So I was wanting to get my first sub set up in my car and have been doing some research and was hoping to get some information from you guys. I have an 02 Nissan Altima with a pioneer deh 4200ub headunit and pioneer 6x9's and alpine type S's up front. I was originally asking about getting comps in my rear deck but Ive decided I would really like a nice sub stage instead. Amp wise I think Ive decided on something from Sundown Audio. I contacted someone from Sundown and was asking about a refurb model because I am on a budget and the savings would help, my budget is around 500-600 for the amp and sub. What's up guys I'm trying to look for some good looking 10's don't want to spend a whole lot but they have to be somewhat decent. Something along the lines of arc audios foose edition subwoofers in terms of looks. Gold, white, silver, gun metal are the colors I've been looking for. Help a brother out thanks!

Was trying to see whats the best frequency to set on my alpine mrx-f35 amp. for the alpine type R 6.5's, i listen to alot of r&b and Rap. i like to play them at high volume but with good clarity, my current eq settings (avic z2 HU) and amp settings, they sound slightly harsh or "Screechy" at hi volumes

I want to have a system that hits the lows really good. (yeah you haven't heard that one before) But that's pretty much the reason I went with two Fi Q 18" instead for 15s or even 12s. So this is my option, I go for a sealed 10.24ft3 filled with PolyFiberfill giving me a theoretical volume of 11.5-12ft3 or I throw out the back seats and make one huge vented enclosure with subs and port firing towards the front seats. I don't really want to throw out the back seats, but if the vented system would be a lot better at the lows then I'm going for it. So I've been slammed (as usual) so without typing for an hour or more about what I've been doing I'll put it simply: My car got in a fight with a curb, the curb won, the car is fixed (all right side lower control arms, front rotor, lower ball joint on pass and steering ball joint on driver side were all replaced b/c of the accident and I installed new shocks all the way around while tearing the car apart). I have been considering trading up the BTL, as in, the woofer, and a chunk of $$$ for a LMS Ultra 18. I'm only considering on the grounds that it's said to be more accurate down low, much smaller enclosure requirements, and well, it's my dream subwoofer. However, I am not so in love with the woofer, that i'll piss away $450 on a trade up for looks alone. Has anyone used both woofers in an optimal alignment? There's nothing wrong with my BTL, but I want to pick a woofer and stick with it. I'm sick of the changing equipment and replacing things. im keeping the door panels factory, but i think im going to throw a set of kicker SSMB8's (8" midbass) in the doors and 5.25's in the kicks, problem is, dont know what 5.25's to use (i was thinking boston pro5's) and secondly, will just those as a front stage keep up with 145+db? the other idea was to just IB a set of 8" subs. any input would be great! thanks

just got Rockford Fosgate P1-1X12 its a ported enclosure made by the manufacturer, so i assume its decent enough of a port design for the subwoofer. i know ported makes it so its more difficult to hit fast notes. but i feel it really muddles the notes together and very little separation on fast bass notes. any way to improve this? i believe the gain is set to around 75% and the low pass filter is around 100 hz. the subwoofer is rated at 250 RMS. my amp is bridged and is rated at 300 RMS for the bridge. and the subwoofer is rated at 25-250 hz. would it be better to raise the hz on the low pass filter to around 150 or 200? or should 100 be fine? …

I know these are always awful, but I swear I've done my reading/searching and I'm not just saying "OMG U GUYS I WANNA SUB 2 POUND". I am, however, criminally indecisive so I might need a boost here. So I just moved my Pioneer sub into my BMW 328i. Same enclosure, same amp. New power/ground wires, new rcas, new speaker wire. The headunit is BMWs factory and the amp is getting signal from a LOC that is connected to the BMWs factory amplifier. The subwoofer does NOT sound the same anymore as expected. But the problem is that its not close to as loud as it was on the expedition. They told me the BMW has a well-sealed trunk, could this be the reason why Im somehow not feeling the bass anymore? I also had to lower the gains a bit (from what I had it on the expedition) and the sub gets hot faster and my trunk has been getting that burning smell constantly since I installed …

Are there any premade subwoofer enclosures that are available online to buy that would fit the Fi BTL "15 perfectly?

Here is a couple of my new subs for my new build! TC9 motor based custom "Chuck Norris" woofers! Good for about 2K a pop and they should MURDER the Lows! The others arrive tomorrow! Can't wait! I am looking at upgrading the components in my doors and I have narrowed it down to these three components. I cannot demo the 165XL because no one around me has any on their demo board. I am wanting to know what you all recommend as far as midbass and accurate sound reproduction which are the better speakers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

alrighty lets try this again.. earlier i noted that i was looking for new 6.5 mid drivers. luck as i would have it my drivers side 6.5 went out the other day... so ive been looking around and the cadence cwm6 componets have caught my eye. however, im not entirely sure if they will fit due to the size of the magnet. aswell as depth... here is what i have to work with... here are the window tracks that make me question if they will fit.. just shy of 2 1/2 inches and here is the MAX depth before the window.. just a little past 3 inches with spacers maybe its possible to push the speakers forward? it almost seems i have about 3/4 of an inch to push forward.. i want to …

My girlfriend has a Sundown SAE-1200D and wants a single 18 that'll pound in 4 cubes sealed. She prefers the sound a sealed setups. These are the ones that caught her eye.

Ok so i had went to the meca show here in my town of bakersfield on saturday and wow!!! There had to of been over 200 show cars there and all of flex issues rides. The food was good, the ladies were lookin good, and the Dc audio was slammin!! Iv never heard dc before this and i had always wondered what the fuss was about but now i know. There was a suv there with 4 18s doin 155 and at the end of his run he had shaddered his windshield completely!! Then a little crx with 2 12" dc xls puttin in work like no other. All together it was an amazing show and i Had lots of fun.

I own two rockford t1's and are a true rockford fan but want some more poundage but i recently saw the steve meade videos and am intrigued. i notice hes running a Rf amp of course but not the t2's which makes me wonder. what do you guys think would be better and i want an opinion from someone who actually has heard both on which i should go with. 2 t2 15'' or 2 btl 18"

Hey all. I was hoping you all could help me compare and contrast a couple different subs. I’m not going to ask which is better, I’ll make that decision. Just want some input on where each sub may have its strong points, weak points, etc. speaker size is 15”. Amp rms rated power is 2750 at 1 ohm. But after rise etc etc you get the idea. Enclosure will be 3 cu ft ported with about 50 sq in of port. Subs are as follows 1. Sundown Z v.3 2. SSA XCON 3. I can't get the dustcap to stay in place,what am I doing wrong? Rubberized glue didn't hold,CA didn't hold,5 min epoxy didn't hold.i ruffed the surface of dustcap w/emery cloth. Time to step back and punt! Also the first two weeks after the recone I had to keep volume down my amp would protect on me. Now I can full tilt w/no issues,confused on that also.

With my components the crossover has -3, 0 and +3 dB what do most people use? I will be right at the sets rms maybe a little over but not by much.
