  1. Welcome .... Here are a couple good reads Attention NOOBS and Sound Solutions Audio Membership Read through these and you will understand how things are done around here at SSA.
  2. Bought a Canon 40d from a friend last christmas, here are some shots I've taken.

you post about pming him? lol.
  4. I had a 15" xcon in both, ported and sealed box. It gets loud and clean sealed, but you will see a good increase in output if you try a ported box. Tune it as SSA tells you ( 28 to 34 Hz) and you will love it. I loved mine with 2 4" aeroports. Save space for sure !
  5. If you don't laugh at this then I'm sorry. http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/11307191
  6. If your wanting the box to be below the window line I would either go sealed or go with Aero ports as they will take up less internal airspace and decrease your port area by up to 50%. There a lot of members here who have run XCONS both sealed and ported. They will chime when they see this post.
  7. Welcome .... The XCONS will perform great in a sealed enclosure. If your going for more of an sq setup sealed might be your best choice. Though XCONS sound great in ported as well.
  8. Its possible, but minus people bashing, because they don't know enough to. I learned to how deal with forum people because on CA.com. Back in 06-07 I loved ca.com. Had good drama, funny threads, and yet still good info. And if you made a dumb post 100 people jumped in and tore you apart. Which inturn makes you realize not to just post anything. Actually have facts behind your post. And it gives you tough skin against criticism. Which is what SMD needs BAD. 80% of those members would kill their selves if they was on ca.com back then. Heck some would even kill their selves on this site because nobody here let's people post bullshit without proving them wrong. Which is a good thing, unless you have a hard time dealing with people proving you wrong and then cry. Still, nobody should give out way wrong info. Its just bad all the way around.
  9. Aaron, my problem is, I was punished for being myself. Basically I was different than most users over there and they didn't like it, for the most part. I made valid points most didn't think of, I asked questions few thought of. When somebody made a dumb post, I pointed it out. Do that make me a asshole? I really got to thinking, its pitiful people cry over what another person posts on the internet. If you have that much of a problem where you get your feelings hurt over the internet, the real world must be WAY to hard for you. Its stupid. Like I said, I don't hold bite my tongue, if I think it needs to be said, I say it. And I don't care who likes it. Defiantly when it needs to be said. I'm disappointed people have gotten this way. I feel I was helping the site for the most part. As the questions I answered and the input I gave, was filling a void they have over there. Hopefully I'll always have a home on SSA. And is always my first choice to research good reliable info.
  10. Thats why I do detailed builds. I love seeing quality work and if my builds assist in that for somebody else then it's all worth it in the end.
  11. You kids can have your PS3's and Xbox360's. I like to kick it old school, ColecoVision style circa 1982....with the original steering wheel ! Good shit.
  12. I have an in process 15XCON trunk car. +140 would be nice. It Is fun to see what you can hit regardless of diver selection. This is my opinion. Hell Mark F. has numerous vids posted bragging about XCON numbers, I know they get loud. If I wanted numbers only I would have went with Sundown. I choose XCON for quality not numbers but like I said it is fun to see what you can hit. <----my opinion. If you have numbers (trunk car w/XCON) let's see them!
  13. What alt. are you using? You usually fuse for the wire size.
  14. What that graph tells me is that you have the Treo in the wrong enclosure. Your graph for the SSX looks fairly similar to the results from Unibox (Unibox doesn't show quite as big of a dip, but the shape is generally the same). And I realize Treo recommends 2.25cuft tuned to around 37hz (based on the F3 predicted by Unibox, since Treo only gives port dimensions and F3 and not actually recommended port tuning, and I'm too lazy to calculate it out). But keep in mind the recommended enclosure is only a single alignment and response out of a wide range of options, and Treo's goals for their recommended enclosure size may be something different than your goals. Treo's recommendation is not very smooth and poorly damped. I realize you aren't spot on Treo's recommended enclosure. But moral of the story is that enclosure has a lot to do with performance. I've played around and found some better options, I'll leave it up to you to see if you can do the same. Spend some time playing around with your new enclosure program and redesign an enclosure for the Treo and see what you think before you spend money on a new sub. Applied power can be important for predicting cone excursion levels, to make sure you aren't exceeding your subwoofers excursion capabilities and to determine how much power a driver may "require" for a given enclosure.
  15. so you got it metered yet? number up or stfu.

Regardless, you should have told me you DIDN'T submit the claim number until the 1st instead of saying you DID submit it on the 22nd. Either way, UPS should be here in a few hours. Will update then.

Kevin's name being drug through the mud has nothing to do with anything other than his own previous dealings, and his interaction here. If this were a first offense, chances are good most would give everyone involved a fair shake. But we are able to see the forest for the trees. Kevin's fucked up in the past. Plain and simple. He can't deny it, though I'm sure he wishes he were able to delete it from the internet. Here is his chance to show his shining new self. To show he's turned over a new leaf. Even if he has to eat a little money in the process, that's the price of trying to fix a tarnished reputation. But what has he done so far? So far he's denied any responsibility what-so-ever, and followed that up by threatening to stop his assistance in the matter if OP continues to post in this thread rather than keep the continuation of the transaction strictly to email (which is private, and much easier to cover one's tracks). Does it sound like a new Kevin? Nope. Sounds like the same old Kevin to me. He bitches about not having time to check the forums. If it were my name on the line, especially while trying to grow several new business, you'd bet your ass I'd stay on top of it out in the open. If that meant being inconvenienced, so be it. Then again, I wouldn't get myself into this situation to begin with. And if I did, I'd have already refunded money regardless of who was at fault to demonstrate my renewed commitment to good service and turning over a new leaf. And yes, somebody is out money. The guy with a non-working amp.

  19. Even though I can see some ripples in them, they look good. I got tired of the ripples when I did mine a while back, I now sand, fill, sand, fill, sand, fill, and then sand some more. When I get it where I want/like, I use a textured paint from Home Depot to paint them. This textured paint also save a bit on the imperfections as well as blends in w/the rest of the dash. I had to do some repair work on my A-pillars from previous installs and when I put it back in, it cracked at the seams. I'll redo it when time allows. Keep up the work.

If you continue to bash on forums after I answer every email you send me within 2 minutes via my phone (being swamped in the office all day) I will see no further reason to help in this matter. I have done everything in my power and you continue to make a point of calling me out. Kevin
