  1. Done things like this in industrial applications with electromagnet(s) and inert gases.. Nitrogen is WAY too cold, you can't do that. Again..the car audio market can barely support what we have going on with Supergauss. A wise man never pushes the market farther than it can support. Edit: Scott did the XMX 6.5 that was a 6.5" woofer that moved 4" linear...which for the market at that point, and still is not supportive. We can do really crazy odd ball make your mind go 'WTF' stuff...there simply is not a market or a need for it at this point and time. It's the difference in truly making your own products, understanding how they really work...instead of slapping UPS labels on pre-built conventional woofers from China. We will continue to do what we are doing now in the car audio segment..when we feel there is a market and it is large enough to support making things for larger scale manufacturing then we will go that route..until then they'll never be seen here.
  2. It's that time of year again! Everyone knows that Black Friday brings great deals and here at Argent Audio it's no different! So through the end of the month we will be doing 15% off all enclosures! And an extra 5% off sealed enclosures! The discount apply to the cost of the enclosures only and not shipping. Andrew
  3. Yeah the saz-1500d v.2 is still on pre-order for 400$ which is pretty good compared to the 500$ that it will be after the pre-order. @ OP If you decide to get the Saz-1500 v.2 make sure you have good enough electrical. Or any amp for that matter. Well, I have a Super Duty F250 that has a decent size alternator and two Optima Red Top's under the hood. I may add another alternator if I its required. Is there no difference between the SAZ-1500 v.2 and the other SAZ-1500? It doesnt really matter if it doesnt get here for a month. I am telling my wife all this can be my Christmas gift. lol. Just keep a good eye on the voltage. If you see that its getting low then go ahead and do the big three and another battery if necessary. Well, for right now the v.2 is 100$ cheaper than the v.1. The v.2 grabs some more powerful parts from its big brother the saz-2500d. The v.2 also is a tad bit smaller than the v.1. They tested the v.2 and it put out a lot more power than the v.1. the v.1 tested 1540 max and the v.2 was more like 1750 max. Personally, id get the saz-1500v.2. The difference in output between the two amps will not be noticeable so get which one you can, also the saz-1500d v.2 dont have on board fusing so your going to have to run an in-line fuse before the amp istelf on the power wire.
  4. Vance Dickason demonstrated that larger port area results in better port linearity, which equates to deebeez
  5. From my testing I have noticed that an increase in port area will show in score at high power. For instance...with 1000w, going from 8 inch port to 10 inch port showed no increase. At full power, ~3500w, the bigger port showed a healthy gain. This was in my install, with one 12 inch subwoofer.
  6. Ha Ha, I pretty much know what I think of them. That's why I keep buying more.
  7. So mainly DCON or SA so far, I looked into the Fi SSD and it takes 800RMS. I don't think the amp will push it well. Is that correct? Also everyone is mainly saying 12", is it going to be a big difference between a single 12 vs 10? Trying to save as much trunk space as possible. Also looks like every one is leaning on the ported side as well. No one here likes the RE's anymore? I remember when all the forums use to be about RE's... How about Skar Audio VVX-12 $169 ( I havent heard much on this sub though) or a Fi X? a 10" in an optimal box will out perform a 12" in a cramped box any day. A 10" driver such as a Dcon in an optimal ported enclosure will sound great on low power. Not much space needed. Since RE started adding "X's" to everything, all their subs have gone People used to talk about them all the time because their old drivers were awesome, and now their new generations are just watered down budget made drivers. As far as the Skars, they are pretty new to the game.. not many people with personal experience. But made around the same people affiliated with SSA (Mark etc...). Fi X would be a nice choice as well for a low price. For low power and space, I'd vote between a 10" Dcon or X in a ported enclosure on about ~300 watts and call it a day.
  8. Awesome fucking movie!
  9. I would go with an Fi or SSA 12" myself, they are some beautifully built speakers, for a great price. In a well built box, they will get ridiculously loud and sound great doing it.

KCA is copper clad aluminum with the new flex jacket! I would save more money and look into 99.99999% copper from WeldingSupply.com.

The N1 specs closer to the Q, the N2 is the equivalent of the Generation 2. "Low lows" are enclosure dependent 95% of the time

Sorta.. It's a completely different understanding on how flux flows and works.. Generally speaking it is a fluid dynamics problem meets physics meets mechanical engineering and a dash of electrical engineering thrown in as well..given your background i'm you are all too aware of that one . Scott and I did the very first original N2..and for some reason I was looking at it with a smart ass little grin when I was machining the parts to go together and yelled at Scott to come out in the machine shop.. Simply said "I wonder what will happen if we make this thing a half motor...just to really mess with peoples minds" ..and here she sits now ..simply me being a complete smart-ass and it works beautifully.
  13. I've used it to coat restroom partitions and wooden toe kicks for a restroom. It holds up fairly well. If you're looking for a DIY covering for a sub enclosure look at Durabak. It's awesome! I use it on my cooling towers and piping and it dries rock hard and looks great. The smooth version looks just like gel coat after it's applied. http://www.nonslipcoating.com/
