Is there a good way to fix a broken basket of a 12 zcon. . Its broke where the spokes connect to the top ring. . 4 of them are broke. But sub works perfect. . . . Really don't want to have to recone. . . Is this able to be welded? Without messing up surround or anything

  2. So this the story guys. I "supposedly" have 2 DC level 3 15s dual 4s and am currently running maybe 500 rms total. I set gains with a dd1 and everything is set the way it should be. Crossovers have also been properly set for my application. These subs apparently have no cooling capability whatsoever has I can hear the dust cap rattling from too much heat.... I pucking hate these things and don't know why I bought them. Any suggestions on if I am wired at the amp wrong? I am wired at 4 ohms total load right now but I don't know. I have a precision power black ice 1800d and I heard the wiring for this amp is a little different? Any help would be appreciated Sincerely, Mlca…

Ok well one of the two 8's I have currently is having some mechanical issues so I have opted to switch brands all together to Sundown to match my amps i currently have. Right now it has two Atomic AP8's in it and the volume I'm working with is 1.8ish i think that was before displacement give or take a little. I can knock out the ports out and make them longer if need bit but it seems to be that the overall tuning should be roughly 35 hz from what i have been reading. I would run this through my bass box pro app but i dont have it loaded on any computers at the moment could someone give me an idea of what the length of the ports im working with should be? FYI the curre…

  7. So. I'm looking for a tweeter that can play pretty low (~2k and up) and I came across these and from the specs they seem to do what I want them to. They're also easier to mount than a traditional large-format tweeter. So yeah. I have these http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-8-woofers/silver-flute-w20rc38-04-ohm-8-wool-cone/ Off axis in the doors. I like them. I couldn't really tell you why except to say that they play down to ~60hz and sound nice doing it. I know I can't cross them over very high though. So out of these two, which would work better. http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/horn-tweeters/audax-pr125t1-horn-tweeter/ http://www.madisoundspeakerstor…

  8. I have these mystery 15" subwoofers, I need some help finding out who makes them and what they're rated. The way they are installed atm in this guys tahoe would make it a real pain to take them out and check the back, so hopefully this is the easiest solution. The dust caps say five star champion series, Anytime I try to search the internets for them I get 5star ratings on subs and pioneer champion series.

Want to get some opinions. Will you get a 15" or 18" sub? Let's go with the Xcon. And, why you would choose one over the other?

Hey guys, Hopefully ya'll can give me some help here. I have two 12" JL Audio W6v2 in a sealed box powered by a Big Bang Planet Audio D-CLass 1250.1 x 1 amp. Subs sound good but been having them since 2005 and want to upgrade to something bigger and with more output. I have not heard the Xcons and those are the subs I intend to get. I am looking into one 18" or two 15's. They will be powered by the same amp named above, and I will be looking into getting either sub(s) into a Khaotik Ported enclosure. I would have this setup in a 2007 Yukon. Question: Will I be better, in terms of output, getting just ONE 18, or TWO 15's? 2nd Question: Do I go with dual 1ohm or …

I just had two of the DD1508 subs installed in my trunk and am absolutely amazed at what they are putting out. These frigging subs pound and sound like (2) 12's. has anyone else had the pleasure of running these same subs and if so any comments on the way they performed?

  13. I'm pretty much set with going the SSA route, just need some help with my options. First, I am looking more for SQ rather than SPL, but also want to be able to make hairs stand on my neck and get loooow when needed. So Im thinking a sealed enclosure...also to save space. Currently my amp runs 750rms @2 ohm (1000 @ 1 ohm stable), so most likely would upgrade amp if need. With regards to damping factor on amps, would 2 ohm be sufficient vs 1 ohm on most amps or is this not such an important aspect? I'm considering two Gcon 12's or a single Icon/Xcon...price being important as I would like to stay under $500. If I go single sub would 15" be as efficient as two 12"? And wou…

I am currently building my first enclosure. When it comes to building the double front baffle should I do choice 1 or 2. 1. Should I glue the two pieces together. Then router my hole for my speaker. 2. Router my two holes. Then glue my boards together. Thnaks I know this is a simple just trying to make it easier on myself.

  15. Hi. I am trying to install a small amp that will also supply some great Bass tones both deep and High and was wondering which one of these companies to use. I have heard alot of great things about both of them and they are. "Sundown Audio SA-8 V2 D4" Or "Digital designs DD1008". If anyone can help please let me know something and thank you.

It's been awhile since I've been here working 60+ hours aweek. First off, I love my clarIon SSW1200 and have been very pleased with it. I'm looking at lowering the overall wattage in my stereo. I'm looking at the SSA subs. My retirements: SQ Want some good output, SPL. And HAS to fit in a 1.45 cf ported box that is tuned to 37Hz. I simply don't have the room for a bigger box. Let me know please, what's good for 400 wrms AND 1000 wrms both at 4 ohms.

I'm looking for midbass speakers for an install. Processing: more than likely a minidsp Power: will be chosen once the midbass is picked out. Midrange speakers: TB W3 or W4, so I imagine 300-400 Hz is the LP for midbass Depth: 3", although I might can stretch it to 4". It's going ON the doors of a Mercedes W124, I'm unsure how much I can cut into the door and go back, so the shallower, the better. Overkill is the main goal here, that's how the owner does everything on the car The midbass will be attached to the door by means of a plywood "box" and vented in the door. High-ish output is desired and this had me thinking about a pair of 6.5-7" midbass / door. The …

I've decided on a FI SSD 10" for my sealed application. Will be running two of them off an AD2200d. Trying to decide whether or not the cooling option is necessary. I'v decided non of the other options are really necessary but would appreciate input if someone thinks I'm mistaken. Daily driver, not super loud all the time but I like to rock out when I feel the need. Thoughts?

  22. Okay, so I'm wanting to build a box into my worthless backseat area in my mustang and reverse mount a 18 which should look sweet as hell. I'm not walling it into the trunk though, I dont /think/ anyway, it will depend on if I can fit it or not. The point is 1: to keep my trunk space open and 2: to avoid firing in the trunk at all to avoid all the nasty trunk rattles. 3: to look badddass. Here is a picture to get the idea, a mix of both is what I'm going for. Question is, does anyone have experience with mustang cabin responses, etc that can recommend me away or towards a specific sub? I'm going to have about 2500~ RMS to a single 18. I was thinking a ZCON initially, as …

Either way I have to get a new box sub and amp. Which would be louder the gcon will get 800w rms at least and the two dcons would get around 750-800 aswell

well my original plan was to get two FI BL 15's, and i have ordered one and i am using it now and i really like it but my girlfriend wanted a sub just like mine so i have to order two more subs and due to the fact that im going to have an 8 cube box i think im going to go with two FI BTL N2 15's instead, running on a crescendo bc5500 instead of the bc3500 and im going to do the big three with a 270 singer alternator with an overdrive pulley then an xs d3400 under the hood and i was going to have a single d3100 in the back but im guessing ill have to add a second one, and the box is going to be tuned at 33 hertz also. gonna make the little colorado FLEX! Hi All, Would like some advice from those who have heard them. I have a sealed box that has appx .75 cubes after displacement. It has to be sealed and I prefer sealed anyhow. I put two Sundown SA-10's in there (yes I know they are better ported but my son has sa-12's sealed and sound great) but they just aren't doing it. Maybe some of it is because I'm used to my son's 12's but it seems like the 10's aren't hitting all the frequencies. They sound amazing with certain songs but not so great with others. I listen to mainly rock and metal btw. They are running off an AQ2200d and are going under the back seat of a 2012 Dodge Ram running at 1ohm. Anyhow, I would like to …
