alright, this isnt really about the subs in general, but I am not starting a build log right now so figured this is where it should go. I recently picked up a trio of ppi pcx102 dual 2 10" flat cones. I am going to wire them to a 1.33 ohm load, got a few ideas on amps but am wondering about how much power I could give to them. they are rated at 250 rms but was wondering if they could possibly handle a little more as long as its clean? I have more than this but am willing to devote about 5.5 cubes before port and sub to this build. i am trying to decide between the dc lv4-12 or the new IA death row 12 i am thinking about using a hellboy box or have one custom buil by brian any info would be helpful

Just curious, seems like most of you guys own mag series subs. are there many others of you out there that own the BM series? i was wondering what kind of SPL others get and in what kind of enclosure for one 12, two? i have one twelve in a slotted box with 2 sq ft. but i never clocked it yet. (hardly any competitions in hawaii)

looking at revamping my current build in the next few months. im gonna wall off the truck and have about 8-10 cu ft to play with for volume after the port. ive been looking at doing several different driver combos such as 8 10s or 2 18s but open to any other combos people have in mind. gonna keep running the 3500d v2 i have now. i wanna stay around the $1k or subs, and i want to tune around 33hz. going to be a daily driver with some competition use. ive been looking at IA DPs, NSv2s, Zv4s, PSI platform 3s, fully loaded FI BLs,and AA mayhems for 2 18 combinations. i dont think i really have enough space for xcons/zcons. havent seen much in the 10s area i wanna run yet.

I'm highly considering purchasing these for my suv but I haven't been able to really find a good review anywhere online. I was wondering if any of you guys have installed them or know a link to a good review. Thanks!

I know most of you guys probably don't use Kicker, but I found an awesome deal from an awesome local seller for a pair of the Kicker RS 6.5 inch components and a Kicker ZX350.2 amp. No stores sell the higher models of Kicker gear so I was wondering how you think these components would be?

Ok now on topic -- When I first got my system running I noticed there was a smell to it. Not a bad smell but just something strange; best I can describe it is the smell of a fresh built, just turned on computer. The reason why I relate it to this is because I just re-built my computer today and notiecd this is how it smells. I have never smelled burning nor have I ever heard the woofer "bottom out". Just wondering how much power handling will decrease in an IB setup with the MJ-18M. I know power handling is probably not that important, but i just want to use it as a reference. Would i be safe in assuming that it will be halved from the normally rated power handling?

So I'm looking to go bigger (who isn't? ) and I was checking out obsidians. They look pretty nice, I'm pretty sure that the product is going to be great unlike some brands that are just starting out since obsidian was established by some reputable people. I've been wanting to do a big build for a while now and I've been hopping between brands, doing price checks and just seeing what I like most. I currently have a 1974 dodge charger. it only has one speaker in the front. And some crapily installed rear 6x9's I'll be fixing later. But for now. I'm doing an install of a center console I've built with an aftermarket head unit. Not wanting to cut anything up. I'm going to stick with the one front speaker for right now. Then build something to house 2 smaller speakers displaying the sound out the hole for the one that was there before. But for now. I"m sticking with the one. I purchased a pair back in '08 and used them for about 6 months or so and then took the box out of under my seat to make room for a hunting trip and never put it back. Going to sell them but can not remember nor find the specs on them. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

i am gonna build a box sealed and i have just purchased a used 15" mag off a guy for a good price. i want the volume to be 2.5 cubes and have figured out the size i want to accomidate it in my chrysler 300 trunk. the measuremants will be L 24" H 18" and W 10" which comes to exactly 2.5 cubes and i want to know is the width of 10" enough since it requires a mounting depth of 8 1/8"?

I recently got 2 sundown audio sa-15, i put them in a 7cuft box tuned to 35 hz. I have the big 3 down and a yellow top optima under the hood. I plan on having the amp professionally tuned to their won't be any clipping. So here's my question.... If i buy a hifonics brutus 2400.1 can the subs handle it? i've heard people can put more on them so anybody that has these want to give me some input?? thanks!

What does port noise sound like?

I need a box for a Fi BL 12 sub woofer I would rather buy one unless it exceeds around $150. I would like it to be ported but I'm not sure if it will fit in my truck. I have a 2000 ford ranger XLT and I want to keep one back seat so it can't be to big. Any suggestions on pre-made boxes or if it's truly worth it, where can I learn how to build a perftect box for the BL 12.

I havent made a ported box yet, but im ready to try. But my question is, size and tuning for this sub. I looked all over for manufacture recomendation for atleast size recs for a ported enclosure but could not find anything. I was thinking maybe a tuning to 32hz or so, but not really sure. Any ideas? hello everyone i just got a quick question. i need some advice, I have a 2006 cadillac escalade with 26"s on it and i got 1 12inch jl audio w7 with a 2000 watt amp. it pounds really hard, its hits 135 on the decimal reading. i want to know what kind of door speakers to get so that I have amazing hi's in my doors. i want to be super loud and screaming over my base . what should i get? give me some insight. i got money so the cost dnt matter. hit me up

So im putting the ssd15 in a 3.5-4cuft box. Tuned to around 32... do i really need 4-4" round pvc ports? Could 3 6" ports work? Or is my math way off?
