I recently got my first comp set. They where used. I hooked them up to my head unit. They are working just not much came out of the mid bass speaker. Is this do to lack of power from the head unit? I have an amp to power th just do not have all my cables to connect it. I was excited and wanted to here them. Should I expect better results once connected to my amp?

Alright, the other day, just messing around with my subs(SWS-1023D's in a "folded horn" box), i decided to run one of them reversed with the other one regular. also in my adventures, i placed them in the far back of my trunk facing(subs and port) towards the cab. I was suprised when i cranked the music and heard not only an increase in SPl but also a better SQ . Now being the Noob that I am, im curious to why this resulted like it did. i tried searching other forums but failed to come up with any useful information. and if it is a simple explination, why wasnt it set up like this when i had installed? Thanks for any and all comments

Would anyone happen to know where I'd be able to get soft parts/recone kits for 3 Soundstream Exact10's? I've had these fantastic subs for a few year, blown, figuring one day I'll get to use them again. So I am looking for either soft parts that'll fit or someone that could recone them from me thats local (Toronto, Canada) Thanks in advance.

Well i just found out how simple it is to lift the rear seat of my truck which will give me chittons more airspace. HOORAY! Here is a potential box design i will use. http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/genera...r-seat-box.html With that down-firing design I would get approximately 1.55 ft^3 before sub displacement per sub chamber. or about 3 ft^3 for total airspace. If i reworked the design and made it up-firing, it would bring the total enclosure volume to about 3.6 ft^3. So with that amount of space to work with, I want more SQ than SPL but still like to bump from time to time. I used to have 2 RE se12s sealed.(Loved em). I listen to all kinds of music. Budget - hop…

Well, they are shipping and I do have mine. It sounds great, the output is less than I am used to, but still more than I need. Listening to songs the biggest difference I notice is how pointed and short some of the notes actually are compared to how long they seemed on my BMs. They sound much closer to my B&Ws in my room, just pin pricks of sound where it should be with no hangover. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a true SQ sub. Now the caveats: If you are looking for a loud sub that can take more than 1000 watts this is not the sub for you. This is designed specifically for a 1 cubic foot sealed box, that is it. They are also designed to only take 1000 w…

Hi Guys I live in Houston and I'm considering buying some magnums but I would love to hear them first. If there is anyone in the Houston area that would like to meet up with me to let me hear their Magnum(s) I would really appreciate. I just joined this board but I've been posting on caf, sin and the 12volt.com for a while. feel free to shoot me an email and I will be glad to give you my phone number. I would really like to hear one or two of the subs so I could make a decision on what to put in my car next.

So i just got my components in the mail today, and i was very excited. lol. but then as i take out one of the drivers, i hear something inside the dust cap rattling around! I tested it out and i can hear it rattle at low volumes, but it goes away at higher volumes. Do i have to send it back in, or is there anything i can do? The rattle is only in one driver.

Once I took my speaker out of the box I noticed some...issues.... Overall the speaker looks to be in pretty good shape except for one thing - the pad has come off between the cone and the tinsel lead / spider. On top of that, it looks like the tinsel lead came unstitched from the spider. I don't think this will be a huge issue but if there's a way to fix it I would like to try so I don't get tinsel slap (I think I was getting that before). Well here are my basic questions - - - - What kind of glue should I use to attach the pad back to the cone? I was told the glue "goop" should do the trick but if I don't have to run to the store I don't want to. Would just plain old sup…
