  1. who will be going to this one? Ernie, Myself, and a few others from Phoenix are going down for sure... info: http://www.mecacaraudio.com/flyers/6-06-10AZv34pdf.pdf
  2. O.K. Here's the scoop. GLUE When the adapter harness was made, the plastic socket/plug had to be glued to hold the wires securely in the harness. Well.........Glue leaked down two of the three pins inside the harness. Completely glazing the whole both pins. Here's how I found it out: Turn the ignition on but DO NOT start the engine. Test the Yellow wire on the end of the plug and put the black probe/clamp on a good ground. This should now read the same as at the battery. (Problem ~ I had no reading at all) Next, repeat the process with the Green wire. This should also read the same as the battery but may be a couple tenths lower. (Problem ~ I had nothing here as well) When I did this test on the stock plug/harness, I had good readings..... Inspected the harness and notices the glue on the pins. Removed the glue with a small machining file. (tiny, fine tooth file) After all that, It's alive!!!! 14.2 volts all the way to the rear.... When the Icons are hurling it only loses .2 volts when it really digs deep. No video yet, I need to do a bit of cleaning up and inspecting everything to make sure there are no cracks in the hood from the pressure. But I do have some new pics.... New inline fuse bracket, 10Ga. 316L Stainless Steel. New battery top bracket, same material as above. The foam on the top is being replaced by black Armaflex foam. Me putting the alt in the first time...8 hours at work the came home for 4 hours on the install. Day two. Put the alt back in after cleaning the plug. Finally got some help the past couple days from my bud James. He's putting the new bracket on the battery and checking cables. Amp rack with fan on the T1500-1bd. Plus install process pics...... Dropping in the Icon D1 15's I'll get a video up real soon I promise y'all !!!! This set up is way more intense than the last I had !!!
  3. like everyone else ? He's not like me !!!!!!!!!!! And I'm not regular ! I don't know if he's a regular dude, but the Tahoe is really not regular (with so much thousands watts in it). so you consider your self to be better then other people on this forum? and around the world?? so what your telling me is that steve and you are mainstream celebrities? or maybe? chill out. Love watching all you vids and build logs, you do amazing work man. lol i just think its funny when cats think they are big time when they are popular with a lil group of people.. if you only knew bout me.. lol that guys has to be with steve.. In one breath you say why do people admire him and his work so much and that hes nothing special, and in another breath you talk about how popular you'd be if people knew who you were. Sounds like your jealous, maybe not. Either way, No one honestly cares, if your the record holder in your class in meca or usaci thats great for you and you have my uttmost respect or if your just another person who loves bass EDIT: saw in your previous threads you don't know much, so being a record holder is out of the question, and considering 200 bucks was a lot for you to get at the time (which is for me too sometimes) it's probably safe to say your not a rich celebrity either. So to me, your just jealous of his work. Normally I don't flame and be a dick, but whatever I just don't see the point on ragging on people who admire SMD work.
  4. Up Next: Ascendant Audio, used the exact background as their website. Enjoy.
  5. UPDATE!!!! OMFG!!!!! It's alive !!!!!! WoW This is insane!!! Pics later..............(and explanation as to the voltage issue)
  6. These are generalized recommendations that if built, will perform very well. Of course, you can use a free box program like WinISD or something similar and be able to use the T/S specs that are available on the website and come up with your own design. SQL 8: Sealed Recommendation: .35 - .6 cubic feet per driver Ported Recommendation: 1.3 - 1.8 cu. ft, tuned 31-37hz, 6-8 square inches of port per cubic foot SQL 10: Sealed Recommendation: .55 – 1.2 max. cubic feet per driver Ported Recommendation: 1.8 - 2.3 cubic feet, tuned to 30-35hz. 8-12 square inches per cubic foot. SQL 12: Sealed Recommendation: .7 min. – 1.8 max per driver Ported Recommendation: 2.1 - 3.0 cu. ft, tuned 30-35 hz, 8-12 square inches per cubic foot SQL 15: Sealed Recommendation: 1.3 min. – 2.25 max. per driver Ported Recommendation: 3.0 - 4.5 cubic feet, tuned to 28-35, 9-14 square inches per cubic foot. The DVC's are still a bit out there as far as time is concerned. I can tell you for sure that they will not be available before the sale ends. I don't know what kind of power you are trying to, or hoping to run to them, but I can tell you that they still perform very, very well when underpowered. If you had 350-500 watts to throw at an SQL-12 you would still get plenty loud.

Turn the bass boost off... EDIT:SPLguy, why would you want nasty power? That just means clipping=shitty SQ
  8. That's dependent on the amplifier. ..Ok lets get more specific "MAJORITY" of amps put out more at lower ohms. Lol, okay question is do SAZ-1500D's put out more at lower ohms? And can 12" XCON's D2's handle the output? If you'd do a little research, you could answer all your own questions, and probably feel better about doing it. Here is a little something to get you started: Sundown Audio - SAZ-1500D Sound Solutions Audio - XCON Series Subwoofers
  9. here's a little vid of the car running on my amp, since I have no use for it at the moment...
  10. That is hilarious. What isn't wrong with RD Audio should be the question. Products are decent but customer service is absolutely horrible. I have (2) 12" paperweights in my basement right now because of Really Disappointing Audio.

Can you recommend a car that's really fast but also handles well in a wide variety of situations? Attn NOOBS!!!! SSA Guidelines to Effectively Answer Your Questions
  12. it happenned to me two weeks ago and i was 100% sure the subs were hooked right. I realize my mistake few days after they were out actually..... take a look, series wiring can ben tricky, at least to me
  13. I rather verify, verify, verify, recheck, recheck, rather than screwing something up ... I usually have a wiring diagram in my hand when looking at mine.
  14. RD with a blown coil sounds about right

i had the EXACT same problem. i kept thinking it was different things because everytime i did some thing like big 3, better ground it lastet longer without protect but still ended up going. i talked to jacob and FIXED it. the amp is entering clipping protection. 1. if your bass boost was all up like mine, turn it to half way. 2. set your gain slightly less than half. like 3/8. believe me you will still see nasty power with the settings like that and at HIGH volumes it will not cut off. it will still push my cvr 15s enough for my coils to smell with settings like that lol

thats what i use my gain nob for, 6db bass boost is ok
