  1. Do you have another source like an iPod with an RCA adapter you can try ?
  2. 1 point
I demoed my 10" DCON to the local Alpine/RF dealer and we swapped out my DCON and enclosure for a 12" Type R and its pre-fab enclosure. The DCON was louder to the ear and played the lows with more authority. "The overall sound and output of the DCON was superior to the Type R". That was the response I got from the dealer himself. DCON FTW!
  3. Generally the smaller enclosure your going to be able to increase the power applied. Larger enclosure generally is more efficient and doesn't need the extra amplifier power applied.
  4. My friend Alfonso's Video from today...

  7. First, it was great meeting and hanging with some new people from the forum. I gave some more "wtf, those are 8's?!" demo's today (LMAO ), handed out some SSA cards , and got to show and sing the praises of Sundown Audio...FTW I was very happy with my score, our team scores, and how IAK was able to rep ourselves and SSA at the show. Hoping I can sleep tonight....a little excited for day 2 Shouts out to all of my IAK family, old and new

  9. Think of it this way, the Icon has built a strong and growing following that is a very proven woofer that people really like. It is more sub then most people need. The Xcon takes every aspect to then next level, if not more. You just have to decide if the higher performance and limits of the Xcon is worth your money to fill your install goals.
  10. Bass boost is really ONLY so bad because it gets completely abused. The idea behind having bass boost is really just a selling point from days gone by. It was originally used to bring up bass frequencies that were almost non existent in the music of them olden days. Today's music is recorded much differently and the need for BB is just not there, but from a sales standpoint, if you didn't know ANYTHING about car audio (and lets face it, the majority of people out there really don't) and were shopping for amps. If amp A had a bass boost, and amp B didn't chances are you'd buy amp A cuz it seems better cuz it has more features.
