How about a little history lesson on Blues? How did they start? Who was involved? What happened to the line when SoundQuest (Way before AAMP/Stinger) bought them out? When they decided to bring the Blues lineup back? I am very interested as I always liked the brand when I was a kid back in the 90's. P.S. I just recently bought a pair of IVX 12's on impulse because of the sale, ha. They're rated at 300 rms, conservatively (As stated on their website). I've also heard that Skar is just booming like crazy, and getting all sorts of comp wins. Anyways, anyone here have any experience with how much clean power the IVX's can take?

Finally got some time to do my Wifes build for Bass Race. Equipment is 4 MJ 18s and a Massive Audio P3000.1. 18.5 cubes tuned to 30 hz. On to the pics any comments or critisim is always welcome. what Im working with. the old boxes the wood some scraps some together the port just needs the top in the van should have made it taller. This will be walled off behind the second row of seats. Bracing will be in the form of threaded rod. The only reason its in the van now is cause I dont have any room in the garage for it.

After a month of looking at the compromises, I have decided to go with tweeters in the A-pillar (Alpine D2904/610001) and to mount my SEAS (W18E001) in the kicks. Being my car is a 5 speed I couldn't lose much foot space either so the directional mounting won't be optimal, but surely a lot better than stock! Hi all, This is my first on the forum so please bear with me. I just installed a bass tube in my hatchback Toyota Yaris, the Pioneer ts-wx20lpa http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/TS-WX20LPA/index.html. The sub is hooked with the factory oem h/u, therefore I installed a high/low converter, the exact model being this one XScorpion LC09 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_40150_Xscorpion-LC09.html . The power cable is a standard cable which came with the sub and is directly connected with the car battery (no capacitor or fuse). I have 4 RF Punch Stage 1's (I know they suck, temporary until I can get more money). I just lined the inside of my box with mattress padding (cheapo, I know). Before I put the foam in the box was tuned to 29 Hz. Did the airspace the foam took up make my box smaller? I built the box with 4 separate chambers, each one being 1.805 cu. ft., which is slightly larger than the recommended 1.79 cu. ft. per sub. So is the box smaller now and have a different tuning? Also, is fast double bass bad for these subs? I have them on a horrible Xplod amp wired at 2 ohms ~600 rms. They sound good, but I know I'll be getting something else asap.

i have a 2006 bmw 325i (e90) which has the battery in the trunk. i want to know how i can connect my 2 12's and 2 amps to the stock headunit? or would i have to buy a new headunit such as pioneer alpine etc.??? plz if any1 has a BMW and has connected a system to it, let me know how.

Hello All, I'm relatively new to this and i've begun to build up my first system in my 2008 Chevy Cobalt Coupe. I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, and the speakers with Infinity Reference series. I'm looking to add a subwoofer to the system but I have a constraint. I'm an avid mountain biker and I transport my bike in the trunk often (Bike rack won't fit over the spoiler). I either need a subwoofer that's easily removable, or something that fits tight against the side of the trunk (requiring a custom box?). I recieved my xcon 15" a week ago, and Wow! where do I begin? After obsessing over craftsmanship (simple yet eye catching) I ended up using a 3.2 cu. ft. enclosure tuned to 30hz. This beast is powered by a 1000/1 (4 ohms) and a nak for the sound source. If there's a way to describe how hard and clean this thing pounds, It's bruce lee kicking you spot on your chest with the music. I am looking to upgrade my alpine type r 12 inch subwoofers. I had came across the soundqubed HDS 300 d2 12 inch sub and had made my mind up until I heard about american bass xfl. My setup is a 4 cubic net internal volume ported at 32hz. Currently pushing 2 alpine type r with an alpine mrx 240 amp rated 1500 watt at 4ohms and 2400 watt at 2 oohm in a grand am trunk rear firing. Which would perform better with the given parameters? Can't find a whole lot on soundqubed, no box specs although the HDS 300 had really good reviews but so does the xfl. I have to electrical to supply the power for either. Which would be louder out of the hds300 or xfl? Any opinions would be great…

hey guys i was wondering if yall could help me out on my goal. I want to get to 150 on music daily/ground pounder or as close as i can get to 150 with the amount of space and power i have. To start off with i have a 275 amp Ohio generator alternator, most likely i am going to buy 1 or 2 xs d3100 batteries. Thats what my electrical is going to consist of. So for the amp i am go to buy a saz-3500. Now for subs i would have a budget of $700-$800 and i have about 8ft^3 to work with and thats after port and bracing displacements. I would also like to tune my box between 32-34hz as i listen to mainly nothing but rap music. let me know what yall guys have in mind.

I have a 98 blazer with aftermarket electrical system. I currently have 2 SA-15s running off of a hifonics hifi1500d. I'm wondering if i would notice any difference in sound if I added another sa-15 and ran a hifonics hifi 1000d on it? I want my system to be louder but not stupid loud haha any input on upgrading amps or anything like that will be accepted!

Aside from the 2 15" subs having the cone area advantage... Why would it be better to have 2 15"s over 4 10"s.....

i have treo ssi 15s now, their the 2005 models. i get around a 143 at 30 hz now. i like disgustingly low bass at ridiculous sound levels.. but i am going to be putting a wall in my truck. i plan to use us amps, you cant change my mind on that. Anyhow feedback on subs would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, new to the forum and looking for a few thoughts or ideas. i have a brand new FI Q12 basic sub that sounds horrible in my opinion. I have had my hand in car audio for 15 years or so and this sub is driving me insane. its installed in a 2004 ram 1500 hemi and powered by a new kicker zx1500.1 in a box around 1.25 i know thats just outside the sub requirments. the speaker sounds as if its bottoming out or not getting the needed power, plenty of movement but no sound at high volume. low volume (scale of 1-20 lets say 10) the bass is clean 18-19 bottom out sound little bass 2-4" flex. i have a rockford p3d12 powered by a kivker 1500.1 in another ram it slam…

I have heard a million times that running one voice coil on a sub with multiple coils is wrong. I read an article by Adire Audio years ago and they actually suggested running on one voice coil in certain situations. I also remember that running one VC while "shorting" out the second VC would change woofer characteristics, I believe it raises QTS if I remember correctly. I understand that it would basically halve the power handling of the sub. What else does it do? The article also says something about a sub with 300 watts wasting 298 watts as heat, and only using around 2 as musical energy. Are speakers really, that inefficient? So I see theres a subwoofer that comes in a 4 ohm and a 2 ohm version. I believe a 2 ohm version would be easier to run and most D class amps are compatible with lower ohm rated subwoofers? So is the only reason between the versions, based on which amplifier you have? Just trying to understand this. Thanks! Also, yes I did buy an Acura TLX 2017 tech. With the ELS speaker system.
