Discuss Subwoofers And All Aspects Of Speakers here.

what is the difference between the dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm on the btl's? is it just what the sub can handle, and can be wired down and witch is better the 1 or 2?

trying to figure out which setup would be better. either 4 Planet Audio TQ150DVC 15" dual 4-ohm TORQ subwoofers on an Audioque 2200D in a sealed box with 2 cu ft per sub. or 1 MA Audio MA1800XL 18" dual 4-Ohm subwoofer on an Audioque 2200D in a round port box tuned to 32hz with 5 cu ft for the sub. setup would be in the trunk of a 2nd gen Altima. sound i'm looking for is really loud deep bass, the kind that vibrates the air in your lungs (or as close to that as i can get ). electrical upgrades will be done (big 3, 0 ga, etc). i hope this is enough information for you all to help. thanks.

I have a '17 Challenger I want to add some bass to as I only have the 6-speaker factory Alpine system with no subs. I'm back and forth with what I want to run as far as sub stage and need some advice. The goal is for good SQ while still getting a little SPL. I have a little over 2 cubes max in the trunk, but I'd rather use less than that. I also want a lightweight setup as I'm looking to have a birch enclosure made for it and would want the smallest setup possible that fits my goals. I wanted to try a ported single 8" but can't seem to find any good examples in trunk setups which makes me think it wouldn't be worth it, and just step up to a 10". I have about 900…

I am in the market for another sub again. Going with a single 12 setup ported..can go up to 2.5 cu ft ported tuned low. I might just have a 2.5 cu ft built tuned 30-33hz and drop in one of these subs once I decide which one. I have about 1500-2000 watts on tap at 1 ohm mono. Right now I cant decide what to get next. I see pro and cons for all of these subs...I am thinking I can't go wrong with any of these choices but I want to see if someone can help narrow it down further. Right now I have 2 flatlynes...sounds fantastic!, but I am a basshead and want to go ported and use the full potential of the amp. I have a trunk car so I can only afford to port 1 sub to keep …

Hey guys I was just wondering what you all think about these 2 sets of component speakers, Theyre right around the same price range, ATM im leaning more torwards the DLS's since they have a shallower mounting depth and are a bit cheaper too. Let me know what you all think of them and wut U would choose out of these 2 sets, Im open to suggestions on other comp. sets in the same price range of about $220max. And if U have any links please post them as well. Oh and these will be powered off a USAmps MD42. thanks everyone.

well my solo x's will be here monday, so id like to get started on box plans. my max dimensions are 50"wide,21"tall, and 15deep which if used all that with no port is 7.388 now i know once i add port, and displacment of the sub, it will go down. id like to get atleast 3.0cf for each sub.the more the better lol as for tuning, im not so sure. i like lows so i was thinking around 32Hz?? if anyone has a better suggestion, please let me know.im building 2 seperate boxes so when i sell them, they will be much easier to sell. the recommended ported box for 1 10 is 2.25-6.0cf. as for an amp, i am saving for a audiopipe 3000d (315 shipped w.warrenty) or if i can find a better amp…

I recently read that if you were to have 2 speakers play the same frequency that they will cancel and would be about the same loudness if I were to play a single speaker. I have 2 sets of components in my front and am wondering if they would sound just as loud with a single set? People add more subwoofers and they get louder so I just don't understand why it makes a differnece.

I've heard as a general rule to have at least 12in^2 of port per cubic ft. Is this solely to keep port noise down? Reason I ask is because a box size I've tinkered around with for my next build has 8.5-10in^2, yet in Winisd Pro it shows to only have a port velocity of about 60 ft/s. I've heard anything under 100ft/s is fine. Am I missing something? Facts wrong maybe?

