  1. site states about 85w RMS.... Sorry didnt look before I typed. Even still, that spec is horribly meaningless. It will have nothing to do with how loud they get, nor does it help you pick out an amp for them. Power handling specifications on mids are completely deceiving without stating what enclosure size and what frequency. You could spec it any way you want otherwise. Then of course even more useless when you realize that on the same drivers you won't hear a difference between 85w and 100w anyways the spec obviously does nothing but confuse the situation.
  2. Welcome to the site!!! I always wanted to get stationed in Japan when i was in the AF!! Never worked out though. What is your job? Love the GT-R also!!
  3. Started working on the baffles for the doors. Made of 0.75" MDF the baffles will hold a midbass driver and a 2" port. Here is the template I mocked up out of cardboard. I transferred the template onto a sheet of plywood, I made two copies. One copy will be for the outer dimension of the baffle. The other copy will be for the rabbet edge dimension. I used a square to cut out templates from the original copies to use as a router guide. This was difficult and not too accurate but I did my best. Just to make sure I didn't f things up too bad I cut out test pieces. The bottom piece represents the outer edge of the baffle the top piece represents the rabbet edge. Oh yeah, I stopped in to Harbor Freight and picked up an orbital sander Now that I am kinda pleased with my templates time to start cutting MDF. Jasper jig ftw One baffle done Midbass fitted and port fitted. The OD cutouts are 0.060" big per side account for vinyl.
  4. Stealth has always preached the 'xx square inches of port area per cube' thing, I've had "discussions" with him about it to no avail.
  5. Just don't forget that port area has nothing to do with box volume when determaining minimum size. This is a myth. Model your vent velocities at your power level to get meaningful sizes...
  6. good decision. you were at less than 6 sq. inches if port per cube.
  7. Thank you, you taught yourself something today.
  8. Stealth has always preached the 'xx square inches of port area per cube' thing, I've had "discussions" with him about it to no avail. lol im sure you know that is a great guideline right? he will also be overpowering those subs right? so you are saying that under 6 sq inches per could be sufficient???? please tell me 95honda and duran that 5per will suffice..
