Subwoofers / Speakers

Seems like I read a lot of posts regarding people blowing or ruining their Fi sub for various reasons, causing them to get a re-cone... My question is, are these subs easy to destroy? They seem very durable and underrated, which makes me think the opposite, but after reading on here it seems not to be the case.. I want to get a better idea as to why there are so many cases of Fi subs needing re-cones, and not other subs, like AA or SSA... Any thoughts?

I have a '17 Challenger I want to add some bass to as I only have the 6-speaker factory Alpine system with no subs. I'm back and forth with what I want to run as far as sub stage and need some advice. The goal is for good SQ while still getting a little SPL. I have a little over 2 cubes max in the trunk, but I'd rather use less than that. I also want a lightweight setup as I'm looking to have a birch enclosure made for it and would want the smallest setup possible that fits my goals. I wanted to try a ported single 8" but can't seem to find any good examples in trunk setups which makes me think it wouldn't be worth it, and just step up to a 10". I have about 900…

I just picked up an 03 Tahoe. I'm wanting to buy a above average set of components. At this stage vehicle is bone stock. I plan to use only stock locations. Mid around knee to lower knee height. Tweet up in the pillar aiming up towards middle of windshield. Budget is roughly $300 for the pair. Sub stage will be a btl 18 and a saz1500. Will power these components with possibly an older 800.4 fosgate. Looking for suggestions on sets that are out there and any experience anyone has had with these they can share. Prob won't go active, kind of intimidated by it lol.

Hey guys, A thought has hit me as I look through the forums, and I was wondering if anybody could give me their opinion on this matter. Ok, so why when somebody decides to focus on the "Front stage", do they only focus on the front two doors? I understand that the driver is up front, so maybe that is the primary reason for this. When I look at a install, I would see anywhere from two to eight door speakers but only in the front two doors. I don't understand why isn't it kept to the equal amount of speakers that are in the back two doors, or for cars, the back deck? To me, if I was to put 3 door speakers up front, I would put 3 door speakers in the back as well. I underst…

Finally getting all the pieces together for my build. The only missing piece(s) to the puzzle is the subwoofer(s). I will be attempting to go with a 3-way fully active front stage which will consist of Scanspeak D2004/6020 tweets, Dayton RS75-4 midranges and Peerless 830883 Midbasses powered by either a JL XD600/6 or Sundown sax100.4&125.2 ... I'm going to be getting these comps installed- CTX65CS - Image Dynamics 6.5" Component Speaker System 2.75" mounting depth I currently have these installed SPS-500 - Alpine Type-S 5-1/4" 2-way car speakers 2" mounting depth I'm going to be upgrading to the larger size for the front speakers, from 5 1/4 to 6 1/2. My concern is in regards to speaker mounting depth. The alpine coaxials have a mounting depth of 2", the ID's have a mounting depth of 2.75". Is there a way to make the ID's work? How would I find out the max mounting depth of the speaker ports for my car? Thanks!

Is there anywhere online to order Atomic subwoofers?

I am in the market for another sub again. Going with a single 12 setup ported..can go up to 2.5 cu ft ported tuned low. I might just have a 2.5 cu ft built tuned 30-33hz and drop in one of these subs once I decide which one. I have about 1500-2000 watts on tap at 1 ohm mono. Right now I cant decide what to get next. I see pro and cons for all of these subs...I am thinking I can't go wrong with any of these choices but I want to see if someone can help narrow it down further. alright, so i currently have an 18" nightshade that im getting reconed...i kinda wanna go with a 15 instead to shed some wait off of my car...its slow as shit as it is lol, so im wanting to go a bit smaller. how much output would i lose if i went to a 15. as long as the box is still just as good it shouldn't be a noticable difference right? any help would be great guys. thanx.

I have Scan-Speak Discovery D2608/9130 in mdf rings mounted to my dash and windshield with double sided tape. One of them came off the dash on a hot day. When I picked it up I realized the double magnets aren't glued together anymore. Here are some pics. Can I just clean up the surfaces with some denatured alcohol, apply some CA glue and clamp the magnet back together?

So im deciding on doing 3 10's here soon most likely the sa-10's. Hey guys I was just wondering what you all think about these 2 sets of component speakers, Theyre right around the same price range, ATM im leaning more torwards the DLS's since they have a shallower mounting depth and are a bit cheaper too. Let me know what you all think of them and wut U would choose out of these 2 sets, Im open to suggestions on other comp. sets in the same price range of about $220max. I sold my sa15s for $600 so it's time for something new. I need about 100 or the box so I have 500sih to spend on subs. I'm running an saz2500d what would you guys recommend as in upgrade from the sa 15s? or should I just rebuy the sa15s and profit a bit?

I just Stripped the black powder coating off and im sanding now. Its getting shinny. I just have to raise my sand paper number and them bust out the dremel for the polish and ill clear coat it. it will be nice pics coming asap

My friend is thinking about buying it but he needs permission from his parents (lol).
