  1. I am still added the Copper Clad Aluminum Wire. Great prices on this stuff! http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/categories/Wire%2C-Cable-and-RCA%27s/XS-Power/
  2. I have yet to have a bad experience with Kevin. I have the utmost confidence in him, I am not nutthugging what-so-ever, every single transaction I have had with him went smoothly and he responded in a timely matter. The Skar VVX-12 is a very nice woofer at a very good price, it may be made in China but many other woofers are too. I love SSA, but it's sad to see when one experienced person hate on it all of the newer guys start hating on it without knowing the full story, regardless if it's true or not. Anyways /rant.
  3. wow that model has a nice tat near her tummy! lol! I will have to test some of this stuff would you ship 3ft to canada?
  4. and this is why jacob should have made it a secret that he did anything for this company... but then again he prolly didnt know he would act this way.
  5. To bad it takes a few bad apples to ruin a good thing going. One reason I won't support or recommend SKAR to anyone is the undercutting!
  6. Seriously, this crap is still going on? Had to ban another for using MY DAMN SITE to pm for sales. Really sad, really old, and I have zero tolerance for it.

Not voltage but speaker ohms make the difference. That is an ignorant statement. They both make a difference in this instance. Thats why I gave him an example. If he needs a different ohm load then he can adjust the formula. If the ohms change then the voltage changes also.
  8. Again you show you cannot read. I've not yet made a comment on the Skar drivers good or bad. Unlike yourself though I don't have a bloated e-boner for something that doesn't deserve it. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing special about the Skar driver and even more amusing if there was the owner wouldn't understand it. His goal is to make a buck and that's it. His history proves that. Perhaps he can grow up and change, but either way he doesn't deserve your blind misled faith.

I believe that tutorial is a good start. But not an end all for setting the gain on the amplifier.

Pmureika, I would still like to know this other formula. Always nice to learn new things. Especially if it makes it easier to set amplifier gain correctly.

Your ears are more reliable. Plus the markings on the amplifier are usually off because they are just printed on all the same. So I would never trust just setting the amplifier to 4 volts (example) just because thats your headunit preout voltage. With a dmm. They both get you close. Thats what I told him to do. But he needed to know the voltage to set it to. He didnt know how to figure out the correct setting. I am talking he can use a formula to figure the 38 volts using the head unit voltage and amp rating. You mean the way I told him? OP here is the way to set it as given on this website. I already stated this. Amplifier gain No different formula. I would like to know another formula

He needs to know the voltage output of his head unit. Not if he's using this method. Dont agree . And why not? If you play a 50/60hz tone on your headunit, turn the volume up to 3/4 volume, plug your dmm into the outputs of the amp, turn the amp to ac voltage, and set the gain to the given voltage(which is 38.73volts). Why would you need to know the voltage output of the headunit?

So you want 1500 @ 1 ohms? 1500wrms x 1ohms = 1500. Square root of 1500 = 38.73volts. Better to use your ears. But this gives you a good starting point at least.
  18. The low's won't be anywhere near as good as what the Xcon is capable of. why do you say this? The Xcon is a low end monster with 31mm of Xmax and lower Fs. I have owned both and heard multiple setups using both drivers and aside from specs I've heard both first hand. In no way am I saying the sa-8 can't drop down low, it just isn't on the same level as the Xcon. Specs and experience speak for the truth the xcon is a low end monster!
  19. Oh you want catchy?
  20. Not on brand new product. I would bet that the price of all this stuff is going to increase in the next 3 years, unless quality decreases and I don't see that happening.
  21. Can't wait to hear Slightly Stoopid in my car, sexy sexy time.
  22. pssh. This is how you tell if your system is loud.
  23. Got the big 3 finished today, bought some 1/0 from a local welding supply. 150 amp alt FTW! It's hot too.
  24. I have a feeling its vibrations from the amp being mounted on the enclosure, if so some rubber mounting feet will help.
  25. I checked the battery and oem alternator as posted above. they are well above the capacity to handle my amp. i have people who are running my amp in their camaro, same year, but with different subs. i know a guy with a sax 1500 on his camaro with stock battery and its going fine. my 14.6 volt can handle it. So how about you stop wasting my time with replies on things i've already checked. you "mine" as well back off.
