-19 mm were the bl has like 21 i think. the bl also has a higher sensitity of 92.6 and the hdc3 has a sensitivity of like 89.something but just because it has a higher xmas and sensitivity does it mean it will be louder? i am going to buy a pair of 18s but which one of the…

Any one had experience with any of them I've heard a ton of good things about the ab xfl not sure what route I'm going to go will be in a sealed clamshell I want to be able to slam lows but still put up a decent number

Alright guys so iv got ideas floating around in my head that i cant just ignore. My first idea was selling my 12" bl and getting a 15" zcon for my civic, but then iv been thinking and im curious as to how cool it would be to have 3 10" smaller powered subs facing up and porting back in the trunk. Maybe like 3 12" dcons or fi x's. Would 3 10's off around 1200 watts be louder then my 1 12 off the same power? its almost triple the cone area and would be so cool to pop the trunk to 3 dcons or something simular haha . Or would i just be better off going with 1 15" zcon on about 2200 wats, if i did that then i would need a bigger alt bigger wire and so forth. How much louder if…

I know you guys will recommend going full size... I have an older Toyota Landcruiser FJ60 and want some good bass without sacrificing storage/dog toting ability. I am looking at one or two enclosures in the rear quarter panels (out of sight and paw proof). I was thinking 10" or 12" subs (likely two - one ea side). Powered by a single Alpine PDX-1.600 The JL 13.5" won't fit. Pioneer 1201's should, otherwise not sure what you guys would recommend getting. total depth (not counting what hte enclosure will use up is about 5.5". Thanks for helping me find something!

I'm trying to make a descision between these 2 subs. I plan on running only 1, off of 1500 watts rms. I can make any electrical upgrades that are necessary. I drive a Dodge Ram 1500 Quad-Cab, so space is somewhat of an issue. I currently have a box with 2 12's taking up 2 of my back seats, and would like to try and free up some more space. I have heard that the Sundowns do well in smaller enclosures. My main goal is to hit lows, get loud, and sound smooth. I listen to rap/hip hop and Chopped and Screwed music. Any personal experience with either of these subs is appreciated.

Hello all. Need some assistance. I have a 2011 Lexus GX 460 with Mark Levinson sound system. The system sounds great except for the sub.I have pulled off the back panel and reveled that the factory was a 10" sub. I currently own a Alpine PDX 600.1 I will put that behind the panel and will replace the sub run a LOC. I checked the factory sub and it was 8 ohm surprisingly but know if I replace and wire up a replacement sub it will not give me what I am looking for. I previously had my PDX 600.1 running a JL Audio 10-3v3 it does not fit its around 6" mount depth. That sub in a small sealed box rocked and am looking for something similar in the factory location. I have the discontinued infinity reference three way six by nines. There's a +3db switch on the tweeter housing, are they normally attenuated, or how does that work? i was thinking about turning the switch on, and i wasn't sure if it may cause any damage? I have them powered by a 2010 Rockford P400-4. Their nominal impedance is 2.67 ohms so i would think their getting decent power.

I am looking to replace my 6.5" components that are in my front door. I currently have Boston acoustic pro60se and have blown my mid bass woofers due to way to much power (who would have guessed haha). I have the new T1000-4 amplifier and the birth sheet says 394 rms x 4 at all impedance. I'm looking for a set of components that can handle all of the power and sound really good doing it. Any one tried the eminence mids? Seems very similar to the sundown offerings and the price seems great. Wonder how they will go with some morel supremo tweets. I have used their pa speakers with great results but idk about car speakers. Any other suggestions welcome. Application loud daily but sq is important. Thx

Hey guys. I noticed the prices dropped a little bit on the new TC Sounds drivers. The LMS-R 12 is now $269. Anyone here have any experience with the newer TC drivers? Hey guys. I'm trying to piece together a 3-way active front stage in a friend's car and I need some help in selecting speakers for this application. The car is an '06 VW Passat if that is of help more than pictures of the A-pillars. Planned locations are A-pillars for midranges and tweeters and doors for midbass. Processing is going to be done by a car pc, all software, no limitations there. Power is going to be plenty, 100w@4 ohms for each midrange and each tweeter and 200w@8ohms for midbass.
