Once again this might be a dumb question ... I think I am mostly just confirming what I already know: I am piecing together components for a new system in my VW CC. I plan on getting the Image Dynamic CTX65CS comps rated at 100w RMS - 200w MAX. I was also planning on the new Kenwood 5 channel amp which put out 80w RMS - 150w MAX. Perfect for the ID comps I thought. I recently did learn about the ZED Leviathan 6 channel amp. This amp looks awesome! Although I am on a budget, it looks very worthwhile to spend a bit extra and get this amp over the Kenwood. The Zed amp is rated at 150w RMS. Don't know what the MAX power is on the ZED. Im going to get a SX, but my dilemma is what to get. I got a little over 2cubes that im wiling to give up on a daily basis. What im looking at is either a ported 12 or a sealed 15. I know most will say the 12 just due to basic output levels, but ive always had a hard time putting a single 12 in anyone of my vechicles, ive always gone with a 15. The only thing that is the saving grace for the 15 is that I DO have this really nice box sitting around at home that I used to have my 15 HC in. So I was looking at my new Crescendo Audio CCX65's and I noticed 2 possible issues I'd like feedback on. Issue 1. One of the crossovers is loose in its case and rattles around and can be moved around inside the case by pushing or pulling on the block. The other one is rock solid. Will this cause any issues other then an annoying rattle? If not I will just open the case and adhere it down like the solid one. Issue 2. One of the mids is not centered. I am not sure if this will rub or not during use since its not like these things have subwoofer excursion levels. I pushed the cone up and down a bit and didn't see or hear it rub. i have an audiobahn 4002T amp and i am gonna be getting some money from my scholarships that i didnt use for tuition. i dont have a whole lot of money and i am runnin stock battery and alternator so i cant go too many watts. i may get a new amp someday, but if i do it wont be over 600 watts. anyways, i have 400 watts bridged at 4 ohms and i am trying to figure out what sub i want. i know i want 1 12" and a ported box tuned to 30-32 Hz. i want pretty decent SQ, i want it to hit low, hit hard, and get loud. so basically LSQ. i am between the RE SX and the Rl-p but i just cant decide. since the SX is only dual 4 ohm, i can wire it to 2 ohms or 8 ohms. i am a little worried …

I always see the ports extending INTO the box...what if the port was on the OUTSIDE of the box? Would this make any difference?

Hey guys, I am looking for a design for a 12 inch subwoofer box. The thing is that it has to be with kerfed port and flushed driver, 1.75 cub feet for a SA-12 tuned to 35hz. The closed thing I was able to find were these two but no kerfing and the second one is a bit bigger than needed(double baffle will be just redone as flush mount). Does anyone have any already made ones or can help with redoing these? If it was not a kerfed box I would just put another sheet on top for flush mount but it has to be on the inside and that will mess up the net volume. I am just new to all this... Hello i am in the market for front stage, ive been drooling over CDT for years and finally wanna make the leap and buy some, please give your opinions, ill be using (2) sa-8's.....would you rcommend a 3 way CDT set consisting of a 6.5" / 4" / 1" on a sundown 125.2, or would you recommend i do a 2 way set which would be a 4" / 1", and a separate strong CDT 6.5" midbass, >>>point being do you think ill realy need a strong 6.5" midbass with only 8" subwoofers, or a 3 way comp set with slightly less power would be sufficient?

I spent some time on the net looking a different box design programs ,as I'm getting to build my first box ,and now more confused than ever. esp. with WinISD which many seem to use. There always seems to be a box or component of the software I don't know how to complete and so never seem to realize any ultimate box design. I'm leaning to making a sealed box ultimately, but am somewhat interested in a slot ported box if I can get the dimensions right that will fit in one side of the trunk of my car "95 Impala SS" and a programme that will let me configure those measurements. I did find a website with some ported box options, but something just didn't strike a cord right…

It's looking like I may be picking up an Eclipse SW9182Pro...18"...need to decide on an enclosure for it. I'm limited to 1.4kW, so I'm thinking of using a larger box to lower the Qtc and increase efficiency - space is not a concern. Porting it is another idea, but it would have to be to an extremely low frequency - I'd like to use this enclosure over when I move it inside, I'm buying this with the intention of using it at home someday. I'm thinking even 27Hz would be too high of a tuning frequency for music/HT. Any ideas?

Ok I bought an rd sonance last year for my girls car. I didn't install it for 3 4 weeks after recieving it. After maybe a week of playtime it started cutting out and if I pushed on the cone it'd start back up so I figured it was a bad tinsel lead. Then one side of the coil died off completely so I ran it on one coil for awhile and it was fine until we decided to introduce it to a wall socket lol. Now I have a rd super paper weight lol.. Is it worth a recone or should I just sell the motor n basket if possible?

my buddy is getting rid of his 4 12" L7's and wan't to get 3 15"L7's.. but the amp he has is 1ohm stable and he wont get full output with that amp cause 3 dvc 4ohm subs wired in series can only go down to 2.6 ohm load!! so which amp would you guys reccommend at 2 ohms? the amp he has now is the hifonics brutus 2600 or 2800 not 100%sure! not sure on his budget but i believe he doesn't care!

well i have built some new 15's too go in the rav4, and once i get my alt, i will be throwing the second saz2000d on them. right now i have one of my ultras in there and she does sound freakin good i need too break out the tl before i pull the ultra out though. some build pics and i have some vids that will be ready tomorrow of some of the build, with short explanations of one of my methods. the cones are salvaged from some damaged sdx 15's i have don't mind the pieces of foil that gets removed before the final glue in and in this pic is a stiff paper dust cap i glued first, as the final dustcaps i used were so big around, and the profile is so shallow that they ar…

Hi, I would like to know which is the best recommended Sound Quality sub available to buy in the SSA store, prefered size 12", i would love 15" but only have a maximum of a 4cu feet for the enclosure, Thanks.

Just curious at what your set up is (box type, size, brand, and amps, etc). and most importantly, how does it sound?

I currently have one x12 running on 400rms in a ported box tuned around 33 or so. I amhoping to purchase a hifonics brutus brz.1800 and i would like to increase my cone area aswell. I just dont know whether a ssd15 probably stock no upgrades.. Or 2 x10s when they come out... I would port it either way. And im hoping id have room... I would make my own box and id just make it fit... So what do you think? 10's or one 15? Btw imnot 100% set on fi... Just i do have experience and i was very happy. But if anyone has any other ideas pleas let me kknow! Sorry for bad spelling... Im on my ipod.

I'm trying to find out about something about subs. If I have a dual 1 ohm subs can I change them over too dual 2 ohm. I have 2 12" dual 1 ssa zcons. I'm looking for another one or two more used and if I find one that's dual 2 I would like too change them to dual 1s. If anyone's trying to sell there 12 ssa zcons hit me up

i was just wondering if anyone got there sub they ordered on black friday yet. i got an email that it was awaiting shipment but didnt receive any tracking orders. im fine with waiting just curious thats all. ordered 15" XCON if it makes any difference.
