Subwoofers / Speakers

My subs chirp when my car is started but not when it is off but the head unit is on and i cannot figure out what it is. I checked the ground and that is good. Also, my power is good. Any ideas what it might be?

Ok putting two 10’s in a ported box subs and port are on same side of the box . Car is a hatchback Scion tC . What would be the best way to face the box?

My first subs that i owned were Rockford Fosgate p2's, i had them running with a Rockford Fosgate amp as well. I just ordered some Memphis MSYNC8 comp. and I was wonder how much power would you recommend on these ran active and what crossover points do you recommend? Which is better for these, passive or active? Coaxial or separate? If you own or heard them, how do you like them? Thanks.

Hey everybody im trying to decide what to upgrade to. The above listed subs are what im considering, I listen to mostly bass heavy music like dubstep, and swisha house or any other kind of screwed music. I plan on putting the new sub in a slot ported box not 100 on the tuning just yet the sub will have to be dual 4ohm and im going to be powering it with a R E Audio DTS-1500.1 which is rated at 700x1 at 2ohms. Everybody just let me know what u think?? P.S the sub will be in a 91 civic hatch and will be a 12 thanks all in advance D.

I just installed the ctx65cs component set running of an old Memphis amp. They are seeing 55rms and I am not happy with the sound. Tweeters sound muddy whenever the bass hits, and the mids are severely lacking. I've tried everything on the amps adjustments and every level position for the tweeters, -3, 0, +3. The only way they can sound good is with the gain turned down to where they can't keep up with my subwoofer. Before, I ran infinity reference 6x8s and they had more bass, clearer highs, kept up with the subwoofer, and sounded much better than these. And they were running off stock head unit power. I found a bargain on CL locally for an American bass xd 12" in a custom 2ft^3 box tuned to 33hz. Are these subs any good?

Im running a Sound Stream Rubicon 1600d amp and I very recently (7hrs ago) ordered a single 15" Icon to run in a ported midgate Avalanche enclosure that I will soon be having built. Im second guessing myself because I now feel like the single Icon wont provide enough SPL. Im thinking about canceling for 2 Gcon 12s. Ive never personally heard either sub besides from watching youtube vid and forum customer reviews. I'm a 60/40 sq/spl but from time to time I like get my breath taken away. So I have installed a set of Sundown-cs6.5 and running off a ppi 900.4 in my car and have found that the tweeters are almost too harsh. From what I have read this is a characteristic of this style. I have made adjustments to my current amplifier and have not found a way to help with this. Looking for advice on helping me tune these in. Or if there are other options some help in a direction it would be appreciated. very new to this i have just been tuning with my ear. I also understand everyone hears differently before M5 starts bashing me for this.

HellO all . I need a little help just got my Rl-i 12's A few days ago. still dont know what zmp to get. I got the dual 4 ohm . Im kinda loking at the octane-R 8.0:1 but dont kno the full specs of this amp. dose it run 1 ohm stable and if it does what wattage .Is it 800 rms at 2 ohms or is that just peak power? nsorry new to the whole sounds thing . planing on making one box for each sub about one cbf 2 one & a 1/4 cbf. if I could get some help or sugestions on amps for these sub it wuld be great .

I have 500 watts @2 ohm for power. A prefab box that's 1.8 cu ft tuned at 31hz slot ported. I listen to all differnt kind of music. I would like the best sq and if it gets loud that's good too. So which 12" should I go with with those specs.

hi, today i heard some horns because i wanted to see how loud they really are compared to normal speakers and i didn't think they sounded that bad it was just that they lacked midbass so i was wondering would it sound weird to have a horn and a midbass driver for a front stage and have normal speakers in the back( componots [i don't need to know that having rear speaker messes up imaging because i already know plus i already made holes for current speakers in my rear deck cover for the tweeters])

Hi guys I'm getting ready to do my first full system build and I'm looking to be clean and loud.My question is would I be able to run 2 ssa gcons safely off a crescendo bc 3500d or should I just go ahead and buy the icons?

Going to be running either four 18 fi bl or 15 inch. Was looking into crescendo PWX 6.5 and their super tweeter. but also want to know what some other options are out there. WIll be running in a 4 door tahoe 2004 z71, so standard would be four 6.5s in the doors and two tweeters up on the pillar. any advice as to other companies to research would be appreciated.

Have a 12" GCON in a sealed box. It sounds great but I am wanting more and I know the sub will give it to me if I can put it in the right enclosure. I used the ICON enclosure design for the sealed box it is in now, would the ICON ported design work well for the GCON as well? It falls into the optimal range, 2.5f^3 tuned to 33hz. It is a 2 ohm sub with 500 watts powering it in the trunk of a '96 accord. I have about 32" x 20" x 18" to work with. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for a ported box design that will work well with the GCON?
