Subwoofers / Speakers

Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

  1. Looking for decent/good SQ and impressive loudness/output. Planning to install 2 12's of one of these types of woofers. Often listen to rap/hip hop, dubstep, and metal. I will be pushing both subs with a Hifonics Zues 3200.1D I have 5 cu ft to work with for both subs, 2.5 for each. That being the max enclosure, it may vary with each sub and tuning.. Anyway can anyone help me with the best choice in woofer?

Am trying to find a good set of coaxial speaker for my truck. I replaced my factory speakers with ome kicker DS6.5s and they sounded better than the factory but am looking for a lil more sound. Am looking to spend around $80-100 a pair. I just want to replace not to install pods, etc. I will be running them off of my pioneer head unit (50 watts per channel). I would like a lil bass from my door speakers because it is lacking big time currently. Any suggestions on a nice pair? Thanks

I currently have a Chevy Cobalt LS Coupe and am looking for a new set of component speakers to place in my doors that are $250 or less. I am going to place the tweeter very close to the speaker about 4-6 inches away and the woofer will be in the stock location. I am going to deaden the doors, at a minimum around the speakers, and I want an equal listening experience for passenger and driver so the tweets will be aimed at the center console at listening level. So in terms of off/on axis performance, I am pretty sure this is considered off axis. The woofer size for my doors is 6.5" and the tweeter size just needs to be less than 2 inches as a custom mount is going to b…

I mean I been looking for a while for sub that can take a lot of power and sound good and good for daily, so I been searching on different forms looking for options and almost 80% of the time the sp4 is getting recommended. It have to more subs out there that is equal or better THE the sp4 for output and sq

  11. As the title states... Im looking for the recommended box sizes for the subs (both sealed and ported). The place where they should be listed on Sundown's website are all blank. Tried searching as well... but no luck. I at least found the displacement on the 10" is .25 Thanks in advance for your help fellaz!

Due to certain events in my life the build with the Chrysler 300 is getting put off, but I still want to have a little more bass in the bronco in the mean time. The only thing I have left to buy for the build in the 300 is two more pm1s, 1 more crescendo 3500, and the wardens. I had plans to sell the Sp4 18 I currently have, and buy one of the Warden 21s. So I bought one of the warden 21 yesterday, but I am having second thoughts considering the warden is more geared towards higher frequencies that what I am used to. Also due to the fact there are no specs posted, and no one really knows anything too helpful about the new wardens. I haven't sold the SP4 yet because there…

I found a pair of the red stamped steel basket MTX road thunder twelves next to a dumpster outside my apartment the other day; while not being as loud, they sound considerably nicer than my lanzars; they seem to be an ancient model, but I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of finding a few more for a low power install for my coworker? http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=293-352

Looking into a system for my 2012 Extended Cab Silverado. Wanting the box under the seat. Will not be able to fit anything more than a pair of 10's, but the question i keep pondering is if 2 8's with more breathing room will be more in-line with what im wanting than 10's. Looking for a good street beating system, if an SPL contest comes around my area, ill go compete for fun, but quality sound is a must at lower levels, but I want to be able to feel/hear it when I wanna roll the windows down and cruise. The little i have been researching, the Sundown Audio E8's , Incriminator Audio I8's, Alpine Type R's, and IDQ's seem to always have good reveiws. Im a fan of being differ…

  15. My choices are a Fi ufo BTL 18D2 for 250 shipped, or a dc level 6 18 with enclosure, for 800. Is the dc a good value? I simply want loud as fuck. Which would you choose, and why? I don't know which is better for what i'm looking for; obscene low end. I am focusing on these two, because they are both purchases from friends, trying to help them out, as well as help my sound situation

Alright, I've got the itch, I can't live with crappy sound in the Miata. I'm not going to do anything about road noise but I'm going to add some deadening to the doors. The plan is to put a 7" tablet, a miniDSP and a PPI 900.4, and do a simple 2-way install, without a sub. Midbasses are going to be a set of Adire Extremis 6.8. I'm already using a set in the Jeep, they dig down deep enough for what kind of listening I want in the Miata. Plus it's a pity to let my extra pair collect dust. Tweeters vs Full-ranges...the car has narrow A-pillars, speakers should pair up with the Extremis (I've seen them used up to 1.6-2k in home audio) and shouldn't be over $150. Wha…

  19. In the interest in trying to do as Sean (///M5) had told me I needed to do in my ON/OFF Axis thread I've been playing around with everything. I've been going through crossover and EQ settings on the components in the van, I've spent time playing with the components in the Jimmy (I can't drive it, may as well work on the audio, right?), and I've also been slowly buying up some other stuff to play with. I bought the Dayton RS180-4 mids from Ricksi, I bought a pair of Aura NS3 3", a pair of Fountek FE85 3", and a pair of FaitalPRO 3FE25 3" full rangers all for the sake of trying to train my ear and learn what problems and anomalies can and are occurring in the hunt to get …

I'm planning on upgrading my system within the next month or so, currently I have a Kicker L5 15" running on 1k watts rms in a 4 ft^3 tuned around 40 hz. It's gets low, but doesn't get low enough... I'm leaning towards the Sundown X-18, or maybe a Sundown SA-15. I've heard the X series can take a hell of a lot more power than what they are rated for (1250W) I believe. Which is what i'm leary about, would I be better off getting a X-18 wired down to 1 ohm at 1400RMS, or go with a SA-15 wired at 2ohm at 1k rms? How much can these subs truly take?

  23. I'm putting together a budget system in a Ford F-150 I have a custom box with .69 cu feet sealed available for 2 10" subs. There is a lot of options I've been narrowing it down so far I'm leaning towards the Sundown Audio SD 10 Dual 4. I am going to be running a Class AB Mono channel amp rated at 1400 Watts RMS into 1 ohm load. There restrictions 6 Inch mounting depth 300 dollar budget looking for Dual 4 ohm subs or single 2 ohm subs (Want as much bass as possible from a 2 10" subwoofer sealed enclosure) Thanks for any help with picking the right pair of tens!
