Subwoofers / Speakers

I have a 1997 grand am and it came stock with tweeters, the door speakers are 4x6's. Tried a search for it but came up with nothin. How do I go about upgrading them, do I upgrade the speaker and tweeter seperate or what, do they have a factory crossover. Thanks for any help.

Looking for an SQ sub that gets pretty loud and still clear. I have a Kicker zx1500.1, rated at 1687 RMS at 2 ohms, so that's around 840 RMS at 4. I don't care if it's a a 12 or 15 as long as it fits in my trunk. I like the IDMax but it's too expensive. I really don't want to spend more than 300. I also like the Fi Q 15" but I'm afraid 1687 is too much and 840 is not enough. Any suggestions?

alright, this isnt really about the subs in general, but I am not starting a build log right now so figured this is where it should go. I recently picked up a trio of ppi pcx102 dual 2 10" flat cones. I am going to wire them to a 1.33 ohm load, got a few ideas on amps but am wondering about how much power I could give to them. they are rated at 250 rms but was wondering if they could possibly handle a little more as long as its clean? I have more than this but am willing to devote about 5.5 cubes before port and sub to this build. I plan on buying the DCON to put in the trunk of my sons car. It will be powered by an Alpine MRP-M500. I have the recommended specs for the ported box. My question is does any one have a top firing and top port box plan for this sub? I plan on cutting holes in the rear deck to allow sound from the trunk to enter the cabin area. Any other Jetta folks out there with any ideas on the best way to get sound into the cabin with the rear seats closed?

Which one would have the most output for daily in a 3 12, common chamber slot port tuned to 32 hz? Im mainly looking for something that will get loud and low and still sound moderately decent. My amplifier is a saz-3000d so im looking for 3 12's in the 1000 + watts range. Anyone have experience with the two? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

My jeep has 6x9 in the front and 6.5 in the back. Thy are the infinity gold system that came with the jeep. I just purchased a pair of ID ctx65cs speakers and am stuck on what I should do. My options are as follows 1. Put ID component set in back and replace front 6x9 with ID ctx69. Buy a 4 channel amps to run all 4 2. Buy another set of ctx65cs and run them in front and back off a 4 channel amp 3. Put ctx65cs in front and run off a 2 channel amp(100rms x2). Run the stock rear speakers off of the head unit. So I am looking for a sub that could fit my needs. I need something around a 6" mounting depth as that would give me just over 1.5" of backspacing. I was planning for 4 sa 10's but my box wouldn't allow for it. My max dimensions for the box are 27-H x58-W x9.5-D1 x6.12.5-D2. Any help would be great.

Hi All, Would like some advice from those who have heard them. I have a sealed box that has appx .75 cubes after displacement. It has to be sealed and I prefer sealed anyhow. I put two Sundown SA-10's in there (yes I know they are better ported but my son has sa-12's sealed and sound great) but they just aren't doing it. Maybe some of it is because I'm used to my son's 12's but it seems like the 10's aren't hitting all the frequencies. They sound amazing with certain songs but not so great with others. I listen to mainly rock and metal btw. They are running off an AQ2200d and are going under the back seat of a 2012 Dodge Ram running at 1ohm. Anyhow, I would like to …