I am so siked first of all! A couple people from REO got me to look into the SSA line and I am very impressed I will be getting 2 of the Xcon 18s and I will be powering them with one Audiopipe AP-3001D. That amp needs a ton of power to put up over 2,000 watts so I plan on getting 2 2400 Kinetiks for the back and maybe a red top under my hood. I drive a 2009 Malibu 4 cylinder soo I'm not quite sure if they even make bigger alternators lol. Hopefully 3 solid batteries will do the trick! Any constructive criticism is welcome Ohh yea and for the build I am walling off my trunk. I still need to have people sick in the back at times so I will probably be putting some type of…

will be buying 2 DCON 12's Dual 4 ohm Subwoofers. looking for a amp in the range of 200$ that will power these properly. will be using a dual champer ported box, each chamber is 1.8 c/f and the sub is recomened 1.75c/f But on the other hand im also very much considering a single 12" ICON with a ported enclosure matching specs. In reguards to excurrsion and making allot of noise, will i be able to afford a amp to get the single icon to outperform the 2 dcons for spending about 200$ on a amp? I drive a cobalt, subs will be going in trunk Thank you very much in advance, for any possible information.

I just picked up an 03 Tahoe. I'm wanting to buy a above average set of components. At this stage vehicle is bone stock. I plan to use only stock locations. Mid around knee to lower knee height. Tweet up in the pillar aiming up towards middle of windshield. Budget is roughly $300 for the pair. Sub stage will be a btl 18 and a saz1500. Will power these components with possibly an older 800.4 fosgate. Looking for suggestions on sets that are out there and any experience anyone has had with these they can share. Prob won't go active, kind of intimidated by it lol.

1st of all, im new to the forum.. so hi everyone Had a demo of a 12" Mag two years back, in canada - the car was ratting at an SPL probably similar to the subs' output, so it wasn't exactly an ideal install and demo... however, i got interested, enough now to spring for one. but i live in switzerland. how do I get one? pls help... me wants MAG bad!! I could offer my car as a demo-car.. :D cheers, Mike "Demo car": it has 2x10" midbass drivers in the doors, Exact MG10 fullrange upper end, (hopefully soon Audax Midrange and Ribbon tweets), an Alto UCS Pro processor, an embedded PC and homebrew USB-DAC for a source... currently all parts are a percentage short of being ins…

  17. Alright... so currently I have a shitty front stage since I was not looking to go "crazy" with the audio... that plan did not stay.. I went from some old school JL audio 10" w3's to a Pioneer Premiere 12" and then to a 12" SSA Icon and now I currently have a 15" SSA Xcon sealed enclosure... so far I love the sound... My front stage consisted of just Alpine 6x9 for a while and then I added some Polk Audio tweets in the dash... Not having alot of options on the EQ side I think I damaged a tweet which is whatever I don't care... I didn't have the right amps to do this setup and that is probably how I did that.. I was using a BA GT2-125 and no separate xover so I know the twe…

  20. I was initially going to run the Peerless SLS's to start out with but since i am limited on area for midrange and they are currently not in the best locations i decided to go with a dome for the off axis response and sealed chamber. That will be either the Dayton RS52, or the MB-Q 95-6814 (2" Ti dome) until i can afford the Dyn MD140 Anyway i have heard a few people say that they don't really play low enough/the SLS won't play WELL high enough, i was looking into the Dayton RS225 8" mids. They seem to be very nice and since i am constantly ordering from parts express, its the easy and cheap solution A member on another forum has a mint set of DLS Ultimate Iridiums for 175…

  22. i mapped out some EQ settings in a new box design. 9 cubic feet with a 32 hz tuning and 128 port area. Fi audio SP4 18 on a ZX2500.1 this is my first time ever looking into any EQ or using win isd to this level. im sure most of you will remember that my goal here is to get a flat responce curve with as few peaks as possible up into the 65hz range for the music i like. am i on the right track here? a gain of 3 db @ 65hz a static gain of 2db across the system a gain of 3db at 32hz a gain of -3.5db at 38hz a gain of 2db @ 50hz xover at 100hz sub sonic at 28hz air velocity is 20m/s impedance does not drop below 3.6ohm while inside of xover frequencies. max VA is 4KW …
