Thought I’d share a few pics of the DCON’s I was originally running. The original subs we used in the Traverse after I got the rest of the system installed. They were originally ran on a Zapco Z-1KD but after a fateful incident with an open sunroof during a rain storm it had to be replaced. I had an Arc Audio XDi 2000 sitting in the closet and the only amp I had that remotely fit in the amp rack. The DCON’s were dual 4 ohm and wired to 1 ohm on the Zapco for a very reasonable 1,000 watts to the pair of 400wrms rated subs. 2 Fi BL15, 2 Fi Q15, 2 RE SXX15, 2 SSA ICON15. which subs will be best over all in a mid size suv?

i was wondering what guage wire i have to use on a Fi BL 12" subwoofer to wire it down... im sure there is a technical name for this but all i know to call it is wireing it down to 1 ohm... so the wire i will be using inside of the enclosure to run it to the terminal for power and what guage i will be running to wire off the speaker to 1 ohm.... does it really matter? i have i think 14 guage "speaker wire" maybe it mean that i can use it for everything wired to the speaker but i dont know for sure... any clearing up of this would help a lot... thanks in advance! i will be running a 1600 watt amp BTW

I'm buying a pair of FI N3's and can't find any info on them as far as enclosure size or any specs in general. Can't search since it's 4 letter minimum search so any info on them will be greatly appreciated. I'm undecided on wether they will be built into 15's or 18's, depending on how much box volume they require. Thanks guys

Just kidding. That's from one of my favorite movies. My Magnum finally lives. Got it all hooked up today. Just in time to get delayed at an airport on my way to Florida. Anywho, now it's on to the next phase. My doors and my front stage. So far it sounds pretty good. I haven't tweeked anything and all I have inside the car is a couple of POS stock speakers. I can feel the bass and see my mirror move more than I can hear it. I guess that is good. Anyway, after all this time I can finally say thanks Nick. It was definitely worth the wait. Well today my little brother and my friend wants to help me with my new build, which is my third. Now I have a couple questions for you guys. I know every install is different. But is there anything other than sundown lol? I'm not bashing them but I want something different. I want to go the ground pounder route, I don't want a wall and trying to keep the subs under $1100 if possible. I have 11 cubes in the back seat area of my crew cab truck but I don't have to use it all. But the subs I can't seem to get out my head is the sundown x's. As far as power...5500 watts is the most I want to run

would any suggest a certain daily driver subwoofer that has a good clean sound not boomy or dirty to fight the battle of acoustics in my convertible? thanks

i've been running my magnum with about 800w for the last couple weeks, and its just dying for more power. i am having a new box designed, and i was thinking of buying a 1500bd. now obviously i dont wanna wire the sub to 4ohm, as i will have the same power as now, but i wanna wire it to 1ohm, so im looking at 1600w rms+ (assuming the amp is fine at 1ohm, which i've heard it should be) i will probably have it scoped and setup the gains so it makes around 1.5k which i think is reasonable for a daily drive what i wanna know is what is the maximum i can give it for a daily drive? i probably wont risk anything over 1.5k, but is anyone running more than that?? thanks in advance

They seem great. I still can't believe Mark's prices. You would never guess that they're $36 speakers by looking at them. They even came with grills and hex screws. I'll be installing them tonight. I'm about to start a wall build in my 2000 plymouth neon with 2-18" zcons. They will have about 14cu net for the pair and I plan to tune low 30s. My question is how much port do these guys like? Normally I would use 14-16sq per cu but I've never used ssa before so I thought I'd ask and see if anyone knows what these subs like. Thanks for any help.

Both 12" in sealed boxes. SQ? Ability to sound good with 1200w for two drivers. Both subs seem awesome to me, I have been looking at adire because of the xbl tech. Brahma is a little more $. ahh I wish I could listen to them myself. Compare some of these side by side.

I've decided to finally install my RE 6.5's after having them for about a year. I have been waiting to take some time off of work, but I haven't since last June so I took two whole weeks off . I tried two different methods for laying the molds. I first tried using painters tape to tape off the whole area for the drivers kick, when removing the mold taking off the tape seemed to be a pain and took forever to get off, not to mention the fact that all the tack on the tape came off on my hands and is still there 4 hours later. I'm having trouble deciding if i want one stroker pro 12, or if i want one Fi BTL 15. either one would be going into a Jeep Cherokee. Which do you think would be louder?

Just when I think I found a sub...people throw new subs in my face. I'm considering the Mag D2, RL-P, and A/D/S 312rs/4. I know they're all great subs. But which would be best for me? SQ matters a lot to me...but I'm a basshead and want to be able to feel the bass pounding in my lungs when I want. Whenever I look at a sub I make sure it can hit atleast 20Hz if not 16 Hz. I almost hesitate in asking this....... as I realise that this is not really what Mach5 seems to be about (and to be honest neither am I). But....... I got my recone/basket in today and i cut my old sub up and was about to put the new one together when i realized that it didn't come with a gasket. will running it without the gasket for a few days hurt the woofer in any way?

Hello guys, I currently run a DD 9515 in a 3.8 ft" box tuned to 35 Hz with a 6.5" round pvc pipe. The port has a little flared on both ends. My amplifier is Incriminator 2.0. I have 2 AGM batteries and the big3 is done. No voltage problems. I am used to xcons, icon, and Fi btl n2. And I loved them all ! The btl n2 was my favorite : more punch than the xcon and still sounded good. I am looking at the SSA Zcon and at the Fi sp4. But I am open to suggestions. I found the DD to be brutal, it can play all the notes I want but it's "dry", not round enough. I don't know how to explain it. It is loud and can get low in this box. What would you suggest ? I have 2 MJM 18s and they are in a 12 cube 32 hz box oriented like this okay im wondering if it will help at all like this I didnt account for the Double baffle and the 3/4 sheet under the box to get it off my wires, and make it easy to move when i need to. its about 3-4" away from the roof, and i swear all the sounds going outta the car LOL, So will that help or hurt me BTW its in this

ok i need some help decideing between my next setup. i allready have a RE12.1 amp rated at 1200wrms at 1ohm but i've seen bench tests showing close to 1500wrms, i have a 99 grand am and would like to keep the box around 3.5cf net. now my options either 2 10's ported 1 12 ported or 2 12's sealed. in all honesty i would love 2 12 mags sealed but as nick informed me their only come in dvc2 which won't work with my amp, well they will work but i dont think their output will meet my needs. so now that leaves me looking. so far im looking into ssa icons, audioque 2.5, aa arsenal, and re se for dual sub setup and AA havoc, audioque hdc, nightshade, and re sx for single sub setup…
