Hey Guys I'md so exited I will be picking up my IP G37s 6mt on Wednesday and the first mod I want to do is add an amplified sub enclosure to add some bass to the Bose system. I am looking for clean sound with a good amount of kick for a budget while I save up for my full audio system upgrade. I have listed my 2 choices below with links any advice would be great. Rockford Fosgate R300-10 Rockford Fosgate R300-10 500W JL Audio Subwoofer + Realm Amplifier Bass Bundle 500W JL Audio 12" WX Sub + Realm A200.2 Amp + Kit + Subwoofer Box

Alright guys I have a problem, my Bravox component set's left side tweeter isn't working. Before I took the door apart I switched the RCA's from left to right and the tweeter was still inoperable. Whenever I would hit a bump the tweeter would crackle and turn on then turn off. The tweeter was confirmed working On low power when i put the tweeter on the amp and it worked perfectly. I'm not sure what went wrong with the X-over seeing how I JUST installed and it had been sitting in my closet since i bought them and it hasn't been exposed to any moisture what-so-ever. I purchased them new from the SSA store some time ago.

Hi, people. Here I'll be posting my build log of a box I am working on. This is going to be my first properly done box. First time using plywood, wood glue, clamps and any sort of design and calculations. Last one was done with particle board, silicone and screws. Let's talk about the box. It is going to be 1.74 cub ft for a 12" SA-12 , the used material is poplar plywood, kerfed port tuned to 32hz, flushed driver, painted port and around the driver in white, wrapped in carpet, bolt terminals. The design was done by Bromo and excellent is the least I can say about it. He did all I asked about the box in a pretty fast time considering it is not an easy job. He is the man!…

This was posted on a different forum and I'd like some input from some of brainiacs on this forum. It seemed to be a simple answer at first, but became more complicated the more I thought about it. I don't know if more information is needed to answer this or not. Here's the proposed question as well as a link to the thread. http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/general-car-audio-discussion-no-question-dumb/110780-noobish-question-but-ive-never-heard-answered-fully-sealed-vs-ib-output.html

I'm considering getting the HAT Imagine 6.5 component set. I want to run them actively (using a deh860mp) but it appears the crossover is built on the midrange. I know i can simply bypass the connection to the crossover for the tweets but what about the mids?

I have enough airspace to properly port either (2) 12"s or (1) 18" subwoofer. I would like to spend 900 or less on just the subwoofer(s). What would you choose? It will be ran on a sundown 3500D.

Friend of mine gave me 2 locked up 9515's to pay off a $250 debt he owed me. I ordered 2 recone kits as my friend says he could rebuild them. I gave them to hit, he reconed them, and they play. Well, one speaker makes a crackling noise at low volumes through it's whole range. At low volumes I can only hear it on very low notes and at higher notes. Did he do a poor job at reconing it? Is it something I did? Are the magnets misaligned? The other speaker is barely audible, I'm thinking that one might be a wiring issue. Any other info needed, just let me know.

I thought about painting the basket on my subwoofer. I wonder would preventing the paint to get through the vent windows on the bottom of the basket be a issue when painting the basket of a speaker that is still working. I figured i ask before i try and if it would be bad i would just paint the basket on the avalanche i need to recone.

Do you guys considered the new 2011 RF P2D4 15" an overall better sub than the RE SRX 15" sub? The SRX has more linear excursion 18mm vs 12. I cannot find the Mms of either sub. The Bl of the SRX is 14 vs unknow. SPL is 87db for the SRX vs 86db. The Sd is 810 vs 894. My concern is that a sub with that much Xmax(RE) could sound louder than a sub with just 12mm but with almost 900 of Sd?? Also, the cone material of the subs: RE is Kraft pulp and the RF is Kevlar. If Kevlar is a bullet proof material is going to be a lil heavy than Kraft pulp, right? Thas why the RF Xmax is only 12mm?? It seems to me that the RF guys put a lot of technology in their new subs. The RE seems to…

I have a sa8 in a 1.0cubic ft Ported box around 33-34hz the sub is 400 rms and I have a planet audio Tq1601d monoblock amp. I want to run it at 2 ohm but thats pushing 800rms. Do you guys think the sub can handle that power? I mean, gains down and careful tuning on my headunit the sub shouldn't be in danger right? At 4 ohms the amp pushes 500rms.

So im looking to get a new system and i have been doing some research on FI car audio. Recently though i have seen a lot of people talking about the sundown sa 8s and ive watched some videos and i really like them. so my question is, what would be better for a daily driver who wants to get loud. 2 15" fi btl n2s on around 3000 watts or so or 4 sundown sa 8s on around 2000-2500 watts.

I aquired the subwoofer mentioned above. It has a built in 5.1 amplifier, and a 10" sub. My question is, since i do not have the remote for it, how do I switch channels to have it play off the input from my computer? (rca) it has 6 channel inputs, l/c/r/s/rl/rr and it has two aux stereo inputs. But, i don't know how to turn it to the correct channel. Thanks for any input. I do know a bit about circuitry; Moving a few wires wouldnt be an issue.

ok. as most of u know i have my 1 12" orion hcca in a nice custom ported box. and i love it. BUT my 1 12 doesnt sound like the good ol way 15's sound. and we all know how 15's sound. low and powerful. latley, i have been eyeballing the sundown audio SA 15's. i would do 2 on 1800 watts and possibly build a wall in my ranger for them. i havent completly decided. what do u all think???? should i stick with my 1 12, or go for the 2 15's???? i have a feeling that my 1 12 will be louder but it dont have the hard hitting that 2 15's would. WHAT TO DOOO

Hey guys, we recently purchased '11 Toyota Venza with stock stereo and I'm pretty dissapointed with the audio system in a $40k car, whether the stock or the upgraded JBL package system, real disapointment. I want to upgrade the stock speakers only, as this is mainly my fiance's car to work and our family car for trips. I already did my Scion last year with Sundown amps, ID speakers, knukonceptz, secondskin, I went from simple upgrade to $3k built So one car is enough or I'm gonna get serious beating from my lady Anyway I'm looking to upgrade the stock speakers, we listen to everything from techno to rock, I like warm sounds, no harsh sounding speakers, something laid back…

My 15" Mmats p2.0 is making a wierd noise from the dust cap. I don't even know how to described, but when I push down a little bit, at low volumes of course, the noise goes away. I let it go, and the noise came back. Any input?
