Subwoofers / Speakers

My next setup is going to consist of a single 12" driver in a Khaotik ported enclosure. My question: As far as output goes, not SQ by any means, which is better suited for my situation? A Fi SSD 12" or an SSA ICON 12"? The sub will be seeing around 1500 watts, probably not the full 1500 but that's about RMS on the amp. I'm looking for strictly output. I have all electrical necessary for the setup. It's just that after shipping, these 2 subs are about the exact same price, and same RMS rating. Just needing input, on the output of them lol. hey guys i have a cascade omega 15 and i love it it handles power no problem .... my question is can i run a night shade with my saz 3000 d daily like i do with my omega? and which would sound better? an which one had a bigger mag i never saw them compared.

I want to get rid of my factory speakers, at least the front ones for now (in the future, ill get another pair for the rear). I originally intended to go for the alpine type X, but then started digging more choices and ended up with a few recommendations. Ive heard somewhere (i cant remember where) that you cannot physically blow a mag..... Is that true? even with 3kw and the volume all the way up? just something i wondered when seeing the post that someone put that much power to one.....

Hey Everyone, I am switching from my 15 BL to either 12's or 10's. I love the 15's but I sold one to a friend and am trying to sell another one that I never even used NIB. Anyway, I was thinking of doing 2 or 3 12's or maybe even 4 10's. I just have not really made up my mind yet. I have not had either and I was wondering which you guys prefer. If you were going to make a system and had either choice what would you choose and why. Also what brand would you go with, I'm looking for good loud subs that stay tight and keep there quality. hey guys, im just curious to know everyones thoughts on the sundown sa8 v2s. pros and cons of the sub and does anyone know if there is a sa10 v2 in the making?

My buddy has 2 10" subs (cheapo off brands) and 2 12" subs (Dual Audio) and the tens are being pushed by a 300 watt amplifier and the 12's are being pushed by a 580 watt amplifier. I told him that i could buy one sub and be louder than him but he doesnt believe me. So I am asking you guys whether or not a Fi Q 12"or an AudioQue HDC312 (both powered by an AQ1200D) will be louder than his setup. I am almost positive just based on the fact that he has chit subs but i am also wondering if he just has to much of a cone area advantage. Do you guys think i'll be louder?

Hi guys I helped my buddy make a box for a rockford p3 slim 12 he picked up. I was curious as to how it would sound. And excited because I've seen videos online and never heard one in person. We built a to spec box using the Rockford website and I tuned it to 35. Seeing as how it's a shallow I didn't think there was need to hit low bass. Anyways it sound s pretty good. Just wanted to let those know who have not read the thread which I replied on that the Mag's are being built this Tuesday!! Packaging is going to take longer than actually building the drivers, so the official release date has yet to be posted. I will keep this forum updated though.

So I heard the MAW's were being discontinued. Any truth to this? And will this mean the MJ-18's too? I think an 18" that can fit in 4cuft ported is way to cool to discontinue.

Alright, i am looking to build up a daily gp build. I was almost dead on a pair of 15's Sundown SA's to be specfic. I guess i am looking to spend around 550ish to 600ish on subwoofers. I am pretty sure i have roughly 14 cubes to work with in my jeep i'll have to double check in the morning but im pretty sure its around that range. I have a sundown saz 3000d to throw at whatever combo i end up going with. My goal is to be as close as 148-149ish on music dbs would be nice but i know a lot of factors play into that. I have heard on other forums that the trunk of my car (1990 BMW 325is) is very well sealed off and its hard to get bass into the car so I am considering putting some 8's in the rear deck. Preferably 2 but I may be able to add a third. Just wondering if you guys could direct me in the right area and give me some ideas for nice 8 inch woofers. I want these things to get as loud as possible, I was originally planning on getting a 12" SX. I have looked into the RE8's, the Crystal Comps, and and Diamond Audio CM3. Alright so ive decided to take out the 15" q's entirely, and put my back seat back in and get 2 12" subs which will be ported max space is 4.0 cubes, amp is 1200 watts rms at 4 ohm's , 1500 watts at 2 ohms, and its not rated at 1 ohm but i have ran it at one ohm for a couple months on and off with no problems, I have a opima yellowtop up front, and am about to put a kinetik in the trunk, Anyway subs need to be loud but not all out spl and under 350 a piece suggestions??? I want i dont want a one note wonder

First off I know the coil and magnet gets warm when driven hard, but right now it is hooked up in my house to 250-300 watts rms, and I was watching a tv show at half volume, and I need to take my sub out afterwards because someone bought the box it was in, and i felt the magnet and it was luke warm. I am just wondering if this is normal and, if it gets warm at low power, how hot does it get when its driven at 1800rms for long term, in the car??

I'm trying to figure out what to get for a good sound system in my Escalade. I was thinking about getting 2 12inch cv stroker's,(any opinion on these). for the doors I was thinking about a boston acoustics components 6 1/2's not sure about a deck, back door speakers, and amps for speakers and the subwoofers. Please help. Speakers pairs not more than 300 bucks subs not more than 300 bucks a piece amps not sure imagine they'll be at least 500 but I want to keep it around 3500 dollars give me your ideas with install so.

I am looking for something with around 1500 watts rms, long throw excursion with 30mm or greater xmax. ok I'm planning my next system right now. (last one got stolen) I'm thinkin 2 RE SR10's ported going under the back seat of my '02 Ext. cab silverado. Realizing there is almost no room back there I figure the best plan would be to build two different enclosures for each side. Doing so would give me about 0.88 ft.^3 per sub after sub displacement. But to make these vented I'm thinking could make external ports over the transmission hump. Does this seem like a bad idea?
