Subwoofers / Speakers

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and was hoping u experts can help me decide on a sub(s)/amp combo that would best suit my taste. I want either 2-10s or 1-12, I listen to mostly R&B and some Rap. I will probably get custom ported box build to spec or suggestions for my listen preference. I was looking at the Fi Audio Q, SSA Icon, SS Rl-p for 12s and the Fi Audio SSDs, SSA Dcons, SS Rl-i, Boston Acoustics G3s for 10s... I have about $1200 to spend and want to keep amp rms to a 1000watts or less cause I don't wanna upgrade my electrical and it should enough for daily listening.. All help is appreciated and any other suggestion are welcomed...

guys as i mentioned in a few other threads i am a sales rep and i spend ALOT of time in the car. after debating for hours what would be best-- build a killer small sub box ( RLi8 or like with a PR to keep it small ) or redo my doors one of our resident experts here hit the nail on the head " why would you spend so much time or money on a sub? it reproduces about 15% of your sound ". it really hit home. i deadened my doors with Raamat, but did not do the closed cell foam on either skin of the door. when it warms up i want to make sure i do the closed cell foam ( is it better to line the inside of the door or between the panel trim and outer skin? ). i boug…

Hey all.I got my system installed and have been bumping for about a week.Havent had any promblems at all except for when I play higher notes.When I play the higher notes I can smell my subs a little bit.I noticed this like the day I installed them so I have been staying away from songs with the higher notes because I really don't want to ruin my new subs.I have my gain set slightly less than half way and that is really all I have touched on my amp.I have a DC 5k amp and 4 10" DC lvl 3's with lvl 4 upgrades.My enclosure is tuned to 33hz and I have 2 100ah batts as reserve with a 250amp Singer alternator.I have a clipping indicator on my bass knob and I always make sure it …

Just out of curiousity, which would have more output with 1000 watts? I know both have great SQ. 1 Icon 15 ported or 2 RL-i 10s ported? Each setup for a LSQ setup, not a SPL or SQ setup.

Alright... so currently I have a shitty front stage since I was not looking to go "crazy" with the audio... that plan did not stay.. I went from some old school JL audio 10" w3's to a Pioneer Premiere 12" and then to a 12" SSA Icon and now I currently have a 15" SSA Xcon sealed enclosure... so far I love the sound... What's up folks I'm about to buy 2 Fi Bl 15's fully loaded I'm wanting to know whats the most power they can handle daily because I have a Memphis mojo 4000 & I personally don't like just doing rms power that's why I chose this subwoofer & not the btl series. As the topic title reads I need info on ID horns. I have 2 sets of horns. Both sets are full size. I have had minimal results searching for info on these horns. One set came with the install and tuning instructions. What I am looking for is the correct crossover freq. for these sets, power ratings, and the advantages of one set over the other. I did find this link for what I beleive is the V-2 version PDF but the driver in the second set of pictures does not match the driver in the PDF. Any info or input you can provide is appreciated. 1st set-Beleived to be CD1E-V1 2nd set-Paper work that came with it states-CD1E-V.2

12" zcon D2 for my jeep liberty!

I have audioque 2200d and i was wondering what subwoofer setup would get louder? The sub i have right now is a xcon 18 the box is a 5 cubic feet,the other woofers i have in mind are 2 new 12inch icon`s both setups will be ran off the same amp..It is a trunk setup.Thanks for any info..

Let me start by saying that in no way, am I bashing this sub. It is god like compared to the mainstream brands I have always run in the past. My current system is 1 12" Fi BL w/ cooling on a Sundown SAZ 1500.v3. The box is right from the cut sheet on this forum, posted by ndmstang 2.4 cu. ft. @ 32 hz. Hello guys, greetings from Romania I need some opinions with a new box for a sundown audio sa12. I'm currently running the sub in a sealed enclosure (1.3ft³), on audio que 2200d at 4 ohm, until it will loosen up a little bit to handle 1000-1500w at 1 ohm. I whant to add that I own a sedan car, and thinking to put the sub up close to the port. So, any ideas, suggestions? Any response will be greatly appreciated.

im looking to buy an amp (preferably under 400) thats gonna push two 2 ohm l7s, each wired down to 1 0hm. whats my best investment? need wisdom....

I don't have much room at all, so driver needs to be less than 3.5" depth. Looking for a dual 10" setup for sealed application. Was browsing what's available and came across: Pionneer TS-SW2501S4. (3" depth, 300RMS and 20-290Hz freq. range) Rockford Fosgate Punch P3SD410 (3.5", 300RMS and 45-250Hz freq. range) Now, judging by spec Pioneer would be the one to get, more shallow and more broad range, including <30Hz. These are manufacturer specs so you never know though. Don't want to spend anymore that $150 each, and something that plays a wide range including <30Hz, as flat response as possible. So far that Pioneer looks like a winner.

So I have had my Evil 15 for about 2 months give or take and love it! I am powering it with a Sundown SCV3000D in a 4.25cuft enclosure tuned to 32hz. I am thinking of increasing my power with an SCV4000D. Will I notice the difference with the increase in power and is it worth it? I also know that I will need to rebuild and go with something on the smaller side but how big should my box be with the increase in power? Any and all help is appreciated!

I think the saying "you get what you pay for" is true. That bein said would it be wiser to get a better quality 10" sub or a lesser quality 15" sub? Or is that just a favor of difference in a punchy 10 or versatile 15?

Hey guys, so I finished the build for my F150 (Thread "Looking for output in 1.75ft) and I have good news and bad. The enclosure is 2.5ft net tuned using two 3"x15" round ports to what the builder states is 33hz. Subs are a pair of Skar VVX10s on 1100wrms. Well the thing picked up a TON of low end, it pounds out the bottom octave like no tomorrow, with songs like "Late Night Tip" hitting so hard my wife said it shakes her rearview mirror when I'm behind her at a stoplight...lol But that's about it. It doesn't play anything else well. More average bass frequencies (45-55hz I'm thinking) is pretty soft and the kick drums in Metallica's ONE are absolutely nonexistent. I've p…
