Subwoofers / Speakers

I am thinking about getting an AA Mayhem 15 or an AA Havoc 18. I am kinda leaning towards the Havoc but idk if my amp will be too powerful for it. Hifonics BRZ2400.1D 2400W at 1 ohm; 1700W at 2 ohms. Will either of these be too much power for the sub? If either of these numbers are good for the havoc for daily use, I think I will get the Havoc. But, if not, Mayhem it is.

Hey guys just had a quick question Im going to be doing a build for my 73 vw. Im thinking of doing 1 zcon 18 for now running off a saz-2500d in a 6 cub box. I have a 200 amp alt two batteries, the big 3 and all odd gage wiring. What are your though on this build should the box be bigger smaller and what should I tune the box for daily playing I alos want to compete so whats a good tune for spl for this sub. Thanks

Hey, everyone. Im looking into getting either AA Mayhem 15 d2 or AA Havoc 18 d2 or d1 depending on how much power it can take daily. Amp is Hifonics BRZ2400.1D and I read that the Havocs have a power handling of 1250W rms. I wanna know if I can power the Havoc with the full 2400W or if I would need to wire to 2ohm for 1700W. Also, would either of these numbers be too much power for daily use? The car it is going in is a pontiac vibe and has about 24cuft of cargo area for the box so I dont think Ill have problems fitting the box in the car. I used to have a single 10 DCON sealed with about .7 ft^3 of airspace and loved it, just wanted a tad more output. I figured the easiest way would be to put 2 10's in a sealed box. The problem is I'm not sure if I have optimal room for it. I've got a 08 Passat that I want to keep the spare tire available which restricts my area for the box to against seats where the trunk curves in. Not sure if this would give me optimal enclosure for 2 DCONs. My next thought would be to put 2 8" subs instead. The best 8 inch subs I've seen are the Sundown SA-8. I have narrowed my search to a 12 sub to the either a single FI SSD or a Sundown SA 12. I plan on using a ZX 1000 at a 2ohm load in the back of a suburban. if you were in my shoes and needed a 12 sub to run in a sealed inclosure and had about 300.00 to spend on a sub which would you chose and why. I am lookin to replace my current single Diamond D3 10 with a single or possibly two 12's but dont want to buy run of the mill subs (ie JL Rockford Alpine) and would like to explore other options. I have two 18'' zcons now and i have the stetsom 14k.... I have the astro van so the room is there but do i really NEED two more 18's? I know I WANT two more 18's but do I need to spend the money......

So, iv finally got my subwoofer enclosure finished, and set up in my trunk. After listening to it for a while it was surprisingly accurate, id say even more accurate than my Type X's which are actually supposed to be SQ drivers. Overall super impressed, and obviously it gets nice and loud.

I need help guys. So I bought 2 Fi BL's a couple of months ago and I've gone through 2 hifonics brutus amps. I am currently waiting on a sundown saz3500 that I just ordered. The problem I'm having is the speakers are .7 ohms per coil. How should I wire them to the amp. I dont want to blow another amp. GUYS I am in need of some help please.

Just curious if anyone has experience wit the new zcon subs yet. Was thinking of running around 4k on an 18 if they can take it daily, or if 3k would me more like it.

I have 2 Kickers Dual voice coil 2ohm coming tomorrow. I see the diagram in 12volt on how to connect them at 2ohm. However, the box they are going in has separate chambers. Which 6.5" speakers put out the best all around sound from 150w max to each speaker. I'll probably only be using two speakers in pvc wakeboard style enclosures. It would be nice to have a little bass as well as decent highs and mids.

I am looking to replace my 2 12 kicker cvrs.I have narrowed it down to the dcons and the icon.I have 700 watts on tap from a bbl gto 700.1. I can't decide on a single 15 inch icon or two 12 inch dcons.which would get louder and still sound good

I'm just looking to hear what other people's preferences are about full range / component speakers. My system is getting installed next week and after MAJOR hassles trying to get Memphis to send the right speakers and amps I'm going with all Infinity (a mix of components, full ranges, and an amp. With 2 15" LIs and cadence amp for bass). I've had Infinity speakers before and liked them quite well for the price, but I hear lots of people say they are too loud on the highs and have no midbass (with a definition of midbass being below 100hz). To me full range speakers should not go below 100hz, and in fact I've often put in bass blockers at the 100hz level. I think a good …

So yesterday I was coming back from college and on the way I was blasting my music like everyday. 10 mins before I got home, I noticed there was no lows No burning smell at all. Which was weird... Today I checked and the subwoofer is not playing. I checked the speaker wire connections, nothing out of place. So I decided to use my DMM and read the coils, since I pushed the cone and it does not look or feel blown at all. I used my DMM and both coils give me no reading. 0.L on the DMM. I checked the coils and nothing seems burned, broken, out of place or moved. I have no idea what could have happened to the sub. Any ideas?

But what subs should I look at? Ill be running 2 Mmats 2000.1d's . Supposedly rated at 2000@1ohm rms. I know the slightly older d2000.1s were rated at 1500. I dunno. Its a 1995 z28 . My son wants to do an spl car next year. I have no issues losing my cargo area or back seat.

so i got a buddy that im trying to help out here, well he got a sa10 in a ported box and a hifonics 1200 watt amp and its loud and sounds good but when the volume goes up the sub sounds like it misses a beat but still plays but misses beats, something like booom booom booom ----- booom booom booom booom -------------booom and so on idk it is any help

Ive Had Some Kicker 15's For A While And Im Ready To Kick The Hell Out Of Them I Was Just Wanting An Opinion On Which Would Be Better For The Money I Am Upgrading My Amp Into A Planet Audio BB 2400 and all eletrical work is in the process as i type but i was just wondering which one is Bigger Better And BADDER!!!

Alright fellas, I just threw in the order for a dual 2 ohm death penalty!!!! It will be in my Ext cab Sierra in 9cubes at 30 hz with 151 inches of port area, what do y'all think? Is this a good box layout? Also it will be run off of 2 crescendo bc2000d's at 2 ohms then for shows .5 a piece strapped! Don't worry the electrical will be present when I throw them in.

I've made a few threads and I can't get a straight answer. WHICH ONE SA 12s 350 shipped VVS 12s 320 shipped LI 12s 370 shipped What im hearing is they're all equal. Im thinking the vvx since they're the cheapest. The amp will be a sundwowm 1200d. Im looking for heavy lows that shake the whole car. Sq doesn't really matter to me. More of an spl sound. I was set on buying some SA12s and a sundown 1200d, until I saw Lethal injections on sale here for 151 each. Which ones are better, SA12 or LI12??? I like low end bass on rap songs. I built a box for the SA12s, would the LI12s fit in 3.2ft at 30hz? I'm terrible with decision making when it comes to buying something!

Alright, well i told a friend that i would help him out with getting some subs in his car. He really isnt into getting loud, he just wants a little extra. So i told him like a smaller sized sub, like an 8" or 10" would be good. He doesnt want to spend too much on this setup so i was wondering if you guys could help me out with some subwoofers that might be a good choice. Probably close to around $200. Ill buy used if i need to, just need some help on what some good options would be.
