  1. Which one would be the better choice??? I can get the jbl for 245 and the zapco for 550 shipped, both would be ran at 4 ohms on a 12 Mag. I believe the jbl is rated 787 watts at 4 ohms and the zapco 800 watts at 4 ohms. I really want the zapco but I dont know if power diference is worth $305. Does anybody know if the zapco is stable at 1 ohm??? If yes, then I will definitly pick it up.

  2. Okay, so I'm wanting to build a box into my worthless backseat area in my mustang and reverse mount a 18 which should look sweet as hell. I'm not walling it into the trunk though, I dont /think/ anyway, it will depend on if I can fit it or not. The point is 1: to keep my trunk space open and 2: to avoid firing in the trunk at all to avoid all the nasty trunk rattles. 3: to look badddass. Here is a picture to get the idea, a mix of both is what I'm going for. Question is, does anyone have experience with mustang cabin responses, etc that can recommend me away or towards a specific sub? I'm going to have about 2500~ RMS to a single 18. I was thinking a ZCON initially, as …

Time to step back and punt! Also the first two weeks after the recone I had to keep volume down my amp would protect on me. Now I can full tilt w/no issues, confused on that also.

Hey everyone! So my dad leased out a new 2012 Fusion Sport and has had it for about 3 months now. We were talkin about selling my trailblazer and i just take over the lease! He's a great salesmans at Hines Park Ford in New Hudson/Milford, Michigan and he can get a demo that the dealership will pay for. Also if you want a ford go to him lol. I'm pretty lucky because im only 18 and i'm gettin a 2012! Love my parents!! I have not yet measured out the trunk yet but it looks fairly large. The size of the box I can fit will determine if I will choose 2 15s or 2 12s. I dont want to squeeze 2 15s in the trunk if it wont be optimal. I plan to have subs and port facing forward sea…

I was going to save a bit of cash and order some Exodus Anarchy's, but lo and behold a nice little pair of Faital Pro 6FE200's have fallen into my lap. I'm looking for tweeter suggestions. I will probably be mounting off axis in sails or a pillars. Budget is under $150 for the pair. $150 being absolute maximum.

Alright, i am looking to build up a daily gp build. I was almost dead on a pair of 15's Sundown SA's to be specfic. I guess i am looking to spend around 550ish to 600ish on subwoofers. I am pretty sure i have roughly 14 cubes to work with in my jeep i'll have to double check in the morning but im pretty sure its around that range. I have a sundown saz 3000d to throw at whatever combo i end up going with. My goal is to be as close as 148-149ish on music dbs would be nice but i know a lot of factors play into that. Also i don't want to build a wall unless the gains were huge. I listen to mostly rock, heavy metal, as well as rap. Going in a 2001 grand cherokee limited, if …

I managed to get my hands on 4 old school Rockford Fosgate 12" Punch Z's yesterday in about a 4ft^3 sealed box for 30$ and a pre-fab sealed box for 2 15's... Just for kicks and giggles, I put this setup in the trunk of my Grand Am hooked to a 1000w memphis amp. Drove up the street playing "I'm Raw" by Lil Wayne, turned the bass knob up, and just about S*** myself. I was absolutely blown away by the performance of these things! They don't look like they could blow the dust off of the dustcap.. but looks obviously aren't everything. For 30$, I'd say I've found myself a great temporary daily setup until I order my Z15. I'll record a video saturday while I'm off work to show …

Ive been doing some research on some 8' subs with about a $200 budget and was hoping for some suggestions. I've mainly had my eye on the new alpine's since I can get them about $90 a pop. If anybody knows someone that is selling some 8's for sale in a fair price range, or if the sundown SA-8 by itself could topple most 8 inch couples then that input would be handy as well. Secondly, I hear its quite difficult to make a screamin ported box for this size of sub and was hoping for some direction here as well. When I look at youtube videos I see ports that are sometimes much bigger than the box they are in alone. =/ I've fooled around with WinISD pro alpha version, and pu…

Well I get back to the house and see a package at the door and I think "sweet! The second Mag came in today!" Well I get up to the door and notice that it is not our specific box (we have all drivers packaged and shipped a certain way in certain boxes). The box is oblonged shaped with scratches, dent, and scuffs all over it. I take it in the house and this is what I see (pics below). Fedex apparently played football in a concrete parking lot with the drivers motor and then threw it in a random box with no packaging. The magnet slugs are off-center big time and there are magnet shards all over it. To boot, the surround has a puncture in it. Looks like the Blazer wil…

