Have a d3400 under hood and big3 done in 0 guage ,0guage running to distro block in rear. Have h/o alt on the way and was thinking on adding a d1200 in back.Do i have to run another 0 guage wire for ground to the front battery,or will I be ok with a short run of 0 running straight to the frame?

Hi Nate, Looking for your solid advice on my current project. I have a SAE-1200D running at 1 ohm, and a MB Quart 4125 running at 4ohms per channel. Stock alternator (105 amp) and a Autocraft titanium battery in my 2004 Impala. The big three have been updated with 1/0 wire, and the alternator has been modded so that it produces about .2 volts more at all times. With the car warm and music at half level the voltage at the sub amp and the battery is at 14.8 volts steady. With the music at full tilt with heavy bass the voltage drops as low as 12.9 at the battery and amp. This is when it looks like the car is a disco ball and headlights/all the interior lights dim. i have a 96 chevy astro, how many amphere of alternator will fit in this car.

I have a 2000 Frontier w/ a 2.4L 4cyl engine. The stock alternatoris fine for running the engine & truck stuff but I need to add a hi output alt to feed my pending system(2 yellowtops and 1 saz3000d, and Zapco 200.2 for front stage) I'd rather leave the stock alt where it is, as it is on the bottom of the engine and in a tiny space & I really don't want to ph@k with it. Is there a way to bracket a big GM alt on top of the motor somewhere? I have room there but want to make sure this can be done and how to do it right. I would want the alt to run the system related stuff only.

i got 3 kinetik batteries. 2 1800 and 1 800. the 800 is going under the hood and the 2 1800s are going in the trunk. the hc800 voltage is at 12.49 and the 1800 is 12.65 and the other is like 12.7. can i hook them up in parrallell or will the hc800 ruin both the other batteries.

I don't really understand the specs. The D121200 is in the same "class" as the Powermaster D3100... I would like to run battery direct because there distributor is closer to me and theres a dealer in town.

I'm seeing similar wattage recommendations for a few batteries, I wanted to know which one is the best for me as a second battery. Have a red top under the hood and plan to throw a relay between the two batteries. Right now I have 1500W, but plan to upgrade to ~2500 in the future. Thanks!

As of right now I have a Mechman 270 and two optima red tops under the hood in stock locations. Big 3 done also. I am dropping into 11's on full tilt at idle and mid 12's while driving. I was originally going to replace both red tops up front with the two d3400's which I think would be fine for my power (3600watts roughly) but was wondering should I leave the Redtops up front and put the d3400's in the rear and run wire directly from my alt to those that way they don't pull from the red tops and they are dedicated to the system? Is this a option or should I just stay with my original plan running both up front. Thanks

I was wondering was there any big difference in charging a 16v batt. at 14v. I was thinking of buyign some 16v batteries, but I was making sure there wouldnt be any problem chaging them.

Can you use a regular Sears 12v battery charger to charge the D3100. My charger has a 2volt and 6volt setting

Can i wire my D3100s in parallel and charge them like that, or will i have to do each one by itself?

I can only keep charging voltage below 14.4 if I do 2 amp charge. If I go to 8 amp charger reads 15 even. So I'm I right by keeping ampare down?

So, I'm looking into replacing my Kinetik batteries in hopes that my low idle voltage may be a result of not so great battery conditioning and whatnot. Is it recommended to charge the XS Power when you first get them shipped to you? If so, would the CTEK MUS 3300 be good for it? What setting should it be on? The car or snowflake icon??? Hey all. Putting 3 d3100's in my setup and am thinking about putting them in a toolbox or sealed battery boxes under a tonneau cover in the back of my truck. How much impact will cold Colorado winters and hot summers (around 100 degrees) have on the performance of these batteries? My plans are to run a few runs of 1/0 up to some buss bars inside the cabin and then go from there to my amps. thoughts?

i have a xs d3100r that keeps growing whitish greenish crystalized corosion on the negative brass battery post. whats up? is it leaking?
