Ok well I just received my D2 from Oak244 on ca.com, I just realized he's a member on here too, and wel I need an enclosure design. Itll be powered by a Hifonics BX1205d, I listen to rock and rap just about 50/50, and I would like LSQ leaning towards the SPL side. I was thinking about doing the 1.5 cuft @ 32 hz that is recommend on the SI site but thought I'd ask for other recommendations. BTW will anyone here design a box for me? lol My old box was for a RE SX 15" external dimensions 34w x 25d x 12h tuned to 35 hz. The box was HUGE. I need my trunk so I can relocate my battery since intercooler piping for my boost project will get in the way.

Ok guys my big build (to me) is finally in the works. I have begun ordering and need some advice on my front stage. My car is a 2004 Scion xB. Not a lot of room in the doors as they sit, but I'm prepared to modify the panels to get the sound I want. As of now I'm running a Pioneer DEH-X8600BH head unit (which may change to a double DIN before it's over) so I'm not looking to run active. I just want to get a front stage that actually has some bass to it. Right now without the subs running it sounds like total crap as there's no bass whatsoever to these Polk DB6.5s. Hi guys, I have a very good deal on aDigital Design sub. It's a 9515, very cheap I've never heared any, in a correct box. I don't know how it will sound in a 3 to 3.5 ft3 ported box. That is what I can fit in the "trunk" of my Toyota auris. the Auris is like a little bigger Corolla hatchback 4 doors, with a very small hatch. I still have my 12" BTL n2, but I have a buyer...he's in the starting blocks, waiting to take it from me !!! RE subs have had a really good reputation for sounding great and having a strong threshold for abuse, however there's no talk of them anymore. Did their quality go downhill or is it the raise in price that is causing them to not be as popular as they used to be?

I'm going to be installing my focal ps165 component set into my 03 tahoe. My plans are to use the supplied crossovers. I will be using a baffle and possibly deaden the doors in the near future when time and money allow. I have seen several installs in tahoes where they mount the tweeter right above the mid in the doors. My vehicle has room for that but came factory with tweets in the pillars. Not sure which route to take. Doors or pillars? I have read where putting them with the mid is best? I know this may boil down to personal preference but I don't exactly know what to expect from either.

i am planning on getting a regular cab chevy colorado within the next few weeks and am starting to plan out the sound system. so far i know the h.u, door speakers and tweeters. but am not sure about the sub, amp or box. i have been looking at ssa and sundown audio. i am more into sq than spl and listen to a variety of music anywhere from rap to metal. and i have a budget for the sub, box, and amp of around 600 to 700. space is the number one issue since its a regular cab, i do not care if there is room in the back i just do not want to have to have the seat pulled up to an uncomfortable position.

Whats up guys. I am currently in the market for two solid SQ 12's to run off of the SAE-1200D I have on the way. This will be going in another vehicle of mines. I have never done a dual 12 setup so I figured it was about time to try it out. Guys I know just enough to get into trouble and looking for some advise. I've got 2 Fi btl n2 15's that are going to be sealed off from the trunk with a blow thru in the rear deck. Each sub is going to be ran at 1ohm with a Rockford t1500-bdcp amp. I've got 4 sets of Rockford T3 6.5" components and plan on running one set on each channel of my Rockford t800-4bdcp. My question is this..what freq should I cut the subs off at..where should my components pick up at..and are my components enough? Will they be loud enough? Will they go low enough? Thanks for any help you can offer.

It's a whole lot worse with 3 subs hooked up. Measuring at the amps, I can get a 6ohm or more even fluctuation.

Hey guys, I plan on building a system from scratch when I buy a new vehicle. Im planning on buying a Jeep Grand Cherokee and buying a BC5500d and I will have plenty of space in the rear of the SUV but I cant decide if I want to get 2 12"s sundown x-12s or an 18" SSA Evil. Those subs are just examples, Im not set on any one brand or sub. What do you guys think? 2 12"s or an 18" or something else possibly? Matt

Hollis and I got back from SBN last night (Monday night). We were there from Friday until Monday morning and it was a blast! Sean Belanger won S1 MECA with a 152.X dB score totally whooping everyone else in his class using two of our claw 12's. I'll post more later...gotta go.

I was initially going to run the Peerless SLS's to start out with but since i am limited on area for midrange and they are currently not in the best locations i decided to go with a dome for the off axis response and sealed chamber. That will be either the Dayton RS52, or the MB-Q 95-6814 (2" Ti dome) until i can afford the Dyn MD140 Anyway i have heard a few people say that they don't really play low enough/the SLS won't play WELL high enough, i was looking into the Dayton RS225 8" mids. im looking to upgrade from my previous setup which consisted of 2 AQ sdc2.5 15's and an AQ1200D, basically i want to get louder, but i have the same limited space i had before. the dimensions i have to work with are 47" wide, 15" deep, and 35" high. i will be using an AQ2200D to power this system. i mainly listen to decaf music or other rap/hiphop 90% of the time, other 10% is rock/metal. so a sub that likes to be tuned low is what im going after. my budget is 500-600 bucks tops. im just having a hard time making a decision because i want to make sure this setup will get louder... i dunno if i want 2 15's that can take more power, or a single 18, or a IA DP 21, or 4 12's.…

I've never been a big basshead, so I'm downsizing my idmax down to a pair of 8's. looking to spend about whatever I can sell my idmax for, so I'd say about 200ish, maybe a little more. mounting depth can't be too deep, lets just say 6" tops. looking for suggestions for a sub n amp set up for $500-700. got a '01 expedition.3rd row removed. i've only had a single 15 before so that's what i been considering. listen to rap/hip hop only. going for spl not sq. want the biggest bang on my budget. some have told me to consider a 12 in place of the 15, but i want to make sure i can still get low and loud. thanks for any help.

I have set a budget for $150 per sub...... I am really wanting at least 12's. And I need some input on which subs within this price range will have the best bang the buck. I was looking at the Alpine SWR-1222D as a possible candidate. But that was purely just a suggestion for myself. I just recently got my 97 Buick Lesabre and want to do a budget build in it. What would be some good ones for me to consider? The trunk dimensions are roughly 34w 14h 32d for the box build. I'm looking to get more spl than sq right now I will upgrade the highs and mids at all later date just want to get it going.
