hey guys i was wondering if yall could help me out on my goal. I want to get to 150 on music daily/ground pounder or as close as i can get to 150 with the amount of space and power i have. To start off with i have a 275 amp Ohio generator alternator, most likely i am going to buy 1 or 2 xs d3100 batteries. Thats what my electrical is going to consist of. So for the amp i am go to buy a saz-3500. Now for subs i would have a budget of $700-$800 and i have about 8ft^3 to work with and thats after port and bracing displacements. I would also like to tune my box between 32-34hz as i listen to mainly nothing but rap music. let me know what yall guys have in mind.

  2. So I’ve narrowed my choices down to the FI Q Neo 15 and the FI BTL Neo 15. My indecision is which would be best for my tastes/application. I’ve never had a system as quality as what I’m looking to get into, so I’d like to get everything right and feel satisfied with the end result. I’ve had 1 15” l7 and 2 12” l7 over the last 6 years. Both systems were adequate, however, the most recent system being the 2 12s wasn’t put together properly by the audio shop I had install and build the box for them to be housed in. Long story short; the box and wiring didn’t jive with the setup, which burnt my coils and broke the surround on both subs. They were dual 4 ohm wired to a Hifonic…

On to the pics any comments or critisim is always welcome. what Im working with. the old boxes the wood some scraps some together the port just needs the top in the van should have made it taller. This will be walled off behind the second row of seats. Bracing will be in the form of threaded rod. The only reason its in the van now is cause I dont have any room in the garage for it.

  5. I just recently bought a pair of IVX 12's on impulse because of the sale, ha. They're rated at 300 rms, conservatively (As stated on their website). I've also heard that Skar is just booming like crazy, and getting all sorts of comp wins. Anyways, anyone here have any experience with how much clean power the IVX's can take?

I still can't quite get my subs to sound more up front. My fronts just lack any kind of punch though they seem to be able to handle bass if I toy with boost or loud modes but they don't really have that punch that some OEM speakers without any amp have. I'm sure you know what I mean, like the mid bass region isn't tight despite the door is all sealed up and I use time alignment. Here is what I have and what I have done. Pioneer avx-3700bh JL Audio C5 component speakers up front. woofer is in door and tweeter is up far corner of dash where default tweeters were. JL Audio XD 3 channel amp Silver cladded OFC RCA wires and Knuconceptz power …

  7. Hi all, This is my first on the forum so please bear with me. I just installed a bass tube in my hatchback Toyota Yaris, the Pioneer ts-wx20lpa http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/TS-WX20LPA/index.html. The sub is hooked with the factory oem h/u, therefore I installed a high/low converter, the exact model being this one XScorpion LC09 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_40150_Xscorpion-LC09.html . The power cable is a standard cable which came with the sub and is directly connected with the car battery (no capacitor or fuse). The sound is quite good and solid considering it is a bass tube, however I notice that at certain very low frequencies the bass response suff…

  9. I have a set of Kenwood KFC-P709PS connected to a Kicker 350.2KX *i think it is*. So about 3 weeks ago I moved the amp so I can put the back seat down. Then today, I put hooked the RCA cable back to it, and Im getting bass and whatnot but no vocals at all. I changed RCA cable. Did nothing. I changed the speaker wire. Did nothing. Tried just the speaker without the tweeter. Still nothing. Checked power and ground connections. Nothing. I factory reset my headunit which is a KVT-516, and that didnt work. Im lost here. I checked all the connections on the back of the head unit and all that. Everything is good. I wanna say my amp is buggered but its pounding my speakers like n…

I have a 98 blazer with aftermarket electrical system. I currently have 2 SA-15s running off of a hifonics hifi1500d. I'm wondering if i would notice any difference in sound if I added another sa-15 and ran a hifonics hifi 1000d on it? I want my system to be louder but not stupid loud haha any input on upgrading amps or anything like that will be accepted!

