yup. thanks for the input damnit. now you're changing my mind. the morels are from amazon and i would assume them to be an authorized dealer. plus a warranty. but none of the support ia has on this board. but they're more expensive. so i'm conflicted Honestly what support would you need? Anything you do with one, your going to do with the other. Your not putting them in an enclosure and asking help for volume or tuning. Installed in doors or kickpods, which ever driver you get, this won't change. I guess you could burn either of them up, then it would come down to which company is going to help you out. As for the authorized dealer, I would assume amazon would be safe, but I don't see how you could have any guarantee, where as if you order the IA's you know they aren't knockoffs. --- I'm not saying don't get the IAs, but your in a tough spot, asking people what they think is completely subjective. Without any real background info on either drivers, you can't model them up in any way. Assuming mounting depth isn't a deciding factor, sensitive rating in relation to rms, then your going off the company, not the product per say.

I am thinking about putting up a combo deal with a pair of SSA Dcon's.

thanks man! ill look into that one! how bout this.... forget my lack of midbass topic... im looking at new midbass drivers... what amp would u guys recommend for the Selenium drivers. It's hard to ignore the fact that you are trying to improve your midbass by selecting speakers that are not going to excel at midbass performance. Seems a little like trying to use a band-aid to fix a broken leg....then asking us to forget about the broken leg, you just need recommendations on what brand of band-aid to use.
  4. I agree that this is wasting forum space
  5. Every time I've had red tail since I was 15, it was a bit of a surprise to both of us.
  6. You guys laugh, but maybe they tell you that nonsense just to see if you agree with them or can intelligently argue against them. Maybe they're the ones laughing when you leave......"Did you see that guy who was just in, he really thought my system was 200db....lulz" Reverse psychology FTMFW
  7. "Hey cousin, do you smell something burning?" "....oh fuck"
  8. Sound Quality is not subjective !!! Its perfection in Car Audio installation and sound reproduction !!! And I would love to see this car in the Sound Quality lanes !!! I thing it could bring in some very impressive scores !!! Haha thats hilarious. If you say so, what is used to measure this perfection (ears, taste and biasness doesnt count)?

That's from Fi's website, but I think it might work the same ;D

Quit freaking out..stuff has to be built if they do not have it in stock. UPS re-weighs things regardless of what the label says.
  11. Looks nice. Have any idea of volume you're working with?
  12. Any progress?? Interested in how these pods are turning out.
  13. Thank you for asking I sold my DSLR last week and my new camera is on back order As of right now I didnt take recent pics of the pod since I am cameraless I hate cell phone pics I did do some 'glassing on the outside of the pod (2-3 layers) along with some trimming and sanding. I have 95% of the shape complete. I just have to go through and sand down high spots and fill in low spots. After the pod is complete dimension wise I am going to lay down some DamplifierPro on the inside and fill with a medium to get a volume measurement. Then starts the vinyl. I will take some crappy cell phone pics tonight Hopefully the passenger side pod goes much faster!! Next up kicks I did take some crappy cell phone pics of my Zed RA that was delivered last week Sorry for the chitty pics!!!
  14. I personally have not used the non-hardening modeling clay, but have seen it used by people I respect, with good result's.
  15. Gonna have to give a review of the RA, before and after?
  16. Lookin' Damn Good!!! Still think it's trippy that one of those holes will be a port!!! Keep it comin' !
  17. The fiberglassing turned out really well. I can't wait to see how it looks with that port. Keep up the good work
  18. X2 Great work. Your dedication and attention to detail is paying off.
  19. Pods are coming out great, on an awesome track What's the port length for the pods? Just eye balling it, looks like 0.4-0.6cubes for enclosure volume, and 4"-5" port diameter?
  20. One last test fit. I had to cut a little a reglass but I expected that. I used cat litter to measure enclosure volume. Now I need to measure the amount of cat litter used to fill the enclosure to get the volume. I covered the enclosure in vinyl. There are more stretch marks than a 90 year old woman! I layed down some Stinger Roadkill Expert on the bottom. I also used grommets for the 10 gauge Gepco ocf wire. You can see the screw in 10-24 bolt thingies that I am using to mount the driver. Making the grill. I used plywood and perforated steel. This is the back side. The front side is counter sunk so the steel is flush. I used minature bal and socket thingies to mount the grill. I made an error with this. I should havd use 3 ball and socket thingies, I only used 2 Here she is on the door. I used "special acoustic" grill cloth lol. Not too bad. You know how it goes....looks good from afar but far from good lol.
  21. i hope you scooped all the poop out of the cat litter right?
  22. The pod looks gorgeous!! Even though I like nekkid speakers, I really like how your grill came out. What did you come up with for volume?
  23. Looks cool. Wish I could hear you mid-bass setup.
  24. I havent had power to the midbass drivers yet. Unfortunitely that will nlt be for a while yet. I will be powering them with my 1000c4 bridged. Each midbass will get 250wrms. I did get the Z's. They are 12" Z v.2 with z.3 softparts. They were built by Paco at Sundown.
  25. Wow. That door looks pretty much factory. Mad props, is the other side this far along, or are you just doing one at a time?
  26. Do you find your self not feeling motivated to do the other side? Cause that's how I felt Your doors are going to be premo midbass, If I'm ever remotely close to PA, We're listening to some Tool!
  27. Very fine build here. Love the way the doors came out. I personally love the way the speaker and port look nekkid (without the cover).
  28. edub.. I need to see this in person.. and I need my doors done too ...
  29. I wish I was! Hopefully this Sunday I will do it...er...start it. Wrong answer!!!! I think you should be finishing the other panel this Sunday!! Little farther of a drive but I need some panels built also!
  30. I don't mind you taking forever... I'll just leave you my door panels... lol What is this NJMP? And what town is it in? And will you be driving the Hyundai????
  31. I started working on my passenger door. It is going much faster than the driver's door. My DC Power 270XP stooped working again DC Power is going to replace the voltage regulator. I started working on my batery terminals for the underhood battery. The terminals are designed for two runs of 1/0 to the rear. They are not completed yet. The terminals are cut out of aluminum. I used a Bridgeport mill. The blue 1/0 directly secured to the terminal will be coming from the alternator. I used two 1/4" set screws to secure the bare wire. One set screw never holds the wire in place good enough. Dual 300a fuses will be used.
  32. The terminal block is lookin' really nice!!! You gonna make those for all SSA members?
  33. ^^ this.... I want some... I need for my rear battery... Hook it up and how much? I'll come pick up if needed ...
  34. Thanks bro ... But I spray my engine down and keep it very clean and brushed up all the time (every time I wash the truck) ... Those connections stay clean ... This is the same setup (for the most part) going on for 3 years ... If I ever start having problems, I will sure check this out ... Thank you sir for your input !!!
