Subwoofers / Speakers

so i have been researching subwoofers for a few weeks know and have finally narrowed it down to ehiter the fosgate power 1 series 12" or the fi ssd 12" both are priced fairly. i really would like other peoples opion on these two subs thanks. also which one has a smaller mounting depth that is one of my main factors of choosing.

I just ordered my zcon 12s. I am really happy and can't wait to have them at my door. I'm going to tune around 30hz off of 2 nendo bc2000s. I'm ready for a serious ground pounder. Thanks SSA!

Soon I will be getting an SUV, and I need some ideas. I want some loud bass thats impressive but not like competition grade i guess. My idea for a setup is Enclosure: http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/ported-dual-12-subwoofer-enclosure.html Amp: my current amp, 1700 rms at 1ohm. Subs: maybe 2 SA-12s wired to 1ohm. I was wondering if maybe 2 Gcons or Icons would be better in that box, or maybe two sealed SA-15s in a different box. Or one sick 18 sealed, just help me out here. Im trying to save space and dont want a huge box. Just send me some ideas please. I just want the most bass for my space, and money.

ok so im looking at getting a bigger 4channel for my my cdt comps and my 6x9's and my question was how much do you guys think i should put on the cdt's??? I have the cdt ef-61fg's by the way so if anyone could help me out on this it would be great cause i only have a small older alpine 40x4 on everything right now and i know my cdt comps can get alot louder and more clean.O and another thing is that i wanna have ALL speakers amped in my car cause i dont wanna bridge the amp or run a 2channel to the fronts and run the 6x9's on HU power so thats why im lookin for the bigger 4channel. So, right now I am running a 2011 RF Punch P2 12" on a RF Prime R500.1 (500 watts @ 2 ohms). This is in a 1.72 cuft enclosure tuned to 31.8 Hz via 4" aero. I have the itch to upgrade. I understand that almost anything is an upgrade haha, but I was curious if the SSA GCON 12" would be a substantial difference in volume, and SQ? I would put this in a 3 cuft box tuned to 28Hz via the 4" aero. My current setup is in a 98 grand cherokee, but it will soon be put in the trunk of either a civic or corolla. Hey everyone, this post/question is mainly directed toward the big guy. I am wondering which SSA sub you would recommend to me given these limits/stipulations: 2014 Honda Civic Sedan 1500 Watts on tap (Crescendo Symphony 1500) LIMITED SPACE... I am only looking to build and install an enclosure no larger than 1.5 net cubic feet. That being said, I have been considering either a 12" ICON sealed. A 12" XCON sealed (XCON being the most I can afford). Or, one of those two in the 10" variety, ported. This is for a daily driver, and I will need as much trunk space I can get, but still get loud and sound good. What is your input? Anyone else, feel free to chime in…

I have a Cerwin Vega Vmax 12" and am looking to build a ported box for it, but cannot find the specs! Anyone know of the specs and/or tune it to? It is the newest model, hard to find on the web. All black cone with Red Lettering, not the silver model. Thanks for any help at all!

Im wanting to get a two 15" setup. Either Fi Q or Fi BL. Its gonna be an everyday setup. I just dont know which to get. Either one, I will get will be fully loaded and then the amp to go with it. It's going in a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer LT. And I know I'll have to upgrade all my electrical, but I don't know hardly anything about car audio so any help will be useful

I was at a car show for lexus vehicles today. I had a chance to listen to a members 1 jl w7 13 on a jl amp, i thi k it was a 1000/1. any way i just wanted to say that my 2 xcons blew away that w7 by far! of course my xcons were in a properly tuned and well built encloseure powered by a mmats 3000.5. i showed off the excons and once again i amazed everyone when they saw that it was only 2 10's doing all that damage. People were like what the f..k? Two 10's ? NO WAY! and im like, uhh hell ya it is, and opened the trunk and showed them off. I will never sell these bad boys, i love them soo much.

Today I picked up my 15" MAG and found it to be in excellent condition. Bought it off CA for $200!! Anyway for the next couple weeks I'll put it in a sealed box until I get the chance to talk to Woodlawn Cabnitry (Phil Salisbury) in person about fitting a ported box in my trunk. SI's site suggests 2.3-3 cuft sealed. I couldn't find driver displacement on SI's site so I'm guessing its around .19 (using Fi Q's displacement, fair assumption?). here i go with my first post and a (very likely) stupid question. I want to build a box, or augment my current box(2x10") to house a 12" & 10" sub so as to realize the advantages of both. box is separated into two equal, sealed sections. lets assume i can accommodate the volume requirements of the 12 accurately enough. can I just wire them separately on each channel of my amp and let'er rip? or am I missing something?

Running off 500wattsx2 bridged @ 4ohms rear channels of a crescendo1000c4. All stock electrical system 1999 volkswagen passat (I might get the big 3 upgrade if necessary). Would these subs have trouble reaching their potentional with only 500 watts split between them?

I`m ashamed to show it. But it is loud!!! Yes that`s an Orion 5000d running @ a 1ohm load to those two 12" Baby Mags. Both 12" in sealed boxes. SQ? Ability to sound good with 1200w for two drivers. Both subs seem awesome to me, I have been looking at adire because of the xbl tech. Brahma is a little more $. ahh I wish I could listen to them myself. Compare some of these side by side.

I went with direct leads because the push terminals broke off & it was dangling! So I took both off. This XCon is the first generation, it is just under 5 years old. It was reconed before about 2 years ago, and just started using it. it was a bad recone job lucky I ordered 2 recone kits, Dustcap came lose first day out & it was flapping. spider came completely off later. I wanted the job done right, So I did it myself. I think I did it right. I'm proud to say I am no longer a Recone Virgin.

I'm assuming this is the sound of the XCON bottoming out? I had little power on the sub before and just got a new Crescendo amp (1500.1) and decided to see what the excursion looked liked and noticed it started making a noise that sounded like it was hitting the backplate. Visually I guess I was thinking the XCON was going to move a little more before bottoming out. The thing still moves quite a bit. Just thought I would see what you all thought. I only did this for the second time in the video, and won't be doing it again.

Sucks that Mach5Audio is leaving the forum. Im personally a little bummed that their products wont be so readily available and discussed on these forums. I am in the middle of an install using their speakers and think highly of them so far. Ive already sent an email to the addy from the notice thread but thought Id talk about it here as well. Just wondering if the MLI65s will still be available? Or any of the other products that were listed? Id love to use some in another install and always planned on buying them here.

finally ported the 12" magnum 2 cubes to 30hz. im loving it, it gets nasty loud and sounds even better i think than sealed. I have it running off the viper d1200.1. So I just finished up my box today, upon installing the subs in the box I slipped with the drill and punctured the surround. It's a decent sized slit, maybe 3/4 to an inch; it runs diagonal. The subs are Fi SSDs with foam surrounds. I've been searching google for a bit now for the best advesive to use and keep seeing amazing goop and rtv silicone being suggested. Which is better? Would some type of epoxy work? And should I put a piece of fabric or duct tape on the back the slit, with whichever adhesive/ sealer?