BACKGROUND: I currently drive a '93 Saturn SW2, (which I will probably need to replace soon, but more on that later), and use a single 10" sub, (Cerwin Vega VMAX: 500 watts RMS), in a ported enclosure tuned to 35ish Hz powered by a 500 watt RMS (at 2 ohms) amp, (don't ask what brand, its embarrassing). After the answers I recieved to a question I asked in another forum, I have decided to purchase a Fi BL. I want my setup to have great SQ and plenty of volume. Question #1: Is the 18 inch sub going to be amazingly louder than the 15 and what options would be best to improve the SQ and volume of eithersub? Question #2: If I am unable to upgrade my amplifier immediately, (bud…

So i just received my BTL about an hour ago, and since i just bought myself a nice touchscreen sony camera, i thought i would document the unboxing, install, and everything. But since i am a little frusterated with FI right now, i figure i would vent. I purchased a 12" btl back in December, and was 105% satisfied with quality and everything about the sub. I got bored of the 12" so i sold it and now moving up to a 15". But this time around, im left feeling a little doubtful about FI product. Ill post specs and then vent: BTL15 DUAL 1 | DUAL 2 Fs: 35.6 Hz | 34.6 Hz Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil Qms: 5.72 | 5.90 Qes: .24 | .22 Qts: .23 | .22 Mms: 256g | 272g …

I'm buying new speakers for front stage. I'm pretty set on getting alpines to match my power pack. I've been looking into the Type R 6.5" components but I was wondering if it's worth it to spend the extra money to get the Type X. I've heard good and bad about both so I was wondering if you guys had any personal experience with either one of them. Thanks guys

So I was wanting to get my first sub set up in my car and have been doing some research and was hoping to get some information from you guys. I have an 02 Nissan Altima with a pioneer deh 4200ub headunit and pioneer 6x9's and alpine type S's up front. I was originally asking about getting comps in my rear deck but Ive decided I would really like a nice sub stage instead. Amp wise I think Ive decided on something from Sundown Audio. I contacted someone from Sundown and was asking about a refurb model because I am on a budget and the savings would help, my budget is around 500-600 for the amp and sub. DB-r is their refurbisher from what ive read and currently they dont ha…

Hello everyone. It`s Marcos from the U.K. The only person in Europe (as far as I know) who is using the new 15" Magnums. I hope you guys can see these photos. Last time I was on here I had difficulty in doing it. Anyway. Here goes. Starting out: It looks like a house. The baffle is in. And look what`s going in it. 4x 15" Magnums 3x 6" Aeroports. The box is 20 cu.ft. Tuning it to 27Hz. Is this O.K.? Please tell me you can see the photos?

I want it loud, but I like the bass to be tight. as much if both as possible I like what I read on the forums about the magnum, but I have a friend competeing here, which says W7 for live

Alright, so here we go.. I want to upgrade my front stage while waiting on the Icon sub I have coming sometime this month.(already ordered) What I want to do it get rid of my Alpine 6x9s I have in the front doors and eliminate that horrid speaker the factory Toyota calls a "tweeter" ... I've somewhat bugged //M5 already and instead of continuing to fill his inbox I will give the SSA community a chance to jump in.. So I had found this chart: http://www.listenhear.co.uk/general_acoustics.htm I asked //M5 and he already stated that it is a decent chart but needs somewhat more range. So what my goal is and obviously this could be the wrong way in approaching it, but I hope…

Hey guys, I'm finally biting the bullett and putting some bass in my 2012 Mustang 5.0... It has the shaker 500 system, but I def need more thump. My available dimensions are 38"W x 15"H x 11"D Those are the Max dimensions for the space I want to take up. It calculates out to 2.7ft^3 using the max dimensions. I am trying to pick between 3 10's in a sealed box, or 2 12's sealed, or one 12 ported.... I initially wanted a single 15 sealed but I just don't have the height as my MAX height is 15" for the box. I will be powering it with a Hifonix bxi1610d (1600wrms@1ohm). I have been looking at 3 10w3v3's, or type-r's, as those can both be had fairly cheap online. Any ot…
