I have searched everywhere for a high ouput alternator for my 2008 Hyundai Elantra and nobody makes one! My stock alternator is a puny 90amp unit. I would like to be able to support +3000wrms. I plan on using a D6500 battery under the hood. By adding a second battery I would not be improving anything other than killing my alternator faster, right? Do you think I can support +3000wrms with my factory alternator and a D6500? Thank you! Eric

I'm sure its not going to be a problem but wanted to check. My d3100's arrived from Summit today and one of them got the corner bashed in a little. Just curious how thick the plastic cases are on these. Here is a pic:

I have a DC Power 270XP a D3400 under the hood and a D3400 in the trunk. Batteries in parallel, no relay(one run 1/0 +, one run 1/0 -). All wiring is Stinger HPM 1/0. Wire connections are terminated with copper ring terminals soldered with silver solder and crimped. Fuse holders are screw down type with Kicker 300a anl fuses. I have two engine grounds in 1/0, alternator to battery ground in 1/0, both batteries are grounded in 1/0. Under hood battery grounded to strut tower, rear battery grounded to frame rail. The only amplifier I am using right now is a Crescendo 3kwp wired at 1ohm gain set approx 45ac volts. I estimate I may see 200a draw now but will be seeing 400a in …

Just wanted to let everyone know that we are currently moving to a different location, so there may be a slight delay in the responses. The best way to reach me if you need something is by email or by phone. If you get my voice mail I am probably at the other office and will get back with you as soon as possible. I am handling things at both locations right now, so I cant be on the forums as much right now. Should have everything completed here in the next week or so and then back to business as usual. Just wanted to let everyone know.

I have a 2000 Frontier w/ a 2.4L 4cyl engine. The stock alternatoris fine for running the engine & truck stuff but I need to add a hi output alt to feed my pending system(2 yellowtops and 1 saz3000d, and Zapco 200.2 for front stage) I'd rather leave the stock alt where it is, as it is on the bottom of the engine and in a tiny space & I really don't want to ph@k with it. Is there a way to bracket a big GM alt on top of the motor somewhere? I have room there but want to make sure this can be done and how to do it right. I would want the alt to run the system related stuff only.

  18. I know i should know this but do you have to match the cranking amp ratings on batteries to run them together? Or can you just run about any battery regardless of the amp ratings? Will they draw off of each other. The only reason i ask is I've bin looking around the forums at alot of installs and have seen a couple mixed matched batteries linked together. I have 2 optima redtops and i want to hook another battery to them without a isolater but don't want to spend another $160 on another redtop battery. Any help would be appreciated Joe

What size threads are the post holes for the D-series batteries. Also, how deep are they? Mine won't be for about a week so I'm unable to just measure. I'm looking for ways to hook up three 1/0 gauge power wires.

Just wondering how much height does an i-bar and the short posts add to the batteries? I'm thinking of upgrading to a 3400 under the hood but I'm worried about clearance issues with the top.
