  1. Taken from this thread: Daber audio """SQL""" subwoofer??? - SSA Car Audio Forum
  2. It broke purely from pressure not flex, frequency was too low to make it flex. Flex has a ripple it goes all the way across the shield with equal pattern of shatter...pressure looks like a bullseye target. The screen caved in. This was just on a burst at around 34Hz. Taken a week to get a replacement. Got installed today and it broke before it even got fitted  Seems like it was a defective screen. Had to install it otherwise i had a gaping non-water tight hole.. it wont last very long though I will find out in the morning with some torture testing with some help with some 50mm clear tape. If it holds up I'll be a show at the weekend.. if not I'll be waiting out a week for one.. Sucks ass to this side of the pond sometimes!!

  4. I have to agree that a BTL in a ported box tuned to 33Hz isn't designed for midbass. That LPF should be set to 50Hz, so that sub stays tight and hits hard and deep, like it's meant to do. If you want midbass, try using 8" midbass drivers from someone like DynAudio, Seas, or Vifa. Then you can use them as rear fill too, and add a L-R differenced signal delayed about 20msec and band-pass filtered. That would be an outstanding addition to a sub and a 2-way component set up front.
  5. all you want to do it add a layer between the door and panel. If it cant hit the door it has nothing to vibrate against. It is not used in place of deadener on metal, but as a layer between that and the trim. It comes 36" x 36" so a quantity of 2 would be pleanty for 2 doors. I have also used Dynamat Dynaliner on my roof, it is MUCH thicker. Be carefull going to thick on the doors, mine were tight as hell to get back on between the deadener and the ensolite.
  6. I agree. It's amusing how so many people think the Level 5 would be superior, because they think bigger is better when it comes to motors. The Level 5's have HUGE gaps, not good for cooling.
