  1. Got on the phone with Dennis, I asked if they had an alternator for my 2.0l Mazda 3 2007. Told me I was in luck. I asked a few questions then I made the payment. very happy with the ease of ordering the product. The very next day, unfortunatly my car was totaled. Claimed totally unfixable. This of course means I do not need the alternator anymore. Called Mechman the very next day and explained the situation. He told me it was no problem and the money would be refunded. All transactions about returning the alternator were dealt with by Eric. He handled it very promptly and very professionaly. A few emails and a couple days later my money was refunded. I told Eric, that if he carried an alternator for my next vehicle (unknown) I will definitly purchase from mechman. I am very happy with how everything was handled and how fast it was taken care of. Once again, I'm sorry for the trouble I caused, and hope it will never happen again. Felt like I needed to type this to let everyone know that Mechman's communication and customer service is excellent. Do not hesitate to deal with Mechman. Thank you. -Jay
  2. Who gives a flying fart what it's going to sound like. The only way to keep the industry alive is people like you enjoying the hobby. It sounds like y'all are having fun playing around with a new setup and wanted to share with everyone. I dont know why anyone would want to scoff at that. And any one mature enough should realize this and be encouraging.
  3. I'm on my phone now. I can help more later today.
  4. Stefan was just using an example to show how port length can change. @ Stefan: I'm not sure but when i used to use these two formula calculators the results were good.
  5. Nope just one. I believe sa's are 19mm
  6. Complete the top then move to the bottom.
  7. Go here and complete both formulas. Complete the one at the top first. 10" is the number I figured out with your given application.
  8. 20" relates to the length. But you will need more than one 4" aero for your enclosure. You need roughly 10" port area using aeros for your enclosure.
  9. Also he said "keep on T-R-ucking" not what you said or thought!! But anyways, good luck with it man. Always fun to just tweak and mess with stuff. Might not be the most efficient way, but sure is a better habit then doing drugs or getting into trouble!! Best of luck!!
  10. I agree to this !!! 100% !!! On the job training trial and error IS the Best training tool ... Keep on trucking guys !!!
  11. Fingers? He has ten (I assume), he can spare a few
  12. Agreed! Hands on wood working and seeing the results is always fun! What's there to lose?
  13. Yes unless they said to hook them up the way you have them. What are the others? 6x9s dont give ohms? they are 4ohm like the front
  14. Do you have the new speakers amplified? If not I bet that is your problem. You stock speakers have a lower power rating than your new aftermarket ones, so they did not need an amp to get loud. Put some power to them and they will get loud. With an amplifier you can adjust the power ratio between the front and back also.
  15. Need more info. Are they the same ohm rating and could you have the positive and neg. reversed? Also are the deck speakers the same ohm?
  16. looks fun! but is the bumper going to be painted or what?
  17. Yep, dont even have a plan. no designer on here feels confident enough to make me a design. so ill build the biggest enclosure i can and see what fits. The 18s "can" use so much space, that your going to have a hard time making an enclosure too big in that car, just once it's done, try to figure out the volume, then make your port. It surely wont be too big. if i can get 18 cubes ill run 3 18s if not ill have a very efficient wall for 2 18s. ( I bought 3 just incase) Oh man, I bet you wish you could see the look on people's faces when they read that.
  18. Rather nice to see a manufacturer more concerned about what is right than making money. +1 for you sir and your company
  19. Front stage is Diamond Audio D6 components for now. Trying to figure out what to do next. I really want to do a nice 3-way setup. So many options..... I know Sir Lancelot could help you out!

  21. Its close. I think it may be choking it a little. Its roughly 8" on the floor from the box to the hatch. But it gets to 4" at the glass. I was stupid and didn't account for this. I haven't metered it yet, but I think a new box will be coming soon. Overall it sounds good but I think it can be better. Sounds like my old box when I was running 2 almost exactly, tho you do have a good bit more port area than I did. (180") If you can fold your seats and push the box, try that first to see if it helps. When I moved that box, it changed the peak frequency from 36 to 37 but didnt do anything for the score good or bad. That said it did help my new box a good bit. Try it both ways. Hard to know what it is going to do really. Yeah I am going to move it around a bit to see if it changes anything. My 2nd row seats do fold down. Of course this would only be a temporary solution since I use my 2nd row often. But I can change my dimensions around and build another box similar. I may give subwoofers and port up a try.

  23. No problem, We'll just need to figure out a time that works for both of us.
  24. Boooooo! Yeah yeah it will get done eventually Thank you
  25. Small update: I wasn't able to get in any term lab runs this weekend, too busy Waiting for more info on the Sundown Neo-Pro's so I can start upgrading my front stage
  26. Thanks. Yes it is tall, but I can see out the back. No wall for this vehicle, the nice thing about this setup is it can be taken in and out. No major modifications done. It sounds great to me. Its tuned at 32-33hz. Term Lab run this weekend. I'll post some numbers up after. Liking the blowthrough btw
  27. Oh, I have one more question lol- was it 40" to the plastic trim panel, or the actual hatch? 40" was useable depth. My box is 37" and it has some space in between it and the hatch. Of course, like most SUV's the hatch curves out farther near the floor and gets smaller towards the roof.
  28. Yeah I will get some better pics tomorrow morning. I didnt want to post any until the box is carpeted, but alot of people wanted to see what it looked like in the vehicle.
  29. twenty two and a quarter
  30. Sorry about the crappy pics. The vehicle is sitting outside and I took some quick shots. I will take more later. I still need to finish the box and clean up the wiring.
  31. Just a cheap table saw. Believe me I am not the best wood cutter out there. Sanding down edges actually helps me if they are off a little. I just make sure to cut bigger than I need if I do screw up.