The other day when Mark and I were talking about his new model subs, he suggested he send me one of his new prototype drivers, the Mach 5 SPL 12. I got this sub in this weekend and had a chance to look over it and install it, and throw some real power at it (above 2.5kw, per his request). This will be Mach 5 audio's first real SPL dedicated subwoofer, and from what ive observed this weekend, I only wish they had them in 18's First off, here are the pictures of the driver. The first thing I noticed about this driver is the heafty weight of the assembly, it comes in at 54 lbs  The basket is a standard 12 spoke style, however its been machined and milled …

  13. I recieved my xcon 15" a week ago, and Wow! where do I begin? After obsessing over craftsmanship (simple yet eye catching) I ended up using a 3.2 cu. ft. enclosure tuned to 30hz. This beast is powered by a 1000/1 (4 ohms) and a nak for the sound source. If there's a way to describe how hard and clean this thing pounds, It's bruce lee kicking you spot on your chest with the music. This is a great subwoofer, I've heard W7's and this one takes the cake especially at its price. Enough talk here's some photos: My ride quick comparison to alpine type r 12" Boxed, carpeted, ready to thump! I am looking to upgrade my alpine type r 12 inch subwoofers. I had came across the soundqubed HDS 300 d2 12 inch sub and had made my mind up until I heard about american bass xfl. My setup is a 4 cubic net internal volume ported at 32hz. Currently pushing 2 alpine type r with an alpine mrx 240 amp rated 1500 watt at 4ohms and 2400 watt at 2 oohm in a grand am trunk rear firing. Which would perform better with the given parameters? Can't find a whole lot on soundqubed, no box specs although the HDS 300 had really good reviews but so does the xfl. I have to electrical to supply the power for either. Which would be louder out of the hds300 or xfl? Any opinions would be great…

Hello All, I'm relatively new to this and i've begun to build up my first system in my 2008 Chevy Cobalt Coupe. I replaced the head unit with a Pioneer AVIC-F700BT, and the speakers with Infinity Reference series. I'm looking to add a subwoofer to the system but I have a constraint. I'm an avid mountain biker and I transport my bike in the trunk often (Bike rack won't fit over the spoiler). I either need a subwoofer that's easily removable, or something that fits tight against the side of the trunk (requiring a custom box?). My first choice is to get an integrated subwoofer/amplifier so I can easily remove it when I need the space (something like a Bazo…

so i spoke with my dealer today, and to anyone who is not informed of this new information... please enjoy DD will be decreasing production of the "Holy Grail" 95Z. the reason is to make it more rare. They will be discontinuing the 91Z and 9Z series completely "I BELIEVE" they have now opened up an option called "Supercharge". this option you can apply to most motors and will increase the gauss AN UNGODLY AMOUNT! also the option will be available for neo slab subs, "Fi style" DD has launched that they now own the 3rd largest magnetizer in the U.S. which is why i believe the options will be available. looks like the 9500 H is about to become one of the baddest subs... als…

Alright lets first start off with I have gone through about 20 different woofers (talked about) and still have not picked one to install yet. I went from 18's to a single 15 back to 18 then to 4 10"s now it seems I am stuck once again. I am putting all this inside of a 2002 VW Passat GL with a 120 amp alt. The trunk space is roughly 40w x 18h x 42d. Now I have enough room to fit a 18" in there but not enough room to allow adequate airflow. Well that's fine so lets downgrade to a 15" or 12" or 10". First I was talking with Shizzz and we decided on 4 10" sd2.5's. Would allow for more cone area than a single 18 and therefor move more air. But here is the problem, I would als…

I am almost done with my sub-stage and Sound deadening So its time to start planning my front set-up. I want a midbass in the front door with my midrange and tweeter Now that I will no longer have rear's. I had been thinking of a round misbass but have heard such great things about the XS-69's and know they are same SD as an 8". I am also VERY interrested in the XS-65 comps for the mids and tweeters, but honestly have never heard any of them. I like the speaker's specs, ID customer service, and want to give my money to an American company. I will be driving 200 miles to Denver to hear them for myself before making any final decision. I am after flat response, Good sound …

This time we feature four speakers in the highest price category, $499 and up. No knock-outs or TKOs but certainly there are winners in our series of tests. But you are the judges and make the final determination. In the end, context is king. The woofer that is best is the one that is best for you. Objective: Four Max Performance Long Excursion 12" Woofers In the first round of the Subwoofer Comparison test we looked at four woofers that had price tags from $270-$300, followed by the second group that ran…
