I have 500 watts @2 ohm for power. A prefab box that's 1.8 cu ft tuned at 31hz slot ported. I listen to all differnt kind of music. I would like the best sq and if it gets loud that's good too. So which 12" should I go with with those specs.

My name is Erskine and I have a very strong working interest in Bass Box Designs, anyway I have just been given two nice new Magnum D2's which I shall be putting into one of my tried and tested Three Chamber Internally Ported Reflex Boxes. As the D2's are two ohm per coil, have previous owners got a preference for the wiring options. Both coils in series or parallel and then both speakers in either series or parallel. Hi guys I'm getting ready to do my first full system build and I'm looking to be clean and loud.My question is would I be able to run 2 ssa gcons safely off a crescendo bc 3500d or should I just go ahead and buy the icons?

Going to be running either four 18 fi bl or 15 inch. Was looking into crescendo PWX 6.5 and their super tweeter. but also want to know what some other options are out there. WIll be running in a 4 door tahoe 2004 z71, so standard would be four 6.5s in the doors and two tweeters up on the pillar. any advice as to other companies to research would be appreciated.

Have a 12" GCON in a sealed box. It sounds great but I am wanting more and I know the sub will give it to me if I can put it in the right enclosure. I used the ICON enclosure design for the sealed box it is in now, would the ICON ported design work well for the GCON as well? It falls into the optimal range, 2.5f^3 tuned to 33hz. It is a 2 ohm sub with 500 watts powering it in the trunk of a '96 accord. I have about 32" x 20" x 18" to work with. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for a ported box design that will work well with the GCON?

just wanna know, im using no subsonic and the box is currently tuned to 30hz(until the new bandpass box is built) and with about 1k+ it seems ok, i've never had the guts to turn it up too high though, theres about 1.5kw+ on tap ps. is it true that they are run in with 2.5k in free air before they leave the factory?

Any recomendations on a highly efficient 6.5" comp set, in the sub $150 range? My car has a factory Pioneer touch screen nav that I dont want to mess with, so just running off stock power. The factory tweeters suck, the door speakers are ok with decent mid bass, but cant hold up to highway speeds with the windows down. Was going to do LOC to amp and what not, but after 5k miles the factory system died. So I dont want to have a bunch of spliced wires back there during warranty period incase it happens again. I have a couple sets of CCX65s, but they really seem to want to be amped. Want something that will be half way decent on the stock ~20w or so. I could also just keep u…

Hey all, Im trying to decide what I want to do for my summer sub setup. It will be going in a 1998 Acura 3.5RL, trunk system with about 4ft.^3 after displacement. I will be using around 3500 watts for either setup and dont plan on more power (not looking for number really but that would be nice). Im looking for more of a daily ground pounder with a great low end response that can be brutal when I turn it up. So I am starting a new build and really cant make up my mind on the subs. Its not as much a "which sub problem" as much as it is the enclosure, I dont have experience with either so that is why Im asking for advice. Please keep in mind I have a 2003 maxima. So the dp would have to be sub up port forward with the rest of the trunk space walled off. While the 12's can be sub and port forward with the trunk walled off. My goal is spl, and I have the electrical to back either design. I know cone area is usually a good thing to go by for spl, but I really dont know how much of a difference the enclosures will make to spl or sq. Also keep in mind my current set up is 3 10'…

I am looking into getting a new set of components and was wondering what all of you guys like. I am currently trying to decide between edi 6500's, jl XR's and diamond hex s600s, but Im up for any other suggestions. I have a budget of about 450 for speakers and an amp to power them. BTW, I prefer more of the smooth sound of a soft dome tweeter, but when i heard the aluminum dome jl I actually didnt mind it all. Thanks in advance. Eric

(2x) Quad L5 Kickers in a 24cu.ft @ 18Hz, For Stage use. Could use L7 or Solo X! Oh yeah, No SoloX in 15" size. But for the L5 with 3,000w@2-ohm x2 with Peavey IPR 6000. Talking weight here so will be rolling Quad Subs. Let me know whats on your mind good or bad.

Hi, I have a Kenwood amp KAC-9104d. According the manual it max's 1800W 1 ohms >900W 2 ohms 900 W 4 ohms 500 w I want new subwoofer's since I found out the ones best buy recommended are too weak for my amp, and after hearing kicker is a pretty weak brand. I'm not sure what type of box I want yet, all I know is I want great sound quality and some good SPL would be nice too. Any recommendations are much appreciated. p.s. I listen to lots of rap/borderline rock

I know this subject has been hit several times, I'm looking to do a three way front stage in my wife's altima. I was thinking of doing the Dynaudio Esotec 342 (yes I know that's pretty pricy). I like the configuration of the setup though. 7" woofer 3" midrange and (big) 1" tweet. This will not probably happen for a few months, but I'm doing some research now to know what I'm getting into. Is there anything else out there that may be in the same ball park as the Dynaudio or better for the price. I would greatly appreciate the advice from some of you expierianced SQ guys. Thanks. After hearing many good things about eD on certain forums (cough ICIX) I finally broke down and ordered a 13Ov.2...luckily I caught one during the $70 promotion, so I definitely didn't pay full price. It arrived today (still waiting on the sealed 1.25cu box) and I decided to look into the company some more...came across this forum after looking at some ascendant audio products-lets just say that I know why you guys hold a grudge against eD now. I haven't listened to the sub yet, but I'm sure it'll be a HUGE improvement over the generic 10" that's in my car right now...are these things really that bad? As far as I can tell most people are mentioning 300-400watts for the Dcons which is fine for my current amplifier setup. Question is, if I upgrade to a JL 500/1 would it be overkill for the Dcon? I know seeing the full 500watts is probably not going to happen, but I would like to know if the Dcon can handle 500watts daily. Like 4hrs a daily 5 days a week. Also starting looking at the Mach5 IXL subwoofers since I see that as a similar recommendation when people are mentioning the Dcons. Any experince with either subwoofer would be great. I'm looking to upgrade my speaker system. For the front stage I'm getting the Rockford fosgate 6.5" t1 series component speakers and powering them about 100 rms to each side. For the rear stage I would like to run two sets of coaxials (cone area ftw) I'm thinking the Rockford fosgate p1 series coaxials. But idk which would be better, 6.5's or 6x9's They'd be right beside each other along my side panels in the backseat (yes some modifications will be done) and I'd run a set per channel because they are 40-50rms each so one set is around 100rms. Im only going to be able to push 600w or so. I have an AA Havoc 12 here, and was wondering if it would be better to get a new 600w sub like the VVX, or just way underpower the Havoc. Im going to have to build or get a new box as well, and Skar has the VVX + box combo deal. Trying to get down to about 1.75cu, which would really lower the output of the Havoc as well. Im trying to get as loud as I can with 600w while still retaining sound quality and being able to dig low. So which would be louder and/or sound better out of 1.75-2cu, around 30hz with 600w?
