  1. I am looking at a pair of used Crossfire Db3 12"s, for my nephews ride. Not a brand I am familiar with, so was hoping someone had experience with them. The gentleman selling them only wants $50 for the pair, so right in the price range I want to spend on the kid. I know they are subs and will make sound, just making sure they are not majorly flawed by design or anything. Thanks in advance.

So I'm not sure how much you can tell from winISD by modeling subs, but if anyone wants to help me out and model 2 sets of subs for me in winISD that would be great! Also, exactly what information can you get from modeling subs?

  5. Hey guys, I want to rebuild my 1803s with 5 or more spiders... be it very loose or very tight spiders to kryptonitewhite-proof them. When I replaced the AP30001D something amazing happened... the van started playing as it was supposed to. Most incredible amzing low end output. Air movement that no one would believe unless they actually sat in it, but if you did, rear-end leakage was destined to occure. My family and I had a blast for 2 days, so many looks of aw and amazement and sometimes fear when suddenly things would be recorded louder and lower. Looks of "is the van going to explode? Are we going to die?" Then, as it just always has to happen, there was a quiet song.…

  6. Does anybody know the exact cutout for the Zcon 18"? I will be using a Jasper jig on my router. I know it says 16.75" but I thought I heard it was a bit smaller? They are not here yet and I need to cut my baffles. Thanks.

  8. I was wondering if I can send my Adire Brahma MkIII to be fixed other than Adire themselves. I got it a while back from Low-Hz, and it got shipped blown (once I opened the smashed shipping box, I pushed in the cone and it was stiff and made scratching noises) I ended up with a Mag D2, but I still have the Brahma and I want it fixed. Thanks

I am planning on doing 6 DB DRIVE plw12d2's in a 4th order enclosure because im getting a good deal on them. I was just wondering if anyone on here has ever used DB DRIVE before or seen a set up with them and what they thought. I have 2 right now on 600 watts ported and they don't really move at all and it metered somewhere around 138 (can't remember exactly). They are rated for 1,000 rms each and i had 1,000 going to the pair for about a week to see what they would do and it metered at 143.1 so they don't seem to be too bad. I talked to a couple people on other forums about these subs and everyone is saying that they are pretty impressive if you put 1,000 - 1,200 on …

  15. Sorry it`s a JBL sub - But I do not have any MAG 12" Yet... Anyway this will give you a good idea of what an ISO set up does. The following text is taken from my Forum: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- O.K. Get ready because you are about to see one of the worse looking installs ever. I`ve not bothered doing anything special because my boot space is regularly taken up with power tools / tools / bags of sand etc. So there you go. No point in having a nice looking install that will get messed up within a few weeks. Anyway what I did today whilst at work was... ...add another 12" JB…

As the thread title gives away I'm just wondering if anyone has actually tried the IXL10 IB? or if they would even work in that setup. Basically I've got a mate building a comp SQ car and wants either 8 or 10in drivers under the front seats in IB (yep venting outside the car) lots of metal cutting on this one. T.S. specs for the 10 aren't perfect but thought someone might have tried anyway and could give an opinion. Any thoughts yay or nay are appreciated. Thanks, Jono

Ran across a website that makes speaker pods for my vehicle. (03 Tahoe) http://www.customspeakerpods.com/Front-Door-Speaker-Pods-for-65-Speakers-GM-01-01-01-A.htm Has anyone used these? Price isn't bad at all. The different aiming of the speaker may be a plus. Opinions, comments?

i have a single Powerbase XS 15 coming and want to make a box for it but have no idea where to start. It will powered by an XTR Pro 2400 going in the trunk of an 02 Grand Prix. on the site it says for 4.5 cu. ft. internal, and a slot port of 36 sq. in. x 15" long. Does that 4.5 cube internal space include the port area, or do you have to figure that in too? That is for the recommended tuning of 34 hz. Also, would it be benefical at all for to tune a little lower, i was thinking maybe 31-32ish, i wanted it be able to play low also... It will be for daily driving, no comps at all, i just want it to sound good and get pretty loud also. Thanks, any help is appreciated. If an…

  19. http://www.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=115401 I started a thread on CA.com, im trying to come up with a good box, and im not really too happy with the frequency response my 2000SPL's offer using WinISD. This being a more serious, on topic forum, does anyone have any suggestions or answers to the questions asked on that thread? feel free to post either here or on CA.com Thanks! Sergei

about a yr ago I bought a couple of used 9500's with the full composite cone. I finally have gotten around too testing one, and I am impressed with the amount of effeiciency, considering how much power one is known to handle. what I am wondering is, if I were to recone them with DD pulp cones would that help warm up the tone a bit? when listening too rap or anything with mostly sinewaves they sound fine. when listening too metal, rock, or classical they sound almost lifeless. so if anyone has had a chance to test them with both cone materials please chime in

I'll be running a pair of 12W6v2 in a sealed enclosure. I'm getting Alpine PDX amps for the system because they're great amps, I can get a great deal on them, and most importantly, they're SMALL. I'm not sure whether to run a single PDX 1.1000 to the subs, or run a pair of those amps, one to each sub. So the question is, should I just be running them at 500w each or 1000w each? It's a SQ system, but I guess LSQ is more accurate. The rest of the system (6", 3", 1" in the front, no rear stage) will be run by a pair of 4.150s.

  23. I used to have a single 10 DCON sealed with about .7 ft^3 of airspace and loved it, just wanted a tad more output. I figured the easiest way would be to put 2 10's in a sealed box. The problem is I'm not sure if I have optimal room for it. I've got a 08 Passat that I want to keep the spare tire available which restricts my area for the box to against seats where the trunk curves in. Not sure if this would give me optimal enclosure for 2 DCONs. My next thought would be to put 2 8" subs instead. The best 8 inch subs I've seen are the Sundown SA-8. Anyone have any other recommendations that fit for my application? Long story short, here are the cliffs: - Max dimensions are 8…

So I would really like to learn more about all the T/S parameters and what each affects. I have been searching for a nice 10" at an afordable price and settled on the Fi BL for price and performance, and based on what I thought I knew about subs picked it over the Mach 5 IXL since it has a higher sensitivity and fs and SD I figured its louder. Then I modeled them both in WinISD beta... The red is the IXL blue is the BL, the lower line is my best attempt on both subs for a daily vented box, basically the flattest response I could get. IXL is flatter and louder... The other line is a 6th order spl box and once again IXL wins... Anyone know why and/or what parameters aff…
